The tale of two families . . . Freddy Trujillo is on the worst vacation of his life. After a rejected proposal, Freddy cheats on his boyfriend and must salvage the rest of the trip with his sister and her boyfriend. Meanwhile, something has killed all Jim Walker’s chickens. Once the sun sets, he and his son, Clive, hunt for the creature that drained the fowl. Clive is attacked by wild pigs. A needle-fanged, hairless monster comes to Clive’s rescue and he names her Cooter, keeping her a secret, not knowing she’s a chupacabra. Jim takes Clive on a snake hunt to recoup the cost of the lost chickens but the two are attacked by Curious Ol’ Bob, a bisexual skunk ape, and they barely make it out alive. Freddy and his family are camping in the same everglades and it’s up to Clive and Cooter to save them from Curious Ol’ Bob.
Someone once told me there’s an old Buddhist curse of an interesting life. My family and I have been both cursed, and blessed.
My family has survived health disasters, homelessness, financial destitution, and family abandonment worthy of any day time soap drama.
Yet throughout I have learned that the most important thing of all is to never give up, and never stop loving the ones closest to my heart. My family.

So this was the first book that I had to put down for a few minutes, after reading the first page. I needed to process the insanity of the immediate content, lol. So this was my first experience reading Lucas Milliron and was by far the most vulgar and deranged book I've ever come across. A bisexual, sexually aggressive, killer skunk ape named Curious Ole' Bob is just a concept that no one could have been ready for. The story was pretty simple and straightforward, with decent writing and gagworthy content times, but was a lot of fun. Be prepared for extreme details in places that you hope there wouldn't be, and to laugh out loud over and over again. Pour a drink, take a deep breath, and make an appointment with your nearest mental health professional as you prepare yourself for Cocksucker.
'See, we call him Curious ol’ Bob because the skunk ape is bi-curious. If it moves, he’ll fuck it. If it’s dead, well . . . he’ll fuck it anyway.'
Wow. Proof there are still taboos and deviancy that only literature can gleefully transgress. (Take that, Game of Thrones. And King Kong.) This is a truly fucked-up, yet curiously tender, story of family, love, lust, vacations from hell, the Everglades, restaurants from hell, things that go bump-and-grind in the night. And chickens.
I've always been a fan of creature horror, I just didn't know it could be this much fun. What an imagination-cool idea and great execution. I don't know why I waited so long to read this. PEOPLE, if you have this in your TBR movie it up. If it's not on your TBR, obviously fucking put it there. 🙄
That was so weird and so enjoyable I couldn't stop reading.. I'm now fully a fan of Cryptic stories and fallen down the bizarre rabbit hole.. I want a Cooter and what the hell was Curious ol' Bob and will there be more from them if so I'm 100% here for it.
What can I say about this book? It’s a fantastic, gruesome ride through the Everglades with The Clampetts (if they were unwashed and incestuous) as your guides. Of course there are killer and disgusting wild animals. A highfalutin group of kids from the West Coast, who only ever serve to get themselves into trouble. And the horniest skunk ape, east of the Mississippi. It was sickening and disgusting and one hell of a story! Definitely recommend....if you’re not weak of stomach. 5 bloody hearts from me 🫀🫀🫀🫀🫀
This is southern fried horror at its strangest and wildest. Anytime you have a book with a bi-curious skunk ape, you know you're in for a unique ride. A whole lot of twisted, dark fun. You won't catch me in Florida anytime soon.
OK, So we have a horny, killer bigfoot...otherwise known as a Skunk Ape, a blood thirsty Cocksucker, and a redneck incestuous family. What more could you possibly want? Reminds me a little bit of some of Edward Lees stuff, although not quite as messed up!! Good fun!
This is a fun, nasty little tale with a lot of gross imagery. It has a pretty interesting spin on known cryptids as well. I'd definitely put this in the "B-movie as a book" category, but that's clearly what Milliron was going for, and he pulls it off well.
It's just your typical Florida vacation. While an unsuspecting group of young adults take in the sights of the swamps, enjoy some redneck home cookin’ and hear some unexplainable local folklore. These vacationers do not know what’s in store for them. Lucas Milliron brings a new twist to the vacation from "hell!” Who knew that a simple getaway turns into more than a group of travelers could endure. What a wild ride! Milliron taught me two things, don’t believe everything you read In a brochure and if you smell something foul, run, you don't want to know where it's comimg from. The reader will be entertained and left needing a scrubbing and hot shower after this read. Just remember if it doesn't have a five star Yelp review you probably should choose a different vacation spot.
Bi- sexual skunk apes, a chupacabra, incestuous family members and a 4-some of vacationers. Yes, all of these things are in Lucas Milliron's "Cocksucker". This was a great little novella with a dank setting, fleshed-out characters and dark humor. This book has some graphic violence and sex, but is well done. Plus it has one of my favorite characters, Curious ol' Bob, the bi sexual skunk ape. If you like cryptids and hillbillies, this book is for you.
This was a bizarre book with great creatures, lots of terror and a little bit of humor. Definitely worth a read if you like your books on the strange side.
Cocksucker is a joyride through the swamps of Florida. Lucas Milliron paints a not-so-pretty picture of an Everglades populated by incestuous hillbillies, cryptids, and wild pigs...essentially what anyone outside of Florida expects to find in Florida. We first meet Clive as he and his sister, Abigail, are enjoying each other's company in a way most of us hope our children never will. The true miracle of this book is that the hillbilly family, and Clive in particular, ultimately come across as sympathetic by the end of this tale. Not many books featuring inbred families manage to make those same people the heroes of the story, and yet that's precisely what the reader will find within these pages. Sure, they're disgusting people in essentially every way one might imagine, but they're also quirky, funny, and--most importantly--human. When the henhouse is destroyed and the chickens are slaughtered and exsanguinated, Clive is forced to accompany his father on a hunt for the chupacabra-like creature responsible. Instead, Clive makes his first real friend, and that is only the beginning of this strange adventure. In the meantime, a suddenly tense vacation for a group traveling from Florida back home to California leads them on a collision course with the inhuman residents of the swamp where Clive and his family live, and it's safe to assume none of them will be the same again, assuming that they survive. If you only read one book containing graphic depictions of men being raped by a skunk ape, Cocksucker should be that book. Are there other books with that subject matter? I don't know. Frankly, I don't care. This is the only one you ever need to read.
Skunk Ape vs Chupacabra! This crypto-throwdown moves fast and features plenty of gore and gross-out shenanigans. Plays like a slasher flick where the slashers are urban legend monsters. If you love Troma films, this one's right up your alley, as it were.
A Cryptozoological and Hillbilly Horror Tale Lover’s Wet Dream!
Cocksucker by Lucas Milliron is a book that the title alone will catch your attention. No, don’t get your mind out of the gutter because there are plenty of nasty goodies in this read. However, the title isn’t what you would think it is. If you love cryptids, Southern Horror, and very well crafted characters you need to grab your copy stat!
Cocksucker begins with a bang right out of the gates! I will not divulge this information, because it is sure to suck you depraved horror fanatics in with the first sentence as it did to me. The novel follows two storylines. One involving a very abnormal backwoods family in the Everglades. One involving a trip that a brother and sister and their significant others are on together. Both storylines are funny, sad, and gross at times, but always interesting.
Clive is the son of Jim and has a sister Abigail. Jim’s wife, Margay, mainly stays inside. Things are beginning to become strange in their neck of the Everglades when some mysterious creature has sucked all the blood from their hens. Jim knows it couldn’t be Curious Ol Bob because that just isn’t his style. Jim forces Clive to help him hunt the unknown creature, but when Clive makes friends with the animal he secretly wants to keep her and names her Cooter.
The other storyline features Jennifer, Dean, Freddy, and Winston. This foursome seems like the unlikely group to be vacationing in the Everglades, and even more unlikely to camp in the wilderness. They already have so much drama already brewing they have no idea of the dangers that lurk in the night of the Everglades. Not just alligators, snakes, and insects, but the true monstrosities. One animal that loves to drain the life force from its victims, and the other who likes to play with its food in not so nice ways.
As the story progresses the storylines eventually merge. Lucas really pulled a quick one on me here, because I figured it would end quite differently once the two parties met up. Once the cryptids have reeked havoc all over the Everglades, killing, mutilating, and defiling people all chaos ensues. Will the people be able to team up and take the monsters down? Who is really the monster? Will any of them make it out alive?
Lucas Milliron has a very enjoyable writing style. His words are easy to digest while also painting a vivid landscape, and fleshed out characters. This tale of cryptids, incest, sexual depravity, beastiality, blood, gore, and death is fantastically executed! I really think Lucas has an insane amount of talent, and I will greatly enjoy reading his other works. This is my opinion, Lucas Milliron could be the next Edward Lee. Yes, I said it! I feel that Milliron’s style resonates very much the same way as the great Mr. Lee!
All in all, I give Cocksucker by Lucas Milliron four Skunk Apes out of five Chupacabras! I absolutely enjoyed the story, and it was nearly free of blemishes. Nonetheless, I had a couple of things that made me deduct a star. Very minor mind you. First, I felt the pacing in the middle of the book was a bit slow for a brief period. Although, interesting and served the storyline, I did get slightly bored when Jennifer, Dean, Freddy, and Winston were on the air boat ride and eating at the Red Crab. However, it was short lived. The other aspect is I kept having a feeling that there was going to be something happening between the locals and the tourists, and Lucas kind of threw a curve ball. It was clever, but I was hoping for something a bit different with the ending. (I’m trying to be vague as to not give away spoilers). Honestly, overall these two small aspects should be overlooked. It is my humble opinion, but I promise you in my humble opinion Cocksucker is a great read! I also, in my humble opinion, firmly feel that Lucas has the styling of the big man Edward Lee, and I don’t say that lightly.
I want to thank Drew Stepek for creating Godless.com, and the Hype Horde! It is like a cozy home full of amazingly fun and deranged siblings. If you haven’t checked out what Godless.com has to offer you need to rectify that! The exclusives are superb, and you cannot get them anywhere else! Again, I want to say Drew is very passionate, and has a huge heart to make a good impact and difference in the world. There is so much child prostitution and trafficking happening in the world, let alone in the States. Stepek is highly active in raising awareness, and devoting time and donations to the wonderful non profit Children of the Night. This non profit helps get children in hard situations, such as forced prostitution and trafficking off the streets, back into a normal routine, and the mental and physical treatments they need upon so much more. The amazing gear you can get at Godless.com helps in this as some proceeds go to Children of the Night. However, please visit and donate is you have the means http://www.childrenofthenight.org/donate. I know this will really mean a lot to Drew, and the children’s lives you would be impacting on a positive note. Until next time, my friends.
3.5 rounded up • Not real sure what to say about this one. Obviously, it’s not for everyone. This novella about a bisexual skunk ape and a chupacabra that haunt the Florida swamps an incestuous family call home is every bit as depraved and ridiculous as you can imagine. • The character development is pretty good. The story is a bit rambling, but overall it was an entertaining read that made me laugh out loud as much as it made me cringe. The opening sentence and ending sentence were 👌🏼 There wasn’t enough depth in the writing or story to make this a five star read for me personally, but that wasn’t what I was expecting from this one. • Cocksucker was a quick, fun read I’d recommend for fans of extreme horror and cryptid tales. • Oh, and Dean got what he fucking deserved🍆🍑
This was crazy fun. Fast paced, brutal gore, with a proposal gone all kinds of wrong. Curiosity killed the cat, in more ways than I care to acknowledge.
Skunk apes with wild libidos, blood-drinking chupacabras, incestuous swamp folk, and a couple of vacationers who stumble into the pure untethered chaos of it all, Milliron delivers the goods in this novel from start to finish. It's like a Florida Man meme pumped full of steroids, and it'll stain the mind, aiming to repulse and entertain in equal measure. Milliron is a major talent, and this is a story you won't soon forget (lest you suffer the wrath of Curious Ol' Bob)
One of the most bizarre stories I've read in a while.Skunk apes, backwoods monsters of unknown origin and some screwed up people equal a very entertaining story
In this story we follow two family’s. Jim’s family, after finding all their chickens killed with all the blood sucked out of them. Jim takes his son ( if you wanna call him that lol) out to go hunting for whatever did it. When Jessica and her fiancé and brother and his boyfriend go on a road trip things aren’t exactly going the way they plan it to, due to her brothers actions or things not working out the way it was planned they just want the trip to end, all but Jessica’s fiancé. In the midst of all of this there is Curious Bob, which if not painfully obvious by the name of is basically a monster that smells of skunk and likes men and women.
This was such a fun and brutal story I was actually laughing out loud at this book ( which is a compliment i never laugh lolll). The writing was so fun and never felt corny or campy. It had such a light hearted humor which is crazy to say for the content matter lol. This was so gruesome and hilarious at the same time. All of the characters I liked and they all had such different but genuinely fun personalities that’s flowed together really well. This is my first story from Lucas but it will not be my last!
What happens when you take the backwoods hillbilly shenanigans of Edward Lee and the Cryptid driven narratives of Hunter Shea? You get Cocksucker! Milliron has a fantastic writing style that really shines in this novella. I went into this only knowing that the book contained Chupacabras and Skunk Apes, but this book is so much more. I’m between the scenes of relationship drama and horny cryptids, there is a boy and his dog story that will warm your heart and have you hoping it doesn’t end like Ol Yeller. Milliron juggles the multiple storylines and POV’s flawlessly, and weaves their lives into an action packed climax. Don’t look past this book because of the name. From the very first crazy line (what an opener!) you’ll be caught in the hands of Curious Ol’ Bob and won’t be able to escape!
A backwoods incestuous Florida family and a travelling couple plus brother and fiance come across two very strange creatures. Bigfoot and the Chupacabra meet Florida man. Fast paced and never a boring moment!
I loved this book. Maybe it’s because I was born in Hialeah, raised in St. Petersburg, and have family scattered along the towns of A1A from Miami/Ft. Lauderdale to up St. Augustine/Jacksonville. Raised in “old” Florida was a different experience. It really was kinda country. I lived on a dirt road. My father used to hunt in the Everglades and fish/shrimp in the Gulf. Eating gator and shark was not unusual in Florida. I’m old enough to remember Alligator Alley when it was a damn near barren two-lane highway you had to drive on for drive on for two+ hours—through swamp wilderness—with no place to stop. No gas station. No rest area. It’s where you dumped bodies, if you know what I mean. Anyway, reading this just made me remember a different state from the crowded, expensive over-populated tourist state it’s become. I live in “rural” Florida now (have left the the costal Tampa Bay Area for inland Plant City/Lakeland area) but do miss the childhood adventures of visiting with my cousins in Gainesville or Ocala and riding bikes on dirt roads in wooded areas, running from alligators and cotton mouths and rabid dogs, of exploring a world rich in flora and fauna, swimming and fishing in lakes and streams, etc. We’d leave at sunrise and not return until sunset. — but for real, there are some weird things in the swamps. (lol) Maybe the author is writing a little truth in this hilarious book of Florida hillbilly horror.
What a funny tale. I laughed from start to finish. If you are easily offended don't go near it. I believe i will read some more from this author. Funny but kind of sweet 😆
It's pretty hard for a movie, let alone a book, to surprise me with a violent attack, but Cocksucker did just that. It actually surprised me so much that I found my hand on my forehead and my mouth shaping the words "Oh no, oh no, oh no." Cocksucker is a delightful mix of gag-worthy gross-out and heartfelt connection with a healthy serving of cryptids.
Wow, what a fun story! Grossly entertaining. If you’re not into extreme gross-outs and splatter sprinkled with humor throughout, this book probably isn’t for you. If you’re like me and drawn to the gory and gross, then jump right in. The revulsion begins from the very first page.
This story drew me in from the very beginning. The vivid descriptions, fleshed out characters, and superb storytelling kept me reading. It was repulsive, obscene, and one helluva story. The ending left me laughing out loud. Highly recommend this one.
