While the spiritual atmosphere grows more toxic and the world becomes more anti-God, Christians are engaging less and less with their faith in Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. We do not have to fear the future. But we must not be surprised by it or be unprepared to face it.
In this insightful book, David Sliker helps readers understand and prepare for a future filled with glory and victory for the church, unfolding in the context of unprecedented rage, rebellion, and resistance by the world around us. Full of practical application, this book connects readers to the current storm that is upon us, contextualizing today's news, current events, and cultural narratives through the lens of biblical prophecy and the return of Jesus.
The greatest days of the church lie ahead. We can stand strong, persevere, and overcome in these days!
David Sliker is a senior leader at the International House of Prayer Missions Base in Kansas City, Missouri, where he lives with his wife, Tracey, and their three children, Riley, Lauren and Daniel. He is an instructor at International House of Prayer University, where he teaches classes about the End-Times.
This book is needed in the Christian community! A must-read for our generation. Filled with wisdom for our age and what’s coming, we can learn how to prepare our hearts to endure. Our culture is shifting faster than ever to a non-Christian environment. Hostile to all whom stand on Gods principles. We will need to love others, whom will have a growing hatred towards us, and hang onto our faith during persecution. It is coming soon and we must do the heart work necessary to be able to stand. We have to keep our lamps filled with oil and get rid of all earthly distractions. Now is the time to prepare!

The author seems to think that this book is one of the most important ones that a reader will encounter. While I am not sure if that is the case, as a man who encounters many books, this book certainly is a very striking book in the way that it seeks to deal with the tension between the recognition that God is in charge and things are going according to His plans, however it may seem, and that the nations rage against God's people because they remind them of their rebellion against their Creator and Lord. That tension is a fascinating one and is the subject of a great deal of thoughtful and worthwhile writing by the author as he blends post-millennial optimism with some downbeat reflection on the reality of near-future persecution. This is a complex book, and anyone reading it should not expect an easy one to deal with or understand, but it is a book that it is easy to appreciate nonetheless, even if one's own prophetic perspective is likely to be a bit different than the author's is.
This book is between 200 and 250 pages and it is divided into three parts and twelve chapters that deal with different aspects of the writer's prophetic thinking. After a foreword and introduction, the book begins with a discussion of the church and the coming storm of glory that the author sees ahead (I), which includes chapters on how to engage in the future now (1), divine justice and the return of Jesus (2), three storms that will change the world (3), the coming storm of revival that the author expects to usher in the millennium (4), the storm of rage among those who are hostile to God's ways (5), and the coming storm of political and economic disruption that one can expect to come in the future (6). After that there is a brief discussion of the Church in an anti-Christian age (II) with chapters on the birth of cultural narratives (7) and the modern cultural narrative (8). The rest of the book then contains discussion of the promise of the victorious church (III), with chapters on the way of victory and redemption (9), preparing the next generation (10), burning and shining lamps (11), and being counted worthy of this calling (12), after which the book ends with notes.
Ultimately, this book appears to be written in a sense of post-millennial optimism. Post-millennial optimism is to be differentiated from pre-millennial optimism in that pre-millennial optimism depends on the establishment of God's rule over earth by Jesus Christ himself in opposition to a hostile and rebellious world. This amounts to a massive discontinuity in human history and a recognition of the failure of the world to heed the example of the godly in their midst. On the other hand, post-millennial optimism assumes that the rebelliousness and hostility of unredeemed mankind is merely the resistance to a future revival that will lead to a great and powerful conversion of humanity to God's ways. The author appears to be a post-millennial optimist, and it certainly colors his expectations of the near future as he swerves between caution and fervent hope that these times and the crises of these times means that the spread of the Gospel through the earth is almost here, while this reader is a pre-millennial optimist in having no such expectations of widespread conversion to take place in the absence of God's firm rule. Regardless of one's eschatalogical approach, though, there is much to enjoy and appreciate about this book and the author's own discussion of prophecy and societal trends.
In the Nations Rage, David Sliker explored the topic of Biblical prophecy and how the return of Jesus is coming soon. He shared how the nations will soon rage against the church. He described how there will be three things that will happen: a great crisis and a shaking and changing of the nations, great glory will be displayed in the church, and a judgement from Heaven will rain down. David opened up about the importance of love, in the end days, while waiting on Christ’s return to Earth for His people. We are told in scripture about how the love will grow cold. He also revealed how no one will know the time or the hour that Christ will return and it is compared to how Noah didn’t know the hour of the flood or when it would occur. It is explained how one worker was working in the mill and one was taken and one wasn’t. Throughout the book, he looked at the signs and wonders that is to come. One of the first signs was found in Joel and this is going to be a great revival among the church and young and old believers will be in unity across all denominational lines and cultures. Joel also stated how the Holy Spirit will be released among all believers and they will be able to do miracles, healing, and much more. All believers will be declaring the Christ is returning and there will be unity. At the same time, we will be facing opposition from the world around us. Another sign is the shaking of the world and we will see many changes happening everywhere across the globe. We see in scriptures in two different chapters about how the things that can be shaken will be and they will be removed. The earth will eventually be transformed in the end and Christ will rebuilt His Kingdom.
I would recommend this awesome book to anyone is interested in the end times and prophecy and the role the Church is going to be playing. I immensely liked how in depth he went into in exploring the signs and wonders and how the Church will one day soon be in unity and how we will all be one in Christ. I learned a lot about how the earth will be shaken and we will see crisis all over the globe and nations will be in raged. It was eye opening about how he warned believers that something major will occur and it will turn nations against Israel, their people, God, and the Church. I liked how he also explored the city of Babylon and the corruption and also the New Jerusalem that is to come. There is a great hope that in the end Christ will prevail and He will have the final victory.
"I received this book free from the publisher, Bethany House/ Chosen for my honest review.”
Another Chosen publication which might be catalogued Christian Living or Social Issue, unlike most of their spiritual warfare type of book. One good thing about most Chosen books is they do not bring into their books, political figures in today’s life. They are big on proclamation of Jesus and his return and are not big into tell all the dirt publications that are always written by people and groups who claim to know the end of life using current figures. These books are not my cup of tea, they claim to give clarity to the passion and purpose of Christ in these crucial years, where fear of end times and knowing right answers is so important. They use Revelations and chosen verses to back up theories of end times. This one is slightly better than most in that it has notes in the back of the book so you can check references. Psalm 2 is held up to highlight the reason for the book. Few main line churches proport to follow this theme but in these strange political times in our nation, one can be drawn into more theories or explanations. Give me good solid teaching by theologians and the ability to question stanches and ideas. If this is your kind of reading Chosen publications, a division of Baker books is for you.
David Silker is an amazing Bible teacher and when I found out he was releasing a book I needed to get my hands on it. He carries such a deep revelation of the word of God combined with a deep passion for the bride of Christ and revival... in this book he deals very poignantly with what is going on in our world and, with the assumption that as “shaking, persecution, and turmoil” increases, so will revival... but in order to steward this move of God we need to be passionate in pursuing Him in prayer and through His word. I recommend this book if you want to be challenged out of comfortable Christianity and are wrestling with how we are called to embody Christ in the world today.
This book had a stunning writing and compelling to read with that also can be very helpful to all of us that living in a fascinating world full of technology go beyond the future and forget to our faith on God it also can destroy us as well. This book will guide and prepare to all of us about what will come to the end of age. I highly recommend to everyone must to read this book. “ I received complimentary a copy of this book from Chosen for this review”.
It is the revelation Jesus—the man behind the plan. This what I like about this book. Yes, it speaks of the escalations darkness that is about to come on planet earth, but nothing compares to the glory that will come to His church as He leads passionately!
I highly recommend this book to those who wants to know the Man (Jesus) behind the this unprecedented events that will take place before He will return!
Dave’s pastoral heart shines through in this book by laying out the biblical case for the days ahead to be the greatest and most difficult for the church, without any hype or hyperbole. And in the latter part of the book he calls the reader back to prepare himself and the next generation for the days ahead by pursuing the place of intimacy with Jesus and a life grounded in the 1st commandment. Highly recommend!
Very timely word for the world today. A practical look at where we are and where we are headed. How to align our hearts with God's heart and stay unoffended in the days to come.
The Nations Rage is unlike most books about end times. This book focuses on being prepared in heart and spirit for the coming days of revival and persecution.
