Julian – Clean Break (Book 7 of The Guardian Shifters)
The Guardians are back!
Julian has faced many ups and downs throughout his life; he’s faced loss, grief, heartache, and the worst of all – disloyal family. But, now that he’s away from everything negative that’s happened in his life, he’s got a second chance. Only, a second chance is the last thing on his mind when he’s suffering from a downward spiral into a dark abyss. He doesn’t want a second chance. In fact, he doesn’t want a life at all.
The Guardian’s pack will stop at nothing to help Julian. Even if that means pushing him into the arms of his human mate, Kaira.
Kaira’s in danger from someone from Julian’s past. Someone Julian and the other Guardian’s didn’t even know existed. Now the race is on, not only to help Kaira, but to ensure that shifters can work alongside humans.
Can Julian protect his mate?
Only time will tell if Julian has what it takes to build bridges and move forward into the future, putting the past behind him and living a happy life.
I have enjoyed each book in this series, but this one is the best so far. Julian was a character in several of the previous books, although never a main character. I always knew there was more to his story. After Jasper takes over the Council, Julian falls into a deep depression. He feels there’s no meaning to life until he catches his mate’s scent on the wind. He saves her from being attacked. There’s one big problem, she’s human and has no idea about his world. This story shows how they must overcome obstacles if they’re to discover true love. There are some surprises in store for readers in this book, but I do not wish to spoil it for anyone. It is full of twists and turns and will have you on the edge of your seat. Well done to the author, they have really surpassed themselves with this book!
Julian what a book to get to know more about him he has been the quiet one throughout the guardian shifters. He's a protector and always thinks of other's. We see a side of him in this book that surprised me in stages. Especially with kaira. This author has done amazing work with all these books they reader's keep wanting more and more. A clean break for Julian? This story tells it all and a lot more. It will leave you remaining loving all of these books in this series that I highly recommend. I'm well and truly gripped into them all. Hope there is more to follow from this wonderful gifted author.
I loved reading Julian's story. He has always been the one that I just wanted to know more about because there was just something about him. I'm so glad he got his happy ending with his mate, Kaira, who really is very different to the other women within the series but still strong like them. I honestly cannot wait for the last book though there will be tears! Well done again, Kelly!
*If you haven’t read the previous books there might be some spoilers.*
This is book seven in The Guardian Shifters series. This time we get Julian’s story. As we saw at the end of book six Jillian almost dies and has to figure out what’s next in his life after leaving the council.
He’s very lost and doesn’t know who he is anymore. His wolf and him are on different pages. He’s trying to fit into Jaspers pack but is just lost.
Kaira is a human doctor at the local hospital. She eats, sleeps, and works so when something happens on the way to her car after a 12 hour shift she feels panicked and suddenly thrown into this new world.
“The scent is stronger than it was back on pack ground, but I still can’t tell where it’s coming from. It’s annoying me more than my wolf, and I need to find the source now.”
While taking a run Julian finds himself drawn to a scent at the hospital where he thankfully was in the right place at the right time. He feels super protective over Kaira and making sure the danger she’s in gets resolved.
Will Julian be able to find himself? Will Kaira be able to figure out pack life? Will she want too?
If you’ve kept up with the series, you have known Julian almost from the very start. I am so glad the author has chosen to give him a story. May I just say she did herself and Julian proud. The storyline is amazing and gives us a much better picture into his life.
All the main characters are involved in giving us Julian’s story, as the pack is always there for one of their own. Julian is on a path to self destruction since he has learned the truth about his parents death and his cousin's wicked ruling to control their kind. Julian is feeling helpless, with no direction. But when he’s led to his mate, to protect her from harm, he has hope his life is about to change for the good. The problem is his mate is human. How does he tell her he’s a shifter and get her to accept his way of pack life all while trying to protect her from an unknown that is they have learned is a part of Julian’s past? Again, an amazing storyline that is a must read.
Kudo Ms. Lowe. I love this series and Julian’s story was a fabulous addition. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 stars for a great read in a phenomenal series. I Highly Recommend all the books in the Guardian Shifter series.
Julian was a surprise to me, because I never had plans of writing his story. However, once I started I couldn't stop. Julian isn't what we originally thought. He's had a terrible upbringing from a young age, faced bullying, and now depression. Now, many years on, he's got to find peace in order to move forward.
This book can be read as a standalone. We see characters from all the previous books, which is one of the things I love from this series. The Guardian's are strong, independent characters, who stop at nothing for their family.
If you like a fast paced PNR then Julian is a book for you.
Poor K M Lowe must really hate me. After begging for extra charcters to be written from this series we finally get Julian's story.
He was never a main charcter in the other books and always in the background. But he had a story to be told and a heartbreaking one too. K M Lowe has not disappointed and with each book the stories have just got better and better. The twists and turns in this book keeps you on the edge of your seat.
This is Julian’s story which I’ve been waiting patiently for and boy was it worth the wait. I have loved the whole series of the guardian shifters but I personally feel that Julian’s story is the best one yet. The way Kelly has written these books draws you into the book and you feel all the different emotions that they go through with them. It is bittersweet to know that number 8 is coming soon but that it will be the final chapter for the guardian shifters.
I'm in love with Julian and kaira they are a lovely couple, I've been hooked since i started reading this and I have loved every min. I can't wait to read more from one of my fav authours
Julian was an adult at 18 when he lost his parents circumstances I felt were a bit fishy since Braxton took over what should have been Julian's position, however he bowed to Braxton and gave in. Although I felt some empathy towards him for his patents I do feel he had a choice, he could have left the council and made a life with a pack. Yes he was on the good side but he still did bad things because of Braxton dictating to him. He came through for Jasper in the end and almost died so I forgave him. Finding his mate and that she is human throws him another curveball, thank goodness for for friends and the pack that took him in. This one didnt keep me quite as on edge or suspense, i guessed prerty early on who the main bad guy was it was more the why and how he was connected that had me guessing. Kaira had her whole life thrown for a loop, but she coped pretty well with it all. Another final book is almost ready and I'm excited for that. I think this one was made by having Jasper and co playing a big part, Julian was nice and he definitely cared for his mate and came through in the end but his past with Braxton did influence my opinion of him, whereas all the others I've adored especially Jasper. I was still invested and gripped by this, it's part of the overall series and plot but at this time I'm not completely team Julian.
Julian is a wolf shifter. He lost both of his parents on the same day at a young age. His clan was usurped by his cousin and he was made to be something darker than anything he would have thought of himself.
Twenty years later, he is a shattered shell of himself. He has cloistered himself away from his clan and drinks nonstop. Until an intervention changes his whole life.
Kaira is a midwife in a local hospital. She enjoys the solitude and regulatory of her life. What she doesn't know is that her life is over danger.
Julian will stop at nothing to keep his mate safe. But how can he do that when she has no idea who our what he really is?
Loved it. Want to read the entire series.
Merged review:

I absolutely loved this installment of The Guardian Shifters.
Julian has always been a good guy, working on the wrong side. He was working for someone he tought he could trust, but you can't always trust family, especially when they betray you and make you feel less than you're worth. Being rescued by Jasper and finding Kaira were a turning point for Julian. I loved that Julian got his happy.
I'm glad we got Julian's story. After him popping up at different points in the series I was curious to know more about him. I knew he would turn out to be one of the good guys.
Although Julian can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend the whole series to be read from the start. I wish I could go back and read it again, for the first time. I've loved the whole series, I can't believe it's nearly the end! I'm excited and nervous for the next one, to see what is in store for the Guardians.
After reading Callum, I was really excited to dig in with this book. Julian is set to take over for his father on the council for his father, he's spent his whole life preparing but when great tragedy strikes his family everything spirals out of control for him. The Guardian's will stop at nothing to help him.
Poor Julian is broken and I really felt for him as a character, there is a lot of reasons why he is like he is but things soon start to look up for him. Each character around him helps to tell his backstory. You could read this story as a standalone or as part of the series but having read the previous book you do get a lot of the same characters in this book as well. Kaira is a great character as well and she takes the truth really well considering she is only human.
I'm going to start my review with a complaint about this book! It just wasn't long enough lol. I became so lost in the story of Julian and Kaira that I wasn't ready for it to end. I love each of the guardian shifters, but Julian has definitely become one of my favourites because who doesn't love a tortured soul who has a soft side when it comes to the woman he loves. This was a book that I didn't know I needed until I picked it up and it's a beautiful addition to the series. I'm now left eager to find out what happens in the final instalment because I get the feeling the surprises aren't yet over. KM Lowe never fails to deliver books that readers become addicted to and I think many of us would be over the moon if this series never ended ♥
*I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book
Well, if you are wanting to read a book that is fast paced, with an older male shifter, then you need to read Julian. Julian is a wolf shifter who is lost in his own world. This man has been knocked down physically, emotionally and mentally. His story is sad and heart breaking. However, something good always comes when you least expect it. It does and her name is Kaira. Only fate wants to test these two. Let me just say that she was being cruel. Their story is a long time coming and you will see that when you read the story. It is funny, to the point, great characters.
Julian has lost everything and fallen into a dark place. With nothing left to live for he's turned to the bottle. While he thinks he's loosing his mind his world is thrown into another tailspin. As usual this team can't do anything easy. While they may start off in this pack as outsiders they all do whatever is needed when one of theirs is threatened. I love this pack and this series. It's one that is filled with action and so very emotional it will keep you turning the pages for more.
An amazing series that will have you on the edge of your seat full of hot male shifters with equal other halves that keep them in toe and help them become the men they Are. Julian’s story was full of action packed adventure through everything he’s gone through and come out the other side hopefully with a mate eventually. A highly recommended must read series you won’t want to miss.
Julian, wow what a surprise journey that book was! I really enjoyed this series, but with Julian, the author just took the Guardian Shifter series to a whole new level!! Way to go Lowe!!
