A well-illustrated counting primer, featuring ten beautiful dogs. I loved the eclectic mix of humans, and trying to match them with their adopted pooches.

Ten dogs, all of different breeds, are in a shop window. As people come by, each one chooses a dog that is perfect for them. This is counting from 10 to one and it’s nicely illustrated.

This book, Ten Dogs in the Window, was such a great read! I will definitely love to have this book in my future classroom because I had so much fun reading it that I know my future students will enjoy reading it as well. Also, it incorporates counting while reading so it would be great to use in a simple math lesson counting to ten. My only negative thought is that I wish there was a Ten Cats book by the same author. I'm partial to cats.

This was fun! The text is repetitious, but that's great for a toddler. Not only that, we were able to make up stories about the characters and their personal lives. Do they families at home? Other dogs? Does that man know that dogs shouldn't eat ice cream? Why are the dogs eating each other? The library edition of this book came with a bonus torn page sewn together by tape that made both the people and dog seem a bit deformed for a couple pages. You bet we had a nice long talk about that!

I think that the reason I am giving this such a high review is because I have such happy memories of reading this one to my children. And then even better memories of them reading it to me. They loved to talk about how each of the dogs looked like the owners. This a great counting book.

I loved this book! It was a feel good book with a great message. It also includes counting as a skill! The "w" sound can be heard 30 times in the initial position of words in this story. Happy reading!

Counts down from "10 perros en la tienda ven a la gente pasar. Parece que alguien se acerca... Que bien nos vamos a llevar!" Plenty of repetition and adorable dogs in the store window make for an appealing read aloud.

A great book for K3-1st graders! After I read this aloud in our school library, it became a favorite and kids lined up to check it out!

It's fun to guess which dog the person is going to pick plus it has a (spoiler alert!!!) happy ending!

You know that old saying a dog looks like their owner?
