I’m the girl in the corner, quiet as a mouse. The girl in her bedroom, never leaves the house. The girl they call names. The girl with a frown. The girl who always feels down, unless she’s alone. All alone, just me and my thoughts and the thrill when those thoughts turn naughty. When the heart really races and the thrill hits big, as you play all alone in your own filthy little world, knowing that you just might get caught.
I had mixed feelings how to rate this one... Some parts I wanted to give a five, others, three and in some few, a two... So, it's a four... What to say about this book without spoilers?!? It's a dark, dirty, hot story with a lot of triggers. Sex, drugs, abuse, you name it... In the end I just can say: But, on the other hand, I just love when a book/author makes me feel like this. How it could be under my skin like this, love/hate feelings... What the hell! I even can't identify the feelings I had read in it!
It’s hard to put into words, my feelings about this book. I love to read the fluff with the HEA, but sometimes you have to have it rough! My feelings ranged from shocked to turned on. These characters are versatile and interchangeable. What I mean is, any of them could’ve been the “leader” in this sick and twisted game. While reading this story, it gave me memories of the movie Natural Born Killers. This was a thrilling, sex filled ride of emotion. What I loved about Mary is her depth. She was very in touch with her body. The sensations of each penetration were perfectly expressed and my imagination soared. The willingness and total abandonment was refreshing. Some Authors tend to describe these moments with fluff, but James always manages to give the raw essence of true human feelings. The inner beast is unleashed in this read. There is no way to tame it, you have to feed it until it bursts. The plot remains uncaged until the very end and just when you think the beast can be confined inside a basket, it consumes and devours you, leaving you spent in a bliss of sweet confusion, not knowing if what you read was a delicious dream. This is a high without the drugs, a massage without actual touch, an orgasm that didn’t require any tricks. Raw, bloody, messy, free, yet mesmerizing. Another 5 Stars
The Girl in the Basket is another well written read by James Crow, it contains all the hot, kinky fuckery we love about his books but this one is steeped in mystery and has a much darker edge than any of his previous books.
No spoilers from me, one click for a read that will take you far away, have you hot from lust & fear!!!
Mary Mole has got to be one of my most favorite characters that James Crow has created. She's just perfect in this naughty and oh so kinky little novella. Its jam packed with everything a dark, taboo loving reader enjoys. This is a most imaginative story and something we have come to expect and always welcome from the brilliantly warped mind of James Crow. Well done!
I almost quit reading this book during the first chapter because it was so confusing! On the first three pages alone there were a handful of things I did not understand. Usually it’s clear to me when authors make typos, but after reading on and getting an understanding of what the characters roles were, I realized that 50% of my confusion was because of typos. For example, I initially did not understand what Crow meant by, “Mr. Hardy takes Art, and just the sight of him makes me melt” but later realized that it should have been, “Mr. Hardy teaches Art...” .
Once things began to make sense, I no longer felt confused by the story, just shocked. This book is by far the strangest, most bizarre, weirdest book I have ever read, and I’ve read lots and lots and lots of books! This is not a romance; it’s bizarre, ultra-kinky porn!!!!! Not normally something I would read, I couldn’t put this book down solely because I was determined to find out if there was a point to all of the madness I was reading! Unfortunately, I didn’t get the revelation I had hoped for but must admit that I was consistently impressed by how utterly bizarre and strange this book is! I am so grateful this was not my first book by Crow because it certainly would have been my last!
Another 5 star read by the one and only James Crow!
Nobody can create a book like James, he has a unique way of telling a story that not only has you being one with the book but has you connecting with his crazy characters on a level that you wouldn't even think possible but he does that like no other can.
Mary is definitely a unique character and one that anyone can connect to even if you don't see it at first you soon will.
This book is filthy kink at its finest and a twist that you would or could not predict I loved it and would recommend to anyone!
Outstanding ! Another dark, naughty, kinky read from James Crow! I was pulled into the story from the first page and held captive throughout. This story is completely unique, it's sexy, dark, unpredictable, and has many twists and turns. I can say without a doubt, this book is a winner, I give it 5 DARK, DIRTY, KINKY, STARS!!!
As with all of James Crow's books, this story is loaded with the most unique and memorable characters you'll ever read. Full of wild and fanciful word pictures that you've never even thought of before. And rippling with all of the filthy sensual sexiness that you will need to keep you stimulated from the first to the last page. I won't give you anything about the story itself because, as with all of James's books, it must be experienced. I wouldn't dream of taking that away from anyone who decides to follow James down this particular rabbit hole and experience The Girl In The Basket for themselves. However, I will say, I believe that we all have a Mary Mole hiding inside of us. No matter how beautiful and graceful we may appear to be on the outside, she is in there. Hidden away doing wonderfully despicable things in the safety of the dark basket of our subconscious. I take my hat off to James Crow for bringing this awkward, homely, horny, dirty, needy, brilliant character, that hides within us all, into the light.
Such a gripping story. This has James Crow hallmark, stamped all over it but yet it’s a story that is unique in its own right. The kink and the twists just kept building. The visuals, radiated off the pages. The flow of the words, circulated around my mind and held it hostage.
An astonishing tale that had many layers -a story you can really get your teeth into. There are characters that won’t ever be forgotten, scenes that were kinky hot, and acts that were exquisitely eye-popping dark.
I received this book as an ARC.... Beyond thrilled to read it before it comes out in a few weeks. I love everything James Crow writes.... As a reader you truly never know where he is going to take you. His style of writing intrigues me. This book was dark, sexual, raw, had me wanting to swipe the page on my Kindle. At first with the title..... I thought oh boy.... Where is James going with this book.. ok I hate spoilers so I won't say but just know our characters are in for a thrilling ride especially Mary Mole.... Or as ww find out Dirty Mary.
School girl Mary Mole is a loner,a misfit and a dreamer...Those dreams are full of kinky all out filthy rendezvous' with art teacher Mr Hardy.. This is one of James' best novellas yet..You never know what's gonna be in the next chapter or page and that's what makes this book so addictive,The girl in the basket is a twisted mix of sex and dark what ifs that caught my interest from the start..
I loved this twisted, taboo story. Mary Mole is fabulous as to are Mr Hardy and Miss Jackson. James has a unique way of drawing the reader into his stories, you can really feel the characters as the twisted story continues. Another 5 star read James well done.
Mad Mary Mole - the frumpy dwarf. Lost her virginity to her mother’s prized saucepan collection!. Enter Mr Harvey Hardy and Penny Jackson, her teachers. Throw in the mix Princess Bubble Butt and a cast load of amazing intriguing characters and you have James Crow latest offering. ‘The Girl in the Basket’. It’s a trippy dippy mix of erotica and darkness reminiscent of Hannibal Lecter type serial killers. Be prepared to be thrust into a roller coaster of Craw Craw Crazy and James amazing imagination. In the author’s words ‘I’m riding a crazy magic carpet through exploding stars’! He never ceases to amaze me in his words. One click, five stars all the way and I can’t wait to see what he will come up with next
Every time, without fail, James Crow seems to amaze and astound me. The story of the quiet introvert Mary Mole is one wild and crazy tale. But it's always the quiet ones that shock us the most. This book is full of twists and turns and OMG moments, and in true James Crow fashion, kinky and filthy fuckery. The story is both panty melting and thought provoking.
Just when I think I've seen it all from Mr.Crow he drops my jaw and wows me with another fantastical tale. I was enthralled by the story of Miss Mary Mole from start to finish and this is another great five star read to add to Crow's repertoire. #2019MustRead
Were to start....perhaps at the beginning. Another, only James Crow could write masterpiece. As always it’s unique both in content and characters. It’s dark, dirty and different, add the twists in the tail and WoW. Don’t forget that dreams can sometimes turn into nightmares so beware what you wish for. 5*** read for me.
James Crow delivered yet another amazing story....
With yet another eclectic cast of characters and twists you never see coming, James Crow takes you on another filthy adventure.
I would never have imagined that a "frumpy Mary Mole" could be the star of such a fanciful read. James Crows imagination is limitless and as always l found myself unexpectedly feeling all sorts of things for the most unlikely of hero's in this story. As always ladies, l would suggest you find yourself a quiet corner, "panties optional" and expect the unexpected. But as always delivered in a way that has your heart pounding and your thoughts racing. Take a deep breath and devour each and every page , and when you finish don't be surprised if you find yourself opening a bottle of bubbly in the middle of the day sitting pantie less and grinning like the cat that got the cream and then some. Thoroughly enjoyed each and every word and would highly recommend this book..
This is another fascinating novella from the pen of James Crow , sexy, kinky, funny and with just a little bit more darkness that all adds up to an exciting and page turning read. Involving Mary, a shy and often lonely schoolgirl who loves nothing more than to escape from the world on her own , and her two teachers who take her on a marvellous adventure. Follow them on their journey of highs and lows with many twists and turns along the way and often some OMG moments . This book is one that you will devour in a single sitting and have you thinking about for long after you’ve finished it . James’ very beautiful descriptive writing is peppered throughout the obvious kinkiness that we all know and love and this makes for another well deserved five star read.
Dark, strange, dirty, taboo and completely unique I loved The Girl in the Basket.
This story will take you on a journey that is naughty, filthy, twisted and unpredictable. But will have you feeling real emotion for the characters and story. I could not predict how much I would feel for Molly through out this book.
This is another thrilling and brilliant book by James Crow that I would defineltly reccomend one-clicking
Mr. Crow does it again taking the reader on a filthy, dark adventure. He has a way of telling a story that is funny, captivating, deranged all at the same time. This story is no different. I don't want to give anything away because the story of the Girl in the Basket is worth reading.
Thanks again for another great imaginative story!! I can't wait until the next one!
Holy hell! this book is so hot, what a wild ride this took me on, when you read it make sure you are wearing extra panties or sitting on a towel you are going to need it, like normal it is a real pantie gusher, Thank you James you never disappoint.
Although I always have something to say, I am sort of struck dumb after reading this book. Who was the girl in the basket? Throughout my reading, I thought it was Mary Mole, quiet but so wanting to explode watching through the wicker basket, as her two teachers, Miss Jackson, and Mr. Hardy have hot and steamy sex. But she gets caught. By Mr. Hardy who admits that he has been lusting after her, watching her, as she plays with herself in that wicker basket. But he has a plan and he convinces Mary to join him. But what she doesn’t know, is that Miss Jackson is also in on the plan, a plan so filthy, so disturbing, so utterly ridiculous, that it works. Until Pops enters and shatters this whole dream-like sequence and we learn about the real girl in the basket.
This is the last book on my list of James Crow novels, and the one that caused me the most anxiety. Why did Mary allow herself to be used in such a way because the things that were done to her could only come from a book? They certainly cannot be real, could they? Yes, they could, and so much more done in the name of kinky, unprincipled, and perverted sex. We read as Mary’s fantasies multiply and finally erupt as she goes deeper into this world of entanglement and obsession.
You never know what you get with James Crow. But you always get the number six, and the colours yellow and blue. And you always get screwed-up and bold characters that keep pushing the limits with deviant and lewd sex. But this book left me with a lot of sadness thinking about all the girls who have their own baskets that never open up to allow them to live out their dreams.
Lets enter the mind and imagination of James Crow once again, you never know where this author will take you or what the ride is going to be like and this one was crazy, weird, dark, sexually explicit and literally down right filthy. No matter what James writes, I will read.
So we have some delightful characters to meet in this story. Mary mole is one of them. shunned, frumpy, dwarf like and ugly as she calls herself. Enter Mr Hardy Harvey and Penny Jackson who are both her teachers and a huge basket and you have this new tale from James. Honestly when you read this you will feel that you are trippin out and gone bat shit crazy but this is James Crow all over. I adore James imagination, the man sure can think up some really strange stories so be prepared for what you are about to read. It is not light reading by any means, but what it is is unique and different, gutsy and brilliant; you never know what you will find on the next page.
Addictive stuff from the Maestro himself, can't wait to see what he comes up with next !!!
The weirdest book I’ve read in a while.... maybe ever. And NOT in a good way. 🤨😕😖😨🤔 If I’d have read this book on my own, I’d have quit way before the end.... but I was buddy reading this book, so I felt I needed to keep going. However.... @ 75% I quit!! (My buddy Kim felt the same but managed to finish it.) For me, it was a f*king-waste-of-time-read. {Op z’n Nederlands: een FWT-tje, maar FWT is dus geen Engelse afkorting, lol! De afkorting bestaat wel, maar betekent ‘Flying with Turban’ 😳 ??!!} Anyway, I didn’t like anything about this book. Half of the time I didn’t even understand what I was reading?? Couldn’t even appreciate that it as ‘different’. I’m so glad it’s over.... never gonna speak of it again, lol!
Another 5 ⭐ read from James Crow. This book was a little dark, kind of scary, and a whole lot of hot. From the first chapter you learn about Mary Mole, her teachers, Mr Harvey and Miss Jackson. Then the story just gets hotter and crazier from there. It's a wild ride so hang on for all the ups and downs, and an ending you won't expect.
I have had almost a week to come up with my review.... Well even now I still don't have the words to give this book justice. The twisted world of my mind have come to the conclusion that James will never disappoint you. His way qoth words is truly amazing. Quiet Mary and Harvey will have you fanning yourself the entire book. The twists will keep you glued to his words.
I honestly don't know what to rate this book so for now I'll leave it unrated because ... wtf did I just read? How i managed to read to the end I have no idea! I expected this to be a short dirty read but nothing in this book was a turn on for me, I just spent the whole time 'rereading shit to make sure I read it right
The story has you gripped from the very first page till the very end. It’s a dark, kinky read with a few surprises thrown in too. I loved Mary Mole she had me feeling sorry for her one minute and cheering her on the next
Love the twist in this story. The author is an evil genius and always takes it up to the next filthy level. Mary and Mr Hardy are deviants that you can’t get enough of.
