Welcome to Hell #8

Bride of the Sea Monster

Rate this book
Watch out for those umbrella drinks. Not even one day at sea, and I find myself the bride of a sea monster.
In order to break a curse, I am supposed to marry a sea monster. Considering I only barely tolerate seafood, that isn’t going to work for me.
Nor will I be guilted into doing it. Why should I wreck my life for a stranger?
Instead, I leave on a cruise and get bitch-slapped by fate. The first night aboard, not only do I get wasted, I accidentally wind up married to the multi-armed beast I’d sworn to avoid.
Turns out he’s not half bad, though, which is why I am trying to find a way to break the curse before he turns into a monster forever.

Cute couple. Another part of a larger plot it seems, with some Dorothy and Shax teasing. I liked how V was so defensive about sea monsters. The tentacle talks were sweet. Lucifer was entertaining as always creating chaos.

If it wasn't for a challenge, I'm not sure I would have read this book, which is honestly surprising given how much scif-i I read and love. This book was so much fun and I loved the creative liberties the author took within her world. As I read this book without reading others in the series I can say this will work as a standalone. It was also a super quick read and very lighthearted & fun.
When both MCs escape their lives by going on a cruise neither can guess what fate has in store for them. Being bound by a curse is something neither wants and so they use the cruise as a getaway, her from her so-called obligations and him as an acceptance of how his life will play out. When they get their flirt on and wake up married, neither realizes they unknowingly fulfilled half the curses' requirements. With days left can they fall in love to break the curse? What happens when the heroine sees the heroes true form? Or will he truly accept his fate to haunt the seas for Lucifer? Considering she works in the Underworld and both are on an Earth side cruise barrelling right through the Bermuda Triangle, anything is possible! May have to check out more from the series because this was just an overall fun read and I'd love to see more of this supernatural embracing world.

I enjoyed this story. Even though it was fairly short it still gave you a lot of information as well as a great story.

Sasha is not trying to marrying anyone. She knows that at some point she will have to marry a sea monster but she refuses to do that. She things that if she marries a random guy then maybe she will get out of having to marry him. Little does she know that is not the case.

Killian is just trying not to turn into a sea monster. He knows that he has to marry a woman from a family that cursed his line but he does not see how he can do that when she as disappeared. When he meets Sasha he is more than happy to hang out with her until he becomes a sea monster. But when liquor and hormones get involved things get a bit crazy.

This is a good addition this this series. The only real issue I had with is story was that we did not get to know more about SaSha's family. We just know that she is from a family of seers but I want to know more about them.

🎧 Audio Review: Enjoyed the dual narration!

📝 Story Review: Another enjoyable kinda cozy/adventurous paranormal romance short story! (So far both books 7 & 8 have been less than 200 pgs, idk about the rest of the series because these are the only 2 I’ve read thus far.) This story is happening kinda simultaneous to the events in book 7, which I found quite intriguing!

In this story, you have a kraken who’s been cursed and is running out of time to save himself from being a monster underwater forever. The only saving grace would be if a woman from the family that cursed his, would marry him and fall in love with him. But she’s not planning to marry a stranger that’s monstrous in her eyes and time is running out. A series of events transpire and without knowing who the other person is… they wind up hitched. But the curse isn’t broken yet and some nefarious characters kidnap her as time runs out to save him.

Fast paced and yet full of fun, romance and adventure! It’s a cute and lighthearted read!

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5
Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 3/5

This is just one of series that amuses me. It's silly and fun and well a matchmaking Lucifer just makes me giggle, cause of course he's still evil and all. Here we have a kraken and a seer whose ancient family cursed his and now the only way to save himself is to marry a women of the Farseer line and haha she has to truly love him as well. A little finagling on Lucifer's part (like he'd admit to it) and Ian and Sasha find themselves on the same hell cruise on their way to Atlantis.

I'm enjoying this little mini arc in the greater Hell series. It's kind of fun that all this group of books are actually happening simultaneously and so we get to see some actions we've already experienced in the previous book from a different perspective. I loved how spicy Sasha was, she wasn't going to just cave to some fish monster...but she has a good heart and well maybe she was a little hasty with her out and out refusal to have anything to do with Ian. These two find themselves in circumstances neither could have expected, but they are the perfect compliment and of course with some fun banter and actually getting to know each other another Hell couple will be formed.

This book was the next book in the Hell Cruise arc of the Welcome to Hell series. We get to see old characters from previous books fall in love with new characters and in a sense, new monsters.

Sasha, a seer, gets on a cruise to run away from Killian Kraken, a man who has a bloodline curse to become a Kraken on his 32nd birthday forever. The only thing that could end Killian's curse would be to have Sasha marry him and love him without any outside help.

That's a lot to ask a woman who he has never met. Will she fall in love or will Killian be stuck with tentacles for the rest of his life? Read to find out.

How bad is it when a food reference in a book makes you remember the character more than anything else? Yep, that’s all it took for me to “Sasha!”. Hell’s Cruise strikes again, and this time it is a curse that our couple is battling. And no spells or interference can make things happen it all has to grow organically and naturally between our couple. The most interesting part of the book for me was Lucifer himself. Reading books out of order means you pick up on small things in earlier books that you might have missed if for not knowing what happens in later books. A couple of those things happened here, and you realize just how perfect Sasha and Ian are for each other, along with how important they are overall 😊

So. Any possibilities

Killian will turn into a sea monster on his thirty-second birthday, unless he can find a cure for his cure. His uncle finds the only way to break the curse. Killian has to marry a descendent of the witch that caused his family. They try reaching out to her, but she doesn’t respond. Some how they end up on a cruise together and don’t even know it. Can they meet and fall in love? Will they be able to break the curse? Dive in and find out.

Fantastic

What an absolute fantastic read, totally fell in love with biancha/sasha and killian/Ian, what an adventure these two go on to break the curse that will make Ian a kraken, which was caused by sasha family line, a fantastic array of characters that you'll fall in love with, plenty of ups and down and adventure to sink your teeth into, once you start reading you won't be able to put it down

Hilarious!

I absolutely LOVE this authors version of Hell and it’s cast of characters! Ian and Sasha are an interesting pair, perfect together in the end. I really disliked Sashas callous selfishness to begin the story, and Ians defeatist attitude was annoying, but as the story progressed, it seemed like both characters matured through their delightfully funny catastrophe.

Such a fun book!!!

This entire series has been great. This was a perfect addition to the series. It was a fun read, and also emotional and suspenseful at times too. There are lots of mentions of previous couples from the series, which was great. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!!

It's OK
Not the best romance I've read but fun and really easy to read. A bit too fast for my liking () and I felt some characters are not very defined - just vaguely in the background- but I liked it well enough anyways.

Review from audible box set Hell on the High Seas.
I haven’t read this book so went into it fresh.
I just couldn’t like Bianca/Sasha. Her attitude is mean and selfish and the more this went on the more I disliked her.
Wanted Kilian to be with someone nicer.
Though I mellowed towards her at the end, some serious grovelling from her for her rudeness would have been great.

Funny. Cute. Only complaint TO SHORT lol. Love Eve's humor. If Troy narrated all the hell series I would buy it in a heartbeat. Troy reads Eves books to me every night. When I get tired of one I go back to another. Grim dating then The lion ones. Find myself laughing even when I am about to fall asleep. Chapter 11 my go to so I can smile before sleep. Poise 😂

Splashingly spellbinding

Another amazing installment. Loved seeing snippets from the first book pulled in.
Lucifer is as hilarious as ever, and the reluctant pairs watery pull kept me gripped from the first page to the last !

Good follow-up in the series

The only complaint I have is that the story was really short, for the money she charges . But I Will probably be purchasing the next book just to see what happens.

I absolutely love Killian. Usually the men in this series are all alpha males and Ian was just so sweet, and good without coming off as a saccharine wimp. It was a happy surprise. At first I worried that I wasn't going to like Sasha because she comes off as selfish in the beginning, I mean the man will die, you can't even meet him? She grew on me as the book continued.

If you haven’t read any of the Welcome to Hell series start now

This is just as hilarious and semi dirty as all if the Welcome to Hell books. I loved Killian and if I was Sasha I would have married him at first glance. Looking for a quick funny read, this is it.

Love this series!

Lucifer is an absolute hoot! Evil, but a hoot!! Ian is going to turn into a Kraken on his birthday, unless he can get married and fall in love with a woman whose family cursed his. Enter Sasha, the reluctant woman. Lots of funny one-liners and love!

I don’t remember why I stopped but I started this in early 2021, got halfway through, and ended it. I think perhaps it was the monster romance thing that put me off. Apparently, I don’t mind that anymore. Just finished the last half it was pretty cute.

Kraken

She didn't want to get married, she certainly didn't want to marry a monster.
A long ago curse makes Ian into a kraken . On his 32nd birthday he will become a kraken for the rest of his life unless he can get a woman to fall in love with him and marry him. Mayhem insues.

A fun time as always. The devil played a minor role. The kraken was a fun beastie. A very fun series to read.
