Texas beauty, Malika Carter is a young, successful and sexy business woman who could probably get any man she wanted. The problem is that Malika doesn't want any man... unless he's someone else's man. She can’t help it but she loves being the side chick and doesn’t see anything wrong with it. But when she meets a special man one day, everything about him makes her want to consider changing her ways.
Kentrell and Kane LaDay are identical twins but polar opposites in nearly every way. While Kane is the drug dealing, bad chick seeking, wild child of the two, Kentrell is the epitome of a ‘good black man’ and everything his mother would’ve wanted him to be, had she lived to see the day. Outside of their physical appearance, the LaDay brothers are nothing alike and have nothing in common… nothing, but Malika Carter, that is.
They say everything is bigger in Texas and the saying rings true when it comes drama as well. With Malika caught up between two brothers, sex, lies, love and death becomes a factor in each of their lives. Will one woman’s karma cause the demise of all three?
My mother once claimed that all ladies should require and oblige to proper introductions. And seeing as I am a sweet southern lady, at times, here goes nothing. I hail from the deep, deep DEEP South; Louisiana to be exact. I am a dragon-slaying Superwoman during the day. By night, I am a somersaulting, tight-rope walking spectacle with mounds of colorful hair!!! In “normal everyday life”, however, I am just me. The name’s Viola. Viola Monreaux. Ms. Monreaux if you’re naughty. I am Viola the mother, the daughter, the sister, the confidante, the villain, the heroine, the lover and the writer of it all. My passion for writing began as my therapy, compliments of my fixation with that thing called love. Paper to pen as a canvas to release and relate is good for the soul. Thus, I write to share, teach, and heal. As long as life is being lived I shall rejoice in the ability to create worlds for all to read, hopefully relish in and possibly grow from. Enjoy! Love, Peace and Good Sex, Viola Monreaux
I loved the story line sooooo much. The character and plot development was pretty good too. I gave it 3 stars because the number of grammatical errors, misspelled words, missing words, and unclear sentences made it difficult to get through. It was terrible. I borrowed this book from the library and I hope that it has been edited since this copy was put out.
Malika was something else. She took being a slut bucket to new heights and wasn't ashamed at all. I see my speculations about Big Daddy was confirmed. Everyone was caught up in one big web and the one thing in common was Malika. So Ashanti wasn't so innocent after all. Big Daddy has some serious issues when it comes to Kentrell and it makes me wonder just what his problem is. Now Kentrell had to be one of the biggest dummies and I couldn't believe he'd allow Malika of all people to constantly keep him in something. I can't wait for all of Malika's lies to come to the forefront because she never considered others feelings while doing the things she did. I really don't like Kane and I would've expected him to go much harder to really help Kentrell but he's questionable as well.
Malika didn't care. She was a hot mess for real. She was honest though. She didn't care what others thought about her. Her ways with the twins were scandalous! Kentrell wanted to escape his past but with people like his brother Kane and his dad, they made it hard. Ashanti was more than what she portrayed herself as. Malika definitely underestimated her, as well as Kentrell. With the way this one ended, the next book is going to be crazy. The story just kept getting crazier and crazier. The characters were a trip. Blake is nuts and Big Daddy needs to have several seats. Malika smh just scandalous!
This book was nothing like I expected. I'm not sure what the author's intent was, but I found it almost hilarious. Anyone who lived like Malika couldn't be taken seriously. I hated her vile ways, but I loved the author's writing style - witty and cynical. The story was drama filled and kept me swiping like crazy. Lots of jaw dropping moments. Very entertaining, but sickening at the same time.
This was a good book. Enjoyed the storyline and these characters. Malika, was something else and then some. She took being a cum bucket as Ashanti called her to another level. After the ending, I can't wait for all these characters secrets come to light. Good job Viola Monreaux.
I really enjoyed this book from the very beginning. Malakia got exactly what she deserved with her nasty self...She was really keeping it in the family...she must didn’t know karma is a B....That ending blew my mind...I didn’t see that coming at all. I can’t wait to read part 2...Viola you did a great job as usual...
The author does a great job of creating the scene, building the characters and ratcheting up the drama. There are a few grammatical errors, but other than that the story moves quickly and seamlessly from scene to scene until it hits an explosive ending. (link to full review in bio)
