Almost anything you ever wanted to know about giraffes is in this book. It covers the anatomy, behavior, life cycle and more. The prose is very readable and the information interesting. There are some diagrams to aid with parts of it.
The real attraction in this book are the illustrations. Ugo Mochi is known for his illustrations. They look like silhouettes, but are much more. The explanation is that each picture is cut from a single sheet of heavy black paper. These include illustrations of different poses, groups, other animals and more.
This book is one you may pick up because of the allure and mystique of giraffes, but you will treasure it for the wonderful illustrations.
