They call me Uniter of Realms, Bringer of Peace, High Queen. But I don't know how to be any of that.
Five realms hang in the balance, three races whose lives depend on magic, and one corrupt king hoarding it all for himself.
My role? Oh, just fixing it. Easy, right?
But a handful of sexy realm leaders insist I’m the human-born with demon blood—each vying for attention, each one’s touch drawing something strange and blissful from me. Sweet, attentive Callum, pragmatic and commanding Sorin, dark and intuitive Verrill, and icy, collected Jadzeera. Each one has something to teach me—about magic and about myself.
The longer I stay in these hell realms the closer I grow to each realm leader, the more my power grows and the more I realize I cannot simply have one realm leader.
I need them all by my side—and in my bed—to bring the realms back together.
Demon Called is a fast-burn FFMMM RH. This fun, sexy ride is packed full of seductive demons, a smart heroine, a wisecracking best friend, and a teleporting cat.
Jewel Killian writes spicy paranormal romance in lots of subgenres but generally sticks to the different flavors of reverse harem. Monsters, omegaverse, fae ... who knows what's coming next but you can trust it'll melt your kindle and make you wish you magic was realy.
Zurie and her horde are fun. Reading RH can feel a bit wearisome at times. Who actually ever has to figure out all of those male parts and manage egos too? When you read RH the way I do, it is really refreshing to finally find a horde with lady interest. This is the first in well over one hundred reads that went there, and balanced all the parts perfectly. Kudos to the author for breaking out of a mold and reshaping things. Also, I want to say that this author found a way to have the heroine actually figure things out without spending too much time on her baggage. It’s there, but Zurie immediately jumps beyond. Love it.
It got slow at some points but it was worth it! I love how she weaves this story. I did think it was odd that zurie was just cool with being a human born demon but then she stated how she never had the time to process it and that made sense to me as I’m sure the shock of it and being thrust into an act now think later situation made it so she didn’t have time to think of all the ramifications.. Jewel has a way with world building and I really enjoyed the differences in the realms. Definitely a book I’d recommend.
So this is a strong 3.5 for me. I liked the story but I thought it was a bit scattered. It is also too insta love for my normal taste. It was a good book though.
This was a pretty ok series. Human turned Demon Queen with built in harem. Magic makes all things possible. Human best friend/sidekick. The FMC was a little unbelievable in what she just rolled with.
Gotta confess, the story drew me in more than the sexytimes. A good book, in spite of all the hetero bed bouncing (with the occasional FF bed bouncing by way of our heroine apparently being bi). Interesting enough I'd read more in this universe should the author take it any further. 4 stars.
This book was funny, with suspense, action and drama and lots of smexing it up with her horde. Go Zurie!! Wish we could all find a bit of fantasy like this book
3 & 1/2 stars rounded up. Ok, this started off great, I was really enjoying it, book 1 pulled me in. It was unique & held my interest. Book 2, was still good, though I wasn't quite feeling as into the whole thing as I was in book 1. The plot sort of went a bit wonky & seemed kind of lame in places. Book 3, now this was problematic, I almost put it down to quit several times, as I hated how the RH was treating Zurie. I was really not liking the other 4 original characters that I liked to start with. Though if it weren't for wanting to see how Dex gets integrated into the RH, as the new addition, was interesting in his own way. If it weren't for Dex, I probably would have quit the last 1/2 of book 3. The biggest problem I had with the series, I never felt the actual love, like the whole RH with Zurie would not have happened if it had not been her being prophesized about. She felt more like- as she put it, a cog in the wheel than a love situation in the RH. That was only reinforced that they all fell back into their previous attitudes when they stopped having sex with her. I wanted the whole RH to be in love with her, not just because she was the High Queen. Would definitely not re-read this either.
I absolutely LOVED these books. I love how the story line stayed strong all the way through to the end. The amount of detail in every character was noticed and greatly appreciate! LOVED IT!!
