The dead won't stay buried.
When an armed robber is extradited from Spain back to the UK to face trial, he knows the police have bigger fish to fry. So he does something no one has ever had the nerve to do before - he agrees to give evidence against Mikey Maguire and Jez Law, the kings of not only Manchester but the entire north of England about a murder he committed on their behalf. At the same time Estelle Law's mangled corpse is discovered and all the evidence points to her youngest son, Jez, as the culprit.
With murder charges hanging over their heads and an obsessed police officer determined to see them sent down, the two men are remanded into prison, leaving Jules and Ryan holding the fort in Manchester, fending off their rivals who, sensing weakness, start to attack.
Rachel remains behind in Devon when her eldest son ends up in trouble. The pressure is only piled on when she realises she has a stalker.

Heather Atkinson gets better and better Wow what a Fantastic book Riot keeps you on the edge of your seat.The Maguires/Laws have ruled Manchester for years and have kept their throne by fighting hard but when a devious policeman is determined to take them down by any means the rats surface to take over.Mikey,Jez,Jules and their inner circle are out to keep whats theirs and will kill anyone who gets in their way.I have loved this book it kept me gripped from the start to the finish Jules and Rachel are my fav charactors.I would give this book more stars if i could 5* and Thank you to Heather Atkinson and keep them coming please.

Book was enjoyable but in one of the pages, 200 and something , Jules name was mistakenly used instead of Rachel's. This is infuriating as I had to re-read the chapter to make sure it wasn't my mistake. I'm finding this more often in kindle books and it's just lazy editing

A great book
Another hit for Heather Atkinson, wow this book was great and deserving of its 5 star rating. I could go on and on reading this series , I really hope we have a 14 coming as I for 1 would be delighted with that. Can't believe how mh suspense and danger was in it, edge of seat time for definite. We have police corruption, a prison riot, the serial killer who is off the scale loony, family troubles and all through this we have our 2 main family's trying to survive and live through it. I don't like giving a lot of the plot away, I think you shouldn't spoil the thrills and suspense for others. I would highly recommend this book if you want a seat of your pants, sitting on the edge of your seat and routing for not your not so average gangsters to win the day. This author has the gift of bringing her characters to life on the pages and getting you engaged with them and loving the good and shouting at the bad and down right dirty.

Love these stories, I really hope there's more, especially Archie.
Just the right amount of gang violence to keep you on the MacGuire/Law side.. The baddies deserved it!!
Despite the violence the series is about family, surviving through all sorts of drama. Murder, revenge, bent coppers, retaliation. . Binge read 13 books fantastic.

Wow this was soo intense ,with Jez and Micky in prison ,Racheal has a stalker ,Ethen being accused set up for indecent jesters .Just soo much going on and a copper hell bent on bringing them all down
And Alex going on the rampage with his stepfathers gun after trying to poison him !!.Was breathless when i finished this.

Good book apart from repetitive words
She needs to stop saying bruv in every sentence . Very annoying .

Rivierting read
Again what a fantastic read. I feel like part of these familys lives The characters are so real. Following their journey through life.has been a roller coaster ride of emotions. Can't wait for the next chapter.
Couldn't put this down. What a fantastic read. I recommend anyone going to the beginning of these books. You won't be disappointed.

If you like Martina Cole, Kimberly Chambers you will love Heather Atkinson, personally she is now one step ahead of these,

Never disappoints
Dci Dwyer is still intent to bring the maguire and laws down and he succeeds. Cracks finally appear in this empire that has been going top dog for years. With everything being done and nothing leaking to gang it looks like times up....who meets the grisly end..
