If you love your rock stars hot and broody with plenty of sex appeal than look no further than the rock star gods from Darkest Days. Noah is the brooding lead singer who has a tough time letting people break through his walls. I loved the twins Ian and Damon and knew it would take two equally feisty women to tame these two crazy rock stars. Cam and August probably had the most angst ridden romances each having to face their own hurdles to find their happily ever after.

Each book can be read as a standalone, however getting to re-read each of their stories all together was so much more enjoyable as you go on the journey with the band and get to see each rock star find the one woman who makes them fall to their knees. I loved these rock star boys as well as all the amazing bonus scenes. This was a fantastic box set and I would highly recommend if you love a good rockstar romance. I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC and this is my honest review.

Loved this series

I like that the guys were hard rock but also had backgrounds that made them really good guys. The women are strong. I am also happy that the last book was Damon. He was my favorite story.

I absolutely loved all the rock gods of Darkest Days. The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because I prefer dual POV’s. Otherwise Noah, Damon and Cameron were my favorite. ❤️

Darkest Days Box Set

While I enjoyed most of the stories, it was Ians' and Augusts' stories that stuck out the most. Literally heartbreaking. I do think that this is worth a read.

Hard Rock Tease 5 stars
Loved this newest series by Athena. After being introduced in the Feral Silence series, they captured my attention. These boys are a bit rougher around the edges than their counterparts. Noah needs someone to see beyond his perpetual scowl. He's worn his prickly armor so long he doesn't have a clue how to let someone in. Jenni is determined to do her best by Noah and the job she has to help him. Noah has a few lessons to learn and Jenni needs to figure out how stand up for herself. They both have some deep wounds, but together they fix what's broken. The ending is superb. I can't wait for the next book.

Hard Rock Fling 5 stars
Great follow up to Noah's book. I loved how Hope saw the real Ian from the beginning. She has a bit of a time believing that he can be genuinely interested in her. I enjoyed Ian's possessiveness of Hope. The way Hope deals with Ian's dark secret impressed me. She doesn't give up, she takes advice and takes action. Ian's acknowledgment of his problem and seeking the help he needs got a thumbs up from me. I'm looking forward to what comes next.

Hard Rock Sin 5 stars
Cameron has long been the poster child for out of control rocker. Wild parties and a long string of anonymous women are his calling card. He takes great delight in pushing his bandmate’s buttons; especially Noah. I loved getting to see underneath all that eyeliner to the real Cameron. He has some big holes in his heart and his life of partying is meant to fill that.
Lily has spent a long time being hidden away and I was pleased that she was striving to become independent. Her brother Noah made me laugh with his high handed attempts to keep her safe; especially when they put her right in Cameron’s lap. I liked Noah's girlfriend Jen even more for her ability to manage Noah and give Lily the freedom she was seeking.
It was an interesting battle to watch as Cameron had to deal with his loyalty to Noah and his desire for Lily when she was right there living in his home. Lily’s sweet gentle nature and insight into the real man meant that Cameron didn’t stand a chance.
There were so many wonderful moments it is hard to pick a favorite, but I’m going to say that when Lily wins the scavenger hunt and the prize she claims melted my heart.

Hard Rock Deceit 5 stars
I absolutely loved this one. It has a bit of a different feel than the others in the Darkest Days series. The build is a bit slower but it's amazing. August has kind of been the background in previous books. The orchestrator and driver of Darkest Days, he always appears completely in control. I liked that Cassie sees the real man, not the mask he wears and even more I like that August sees the real woman. Cassie is quite insightful and sees through more than just August's facade but into the hearts of the other guys as well. I like that she takes steps to bring some things right. There are some definite fireworks with these two; both good and bad. I loved that when all of August's demons come to light that the guys rally to help August and include Cassie.

Hard Rock Heat 5 stars
Oh, how I've been waiting for Damon! The man is an egotistical, narcissist who is positive every woman will fall at his feet. It leaves him sorely confused when Faith isn't interested in being a notch on his bedpost. The fact she doesn't do casual sex boggles him. Faith has a cast iron will 99% of the time. She wants what Damon is offering, but not without something real. I loved that once Damon takes the leap, it Faith and only Faith for him. Both of them are carrying some enormous burdens, but together with their friends and families, they stand. It was terrific seeing some of the couples from this series and others make an appearance.

A 5-book complete collection of the Darkest Days series.

Bk 1: Hard Rock Tease: This one deals with the lead singer of Darkest Days, Noah Hart and Jen, a recently graduated music student (and group fangirl:) who is hired- against his wishes -to help him compose lyrics for the personal song he is writing. You can practically feel the passion jump off the page and smack you in the face. Arrogance, lust, inspiration, fire, public displays of *affection*, self-pity, trust, betrayal, pain, euphoria, redemption and family.
Bk 2: Hard Rock Fling: Meet Ian Drake, twin #2 guitarist in the band and Hope, a props intern with the band. In this story we basically see the fireworks that happen to a cocky rock star when somebody "sees" him for real (not as part of a twin mix). Sparks fly, secrets are revealed, hidden pain is exposed. But can Hope help Ian and will he let her? Some secrets really need to be exposed for there to be healing. Hope: "This man had the power to break my heart...I was practically ripping open my chest and offering it to him....But I didn't have it in me to resist."
* Warning* This one might contain triggers due to self harm.
Bk 3: Hard Rock Sin: Being someone's dirty little secret always takes a toll. Here we pit a sinful, carnal, lady loving, bassist - Cameron, vs. Noah's sheltered and adored baby sister-Lily. It all begins when Lily "sees" Cameron in a backroom after a concert. Talk about starting with a bang....you get the picture:) Wa ha ha...in this tale we find out what happens when you put forbidden fruit in front of a starving man. All it takes is a "trash panda" to set things in motion..... (gotta read the book to understand)
Bk 4: Hard Rock Deceit: True love is sticking with someone "for better and for worse, through sickness and through health". August Summers, Darkest Day's drummer and brilliant musical artist hires talented photographer and artist in her own right, Cassie to be the band's event photographer. "We didn't share the same medium, but art was art...maybe I could learn from him...My face burned as I contemplated what exactly August could teach me..." Yum. Now all she has to do (to save him) is expose him, betray him, and finally put him back together again. Piece of cake.
Bk 5: Hard Rock Heat: Last but not least we meet charming playboy Damon (twin #1) and Hope's twin sister- party planner Faith. (yup, some twin on twin action-but of what kind?) Faith :"...I'd say it's a pleasure to see you again, but it's really not..." Damon: "You're a bad liar, sweetness." The banter between them is so much fun. Faith: "I took a deep, cleansing breath, resisting the urge to punch him in the mouth...I hate you." Damon: " No you don't." Boy do sparks fly when Damon hires Faith to plan an event for him. "Damon didn't date. I didn't sleep around. That was all there was to it. But, of course, things were never that easy when it came to Damon Drake." *smirk* Can a bad boy corrupt a good girl? Read the book to find out! (Disclosure: This story also contains secrets, lies, blackmail, and family angst on both sides)
Encore Performance: This is the icing on the cake. The cherry on top of the sundae. A quick and steamy bonus peek at all of the characters!

One awesome box set!

Ebook #1: Tease is a good name for this story because Noah’s personality is definitely a tease! This one is easy to read but keeps you interested. The back and forth between him and Jennfer’s professional/personal relationship keeps the reader turning the pages to see if they will get an HEA (yes, they do!). Both have issues to overcome and both find solace in each other.

Ebook #2: Fantastic story filled with angst, drama and vulnerabilities. Ian and Hope are so much alike - both sensitive and dealing with issues that bring them together. This one also deals with mental health issues that really make you feel closer to the story and makes you cheer these two on!

Ebook #3: Another fantastic story! Cameron is such a great character. He is so full of depth...the misconceptions he had that started in his youth impacted every action he made up through adulthood. But his love for Lily (and her love for him) results in his understanding these misconceptions, which makes this story so heartfelt and amazing!

Ebook #4: Such an emotional storyline! This one was a tear jerker and one of my favorites. I loved that this storyline as it deals with prescription abuse that turns into addiction is one that is so prevalent in today’s society. The struggles are real and gut wrenching.

Ebook #5: Great drama filled story that also had me laughing at Damon’s antics!

Spills and thrills baby! Athena pulled one amazing treat together for our enjoyment. You get it all with this riveting collection. Chaotic rides with a bounty of swirling emotions bursting forward front and center. Dealing with all the trials and tribulations, along with a few twists and turns catapults this little treasure together sleek, shiny and tight. A multitude of inadvertent surprising events and vexing circumstances keep you flipping page after page. 100% heat with amazing scenarios that are so colorfully described its like you're living it with them instead of on the sidelines. The realism and authenticity of the characters as their on point personalities blend and connect along with the graphically detailed scenes that really pull this baby together smoothly. Awesome collection Athena, thanks for sharing it.

This author’s Darkest Days series jump started my obsession with rockstar romances. In fact, this series is still one of my all time favorites (August from Hard Rock Deceit will forever be my rockstar book boyfriend). I am thrilled that I now own the entire series as these are novels that I love to go back and reread. The bonus scenes are worth it alone! This author always weaves together a unique story that features likable, well developed characters and they have the perfect combination of steam, humor, and seriousness. If you are a fan of romances that feature sexy rockstars who are brought to their knees by strong heroines, then you will enjoy the Darkest Days boxed set. I’ve read an early complimentary version of this book and all thoughts are my own.

Excellent series with very good characters
I loved all the romances of this series of Athena Wright. The author manages to create in each story excellent characters, endearing sometimes tortured, arrogant, sarcastic but ultimately always simply human. The description of the feelings is excellent, and at the end of the story, i always wanted to know the continuation of the life of another member of the group in the following book. Moreover, the heroines are not naive or silly in spite of the context of a sucess rock band which could have cumulate groupies.

Complete 5 book Darkest Days series with a bonus epilogue. They are all full length, not told in dual POV but each in the female POV. Darkest Days is a band and each book are about a different member of the band. The band members were not friends growing up, but each discovered by the drummer, August the prodigy composer. The stories really give the characters backgrounds and where they each came from, including their pasts and their secrets. They each find their own love, but not insta-love, but relationships that took their time and work. I enjoyed each book in this series and would highly recommend!!

Awesome set of Rock Star romances. Each one of the band members led a troubled life of some sort. The author covered abuse, self-abuse (cutting), addiction, taking on an adult role early in life, neglect, and homelessness. The characters cross over from one book to the other. Each of the band members are part of the self made family but secrets abound. The author made characters we love to hate and others we just love. Ms. Wright did a wonderful job on the characters and storylines. I received a complementary copy of this set and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Wright.

One of my ultimate favorites is reading rockstar romances! This huge boxset collection is awesome, you can sit and binge read the whole series without having to wait until the next book comes out. The characters in this series are so well developed that you feel you are one of their closes friends. I really like the fact that they are strong, independent and not without their real life insecurities holding them back. I really can get into a book, when I feel like I am right there with the characters. The bonus scenes are like icing on the cake with this series…

I must say I just love this series. The guys and girls in each story are amazing in their own right… Personal issues that come out so neatly. Different issues being addressed, ways to solve them. I just can’t say enough about this series. The only issue with this series is that someone needs to proofread before the books come out. There are missing words, wrong words, punctuation errors, but you’re able to figure out what the author means. Just a little more attention to detail would be great

his boxset is wonderful! To have Noah, Ian, Cameron, August and Damon all in one location is amazing! I have read each of these stories before, independently, but this boxset is dangerous!! I read and read and read! It's difficult to pick a favorite from these rockers - as you read each story, you will become captivated by them. I highly recommend this boxset! I received an advanced readers copy of this book and HIGHLY recommend it!

I loved this box set. Each band member got a HEA but got there in different ways. August and Cassie were my favourite couple but Faith made poor Damon work the hardest for her heart. Great angst and excitement. The twins dating escapades was especially fun. It just goes to show that even Rocker bad boys can be reformed. I look forward to reading the next rock band series. I read these books with my KU subscription.
