Stardust is a collection of poetry and prose about a cosmic journey throughout a life. A life fighting against toxic masculinity, love, loss, emotional instability, and ultimately attempting to find the true meaning of life. The three chapters each dealing with the next step of life. The first which envelops the darkness in which the early universe is, reflecting our time on our first steps towards finding our individuality, our first love and loss. The second delivers the initial sparks, the brief glimpse of hoping which burns like an ember in all of us, all leading to the final supernova in which we become shining stars in our own universe.
Throughout this book you will become part of my voyage throughout the cosmos that is my mind, from the deepest, darkest depths of my despair, to the burning awe of the light I hope, together, we become. In a world and generation of seemingly stoic, unfeeling men; I always felt like the black sheep. An emotional man shunned by society. I begun my writings of poetry as an outlet, a private discourse of my inner feelings. This is my journey through the chains of society and my fight against toxic masculinity - a star guide through the darkness. From the lowest of the lows, to the highest of the highs. I wish you all the best and hope that somewhere hidden in these pages you’ll find a meaning of your own, for your own interpretation is worth more than anything in the world. All the cultures of the world once looked up into the stars, telling stories and passing on myths and legends. Each culture had its own words and names for all the constellations, and although they may have varied quite vastly, their beauty is far greater than all put together. This is something I hoped to mirror, not the stars of course, but words which people can find their own beauty in, even if others don’t see.
Prepare to be taken on an emotional and enlightening journey as you read this book. Stardust touches the topics some of us dare not open up about in such a beautiful and vulnerable way.
