Through The Abundance Mind-Set, Joel can help you change your defeatist mind-set so that one day soon, instead of just having a dream, you'll be living the dream. Your vision will become reality.

"You may have gone through some great disappointments in life or faced some serious setbacks. Welcome to the real world! But you must remember, you are a child of the Most High God. Just because something didn't work out your way or somebody disappointed you, that does not change who you are. If one dreams dies, dream another dream. If you get knocked down, get back up and go again. When one door closes, God will always open up a bigger and better door. Hold your head high, and be on the lookout for the new thing that God wants to do in your life." (Joel Osteen, The Abundance Mind-Set)
If you need a boost of encouragement because of problems you are having in this world, then this is the book to read!
Positive thinking will attract the right things to you, but negative thinking will attract the wrong things. It is easy to become negative, especially if bad things are happening all around us, but having negative thinking will just make things worse and attract more negative. In this book, Joel Osteen, encourages you to change the direction of your sails in your mind to head into the land of the Abundance Mind-set. He says, "God is called El Shaddai, the God of More Than Enough. Not the God of Barely Enough or the God of Just Help Me Make It Through. He's the God of Overflow. The God of Abundance."
One practical way he shares about turning your thinking around to the Abundance Mind-Set is to begin to rehearse the good things that have happened to you in the past. He talks about how in the Old Testament, God commanded His people to have certain feasts and celebrations because this would cause them to remember what He had done. Often His people would lay literal memorial stones. He says, "When you look back over your life, remember when your child was born, remember when you got that new position, remember when the problem suddenly turned around, remember the peace you felt when you lost a loved one. Remember the strength you had in that difficult time. It looked dark. You didn't think you'd see another happy day again, but God turned it around and gave you joy for mourning, beauty for ashes, and today you're happy, healthy, strong. We should all have our own memorial stones."
While I was reading this book, I started thinking about all the times God brought me through a bad situation. How just when I thought I was not going to make it, He gave me the victory, vindicated me, gave me peace in the midst of the storm... I personally have a journal where I keep personal prophesies that I have received and I have another journal where I recount the victories that I have had. I have written things as simple as graduating from college, getting that new job, having things backfire on an evil plan that was coming against me. Rehearsing past victories will cause you to be encouraged and root out negative thinking. What has God done for you in the past? What victories or positive things have happened to you in past? Rehearse these in your mind and you will begin to attract more of the same.
This book helped my thoughts get back on track when my mind was heading to the negative, and I hope it does that for you too! Good read.
Subtitled “Success Starts Here,” Pastor Joel Osteen has released this short book asking the reader if you have a skinny goat mindset or a fatted calf mindset. The book makes wise use of Scripture throughout and includes a mixture of personal stories and stories about other people.
Osteen writes, “There is something inside us that says we’re supposed to be blessed. We’re supposed to live an abundant life. It’s because we are children of the King. It was put there by our Creator. But here’s the key: You have to give God permission to prosper you. You can’t go around with a lack mentality, thinking, I’ll just take the leftovers to show everyone how humble I am. After all, God wouldn’t want me to have too much. That would b greedy. That would be selfish. Get rid of that false sense of humility. That’s going to keep you from an abundant life.” (Page 20)
This book is packed with powerful teaching and you will want to keep this handy in your desk drawer or on your bedside stand—and read and re-read it. I highly recommend THE ABUNDANT MIND-SET as worthwhile reading.
The Abundance Mind-Set by Joel Osteen is a small book that is full of Osteen's advice and encouragement to live a better life.
The Abundance Mind-Set has five chapters and each one is like a pep talk if you are feeling down and discouraged. He does share some Bible stories but Osteen also shares some stories from his life and those he knows. He writes this book to encourage readers to live each day thinking about good things and living with the expectation of more good things from God.
Like many people, we have faced some challenges from the pandemic. If I start to feel down, I know that Osteen will always turn my mind towards God and thinking about good things. When asked if he is a prosperity minister, on page 18 of The Abundance Mind-Set he says he doesn't like that term and explains why he preaches the way he does. I especially liked the last chapter called Be Someone's Miracle. In this chapter, he explains how God uses us all to bless those around us and how we need to be open to doing things for others to bless them. I know it would be a better world if we would all do this--myself included. All in all this is an uplifting read for when you need a pick-me-up book and a dose of encouragement to keep living for God and helping those around you. The small size of The Abundance Mind-Set makes it easy to stick in your purse or briefcase. If you regularly read Osteen, this isn't really new material but it does put it in a pocket sized place to read on the go if you need a reminder or want to pass it on to someone else.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions within this review are my own.
Here are a few of the points Joel Osteen lays down clearly. It is a book that will challenge you to shift certain perspectives for your own good, and the good of those under your umbrella of influence.
● What you imagine, you attract. Your thoughts create your environment. They also create you. You are what you think. ● Remember how far God has brought you, the battles and challenges He took you through, and trust He will do it again. Don’t rehearse the negative. Don’t forget your victories. ● A commanded blessing follows them who give God first place in their lives. You become a magnet for God's goodness. ● Be someone's miracle: God will bring people across our path so that we can be the answer to their prayer. Have this attitude, "I am a miracle waiting to happen". ● When you take time to invest in others, the seeds you sow will always come back to you. Helping others might be the key tonseeing your situation turn around. ● True religion doesn't judge people to see if they deserve our help.
A solid book, and a very easy read, that basically says you should help others, and think big, and God will give you blessings that he has prepared for you.
In the Abundance Mind-Set, Joel Osteen has written a brand-new book on how to change our thoughts and to think positive things. He begins the book by asking readers what the vision for their lives is and where do they see themselves in the future and their families. He reminded readers of the importance of what the scriptures declares about our thoughts and as a man thinks of himself so he is. He encouraged readers to picture good things and have an abundance mind-set and to see themselves accomplishing their dreams, overcoming obstacles, addictions, seeing their families restored, seeing themselves blessed, and seeing themselves married and having children. He looked at the Israelites and how they lived in slavery and in the land of barely enough and they had to journey all the way into the promised land. This land contained milk and honey and it was always flowing and they had plenty. They eventually arrived in their abundance, but they had to face many challenges before they got there.
In the book, he shared many stories from people he met over the years and how God was able to exceed their expectations and they walked into abundance. One of the stories was from a single mother of three children who immigrated from Europe. She applied for a job as a secretary at a university and she had a lot of competition. The interviewer was very rough and wasn’t friendly and she was afraid she might not be able to pass the 5-minute typing test. But through it, she believed in God’s power. When the bell went off at the same time, the phone rang and the lady conducting the test got distracted. She was tempted to stop but the lady who was conducting the test told her to keep going that wasn’t her bell. She ended up typing another five minutes and she got the job. One touch of God’s favor allowed her to pass the typing test. She was able to send all of her three kids to the college for free.
I would recommend this awesome book to anyone who is ready to change their thoughts and they want to have an abundance mindset. The book is a shorter book by Joel Osteen and it only contains 5 chapters. This book was made in a smaller book where readers can take it with them anywhere, they go. It would make an excellent devotional reading and this book is meant to be read over and over again where readers can learn to change their thoughts daily. I immensely enjoyed the chapter on, “Turn Up the Power” because this one discussed how important it is to keep God first in our lives and how he will put a commanded blessing on our lives. Joel Osteen shared how we need to remind ourselves positive things and to have faith that God can make our dreams come to pass. He explained the power of the magnet and how we can apply this concept to our lives. We have to focus on the positive and believe that God is attracting good things for our lives. He shared how we need to be believing healing is coming for us, favor is headed our way, abundance is looking for us, the right person is trying to find us. We don’t need to focus on the wrong things such as bad things are going to occur, we will never get married, our finances will never improve, we won’t ever get well, and our dreams won’t come to pass. I liked how Joel Osteen encouraged believers to seek God and let the blessings seek after us and we don’t have to be exhausted and frustrated and catch after them. If readers will apply the principles and the lessons, included in this book, we would see a rise of positive, abundance thinking.
"I received this book free from the publisher, Faithwords for my honest review.”
The first (few) question(s) that come to one’s mind are: What is this abundance mindset? Why should we have this mindset? How can we achieve this mindset?
The answer is simple: everyone wants to be happy, successful, and live a peaceful and joyful life in this world. Of course, these are subjective. However, all have their own yardstick to measure their growth and success.
If you want to be all of this, first and foremost, believe and think (visualise) that you are a happy, successful, and joyful person. It is not that easy, though. But you have to firmly believe and get rid of negative images that are lurking deep in your subconscious mind.
If you want to turn your dream into a reality, a positive vision is the first step that you will have to take in your life’s success journey.
Even though the author follows a particular faith, and the book quotes scriptures and stories from that faith, this book is for followers of all faiths and religions and is for everyone who wants to become a better and successful human in this modern world.
He starts the chapter by explaining about three types of mindsets that people have in common: barely enough (BE), just enough (JE), and more than enough (MTE). If you are in the BE or JE zones, never settle for them. Always strive to make it to MTE (the land of abundance).
Because the almighty, or nature, has given you the potential to achieve your greatness. You just have to find the right key to unlock your MTE door.
Once you are in the MTE section, there is no turning back, as the universe will provide you with abundant power to reach higher goals and never settle for mediocrity.
The narrator, time and again, reiterates that one should always set their expectations higher by upgrading oneself, getting rid of negative emotions, and replacing them with good memories.
What he means is that it is always “expectations” that limit our progress in life, so always keep it higher and go on upgrading until you reach the pinnacle, as success gates will be sure-shot opened (meeting the right people at the right time) as you put in the necessary work with sincerity and hard work.
He then introduces a term called ‘commanded blessings’, which is like a magnet from the universe (or God) that will turn up your power/mindset to attract the right people and progress in life - at times, even without your effort. When this positive approach is followed, there will be no more obstacle, and what follows will be a miracle when you dream, believe, and pray big.
The last chapter is all about miracle – the ones not happening to you but you turning into one. The concept that you turning into a miracle in someone’s life will definitely be reciprocated through the universe is a timely reminder that humanity needs good humans (samaritans) for the upliftment of society as well as oneself.
Overall, there is truth to what the author has said in these pages of this book. It is up to us to believe in and apply this “abundance mindset” approach to thrive and flourish.
He looks like a sheep, but underneath, he is a ravenous wolf! It's all phony. He is deceiving God's people. He starts out with pretending to pursue God, and end with his real goal for you- focus on success. Read KUNDALINI WARNING - Are False Spirits Invading the Church? By Andrew Strom. God showed me that Word of Faith is operated by the Kundalini spirit. Joel is a false prophet. This is a powerful spirit. It's a test. Read your bible. Kundalini twists the Word of God. Word of Faith tells you you need to tithe in order to be blessed. But where should you tithe? Is it definitely Joel? Do you believe in the fruits of their ministry? So he can get even richer while you stay poor. Does he not know what he is telling you is a lie? Or it's always God's will to give you wealth and health. What about Job? His story is our story, that we will lose things in this life. Doesn't mean we don't have enough faith. Read Jesus Goes To McDonald's by Luiz Alexandre Solano Rossi. Having a great life is a lie. When you become a Christian, the devil is after you. Everyday a battle, not a cushion. Or not to question those in positions of spiritual power. Yet Paul called out false teachers! Word of Faith movement is a bunch of garbage. If you accept it, you will, like me, have years of struggle, where you are looking for a "sign" God is with you. The only sign is His Word! They talk about not being "religious," as if an empty undiscerning mind ready to accept false doctrines is the Way to accept God. You must hold on to the true doctrine. Matthew 24:10-13 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. Once saved, always saved is a lie. To be saved, you must confess you are a sinner, that you put your trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior and will submit to Him in all things, including every part of your life, and with His help, that you will stop sinning. The deception here is really great! The manipulation is subtle, but with the Holy Spirit's help you can detect it. Truth mixed with lies is LIES. The positivity, the blabbing out promises without faith, the holding God hostage- Sure you can hold God hostage, but will He really find no falsehood among you? Joel Osteen is bewitching you, and lulling you to sleep. Watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TB4QF.... See if these teachings really stand up to the light of the Word of God.

The Abundance Mind-Set is an inspirational book by author Joel Osteen.
Success starts in our minds with an abundance outlook. In this short, concise book the reader will be challenged to pay attention to how they think. Are you a negative thinker or a positive thinker. Both thought cycles can have an impact on our health, good or bad.
I agree that this is an inspiring book, but I can’t say I agree with everything the author says.

This is an uplifting book. It explains the need for positive thinking and helping others in need. I have read several of the books Joel has written, and practice the principles of I am, and I pray daily, for others. The only thing I would suggest is that you find other examples to use in your books. Like the babies hugging, the lady that is kind enough to go out of her way to take an older lady to church. While wonderful examples, when reading several books by this author it is like he cut and pasted these stories from one book to the next. There are many example of healing hugs and people who dared to care. Do a little research and change the stories up a bit. I read a lot and am well educated. I don't like reading the same things over and over.
In The Abundance Mind-Set, Joel Osteen inspires readers to shift their thinking from scarcity to abundance, emphasizing faith in God’s provision.
Using the biblical journey of the Israelites from Egypt to the Promised Land—a land flowing with milk and honey—Osteen illustrates how trusting in God’s promises can lead us to a life of fulfillment.
This book encourages adopting a mindset that believes in God’s blessings, even in the face of adversity. It’s a motivational guide for those looking to deepen their faith, embrace gratitude, and open themselves to greater possibilities in life.
I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway and it just happened to arrive while we are in the midst of restrictions due to the Covid pandemic and much uncertainty. I am familiar with Joel Osteen, but probably would not have read this book if I had not received it through this giveaway. Overall, I am glad I did. I cannot say much has changed since I received this, but the message for hope and a future was timely considering the current events unfolding in our world.
Such a wonderful and inspiring quick read. It's always nice to be reminded how we can be a great miracle in our own little ways to other people. That's totally amazing and heartwarming. In this little book, it teaches how our affection and care matters to others even so it seem not to us. I would highly recommend this book . It's a quick read but would suggest to read it slow and absorb the message.
Wonderful reading that is definitively worth reading
Yes you will be blessed. I'm am emotional guy so some of the share stories put tears in my eyes because touched my heart. Especially the rescuing hugs twin stories. Nonetherless, the book is good and worth reading. The thing i didn't see is, i wished Joel Osteen would quote the Bible more. He rarely quotes scriptures and when he does he gives no reference as of chapter or verse amd sometimes not mentioning the book.
Once again Joel has been an instrument in God’s hands to bless His people! This book and it’s message are so timely and perfect for life today. Though the message is a simple one, change your expectations, the results are most powerful! To have a miracle become a miracle!
I’ve loved Joel’s podcasts for a while and only realised I could buy the kindle version of his books. I am so pleased I read this. Joel is incredibly interesting and inspiring.
I like the fact that Joel Osteen is such an inspiring and encouraging writer and teacher. I found a drive to continue to pushing myself to be positive throughout life and to believe I deserve all the good no matter the circumstance. A good simple read :)
It is a wonderful book especially when you feel low on life. A lot of things we already know but it feels great knowing from other perspectives. Anyone who likes to hear Joel Osteen preaching will definitely be in love with this book.
Not as good as I expected ~ There are so many scriptures in the Bible that speak life’ abundance and expectations He could have made the book much more uplifting
A quick spiritual read that you will read multiple times during your life. A powerful message that will have you referring back to certain chapters and a great message during this trying time.
