i read this book ages ago and i was going through my wattpad when i found out it was getting published but only as an actual book and not an ebook and also that it was like majorly expensive, so i decided to stop reading my other book and reread this one for probably the last time :( and honestly it was really cute! i feel like it could’ve been a lot slower and they did get together kinda fast (also i was so upset when i found out id have to pay like £25 just to read the smut chapter and then the sequel afterwards 😭) 4 stars bc i still enjoyed it but just the fact that certain parts you have to pay for and that it’s not even getting published as an ebook or a reasonably priced physical book really let me down and honestly made me want to give it 3 stars.
Can not believe i downloaded wattpad to read this bc the internet said it was good (spoiler alert:it wasn't) I would NOT have fucking forgiven Ivan have i been in Desmond's place tbh the characters are so shallow and i just😭😭 no
I read this in Wattpad. The characters were cute but shallow, story was very generic but moved along at a good pace. Typos and unedited writing bothered me but overall it was a decent read.
Ok, I'm gonna be so real, I do not think I. J. Hidee is a good writer. I think most of their books are cliché and not written very well; I think their characters and dynamics work well for what they are, this doesn't mean I think they're good. All that being said, they are one of my favorite authors ever. I've read 5 of their books and can not in good faith say they were good books. They're honestly something of a guilty pleasure. I started reading Hidees work before they ever published anything, and all their work was free on wattpad, and I remember discovering them through this book. When I first found this book, I was a young queer boy who was still very new to the queer community. This book was one of the first unapologetically gay things I ever read, and I truly believe it was fundamental to both who I am as a queer trans man and a reader. I've reread this book at least 7 times(it gets worse every time), and I plan on rereading it again whenever I'm craving something simple and familiar. While I don't think they're a good writer by any means, I. J. Hidee was very fundamental to my development, and this book holds a special place in my heart for it.

2.5 stars I'm pretty sure this book hasn't been edited at all, and sadly it shows, sometimes whole sentences were broken up, entire scenes repeated, or things were repeated in a strange way. Also the characters were pretty shallow at best, and I felt like all of them acted too childish for the story this book tried to tell. It's a really fast read, just because it's very easy to get hrough it, and most of the time I thoought the pacing was decent, but also a lot of stuff happened really fast, and the emotional turmoil if there was any, either went on way too long for it to still be enjoyable, or it was over so quick that I really couldn't understand why it had to be there in the first place. I think most of the characters are decent people, not in any way realistic, but also not horrible human beings, so I could get over them being very shallow (and I didn't really expect anything else), and Desmond was actually quite alright as a main character, but also sadly really inconsistens and I think I could have loved him, if he was actually strong and managed to actually do stuff he said. He gave up way to quickly with absolutely everything, and if there woould have been a reason for that, it would have been fine, but I really didn't feel like there was. Also Ivan as a character is horrible. I feel like he could have been alright, but he's really just a bully, kind of, and in the end was just ... The friends also were a little too dense in my opinion, but then again so was Desmond, and I also thought it was really weird how Desmond insisted in his thoughts that he wasn't into boys, but then thought dreamily about every single boy he met and how good they looked and this never really went anywhere? And also sadly you never get to know any of the characters really past their immediate actions. There's so much stuff that could have made the relationship between Desmond and Ivan feel like a relationship, by them getting to know each other, but you really didn't get to meet anyone really, nobody really got close, and there were some ideas there, that I thought, but noothing really went anywhere. Like, I've read worse, but it also wasn't a good book. Sadly it ready easy enough and I thought the characters were alright enough, that I did continue reading into the second book, just to see if I'd get some closure about everything and it I'd get to know a little more about the backgrounds, but I don't think it'll happen. I'll probably read the rest of it, too, just because I think it'll take me at most 1.5 hours in total and I have that time (and also I'm already over halfway through in maybe 40 minutes, so whatever), but compared to the second one, this one feels great actually, and I really don't think it was, so make of that what you will.
Basically I was not aware that it was a wattpad turned into a book and this sums up everything.
First of all, the classroom okay so he’s new and it seems like everyone meaning boys are fan girling over him and he has nothing special that I remember about him like he’s not a rich kid or something. It just look like it was girls who were talking and I know stereotype but this really messed with me somehow like it gave me the ICK.
PS: this is nothing against MM books cause this was not the first one I’ve read
Also the summary looked interesting and I was like okay but yeah maybe I could have enjoyed that on wattpad in 2020 but yeah it wasn’t on wattpad and I didn’t know what I was getting myself into Soo kinda my fault anyways 😬🤦🏾♀️

What can I say ant this book. It's a Wattpad book, yes so you will know exactly what type of book it this. But surprisingly I enjoyed it. I've read the sequel and loved it as well.
My favorite would be always Desmond's character since he reminds me so much of myself. The book has its ups and downs and it made me think of the book would even have a happy ending. The author provided us with a ending that did satisfies but it felt short. Or maybe because I'm already starting to miss them. I wouldn't complain if the author makes another book but I'm also very much content with these two in the series.
I have been following the author for a while and reading the class prince before it was published as a book. When the published version was released I was excited as I was going to see more of the characters relationship. This book did not disappoint. Ivan and Desmond's are perfect and cute as their relationship was progressing. Loved it.
It's really good the characters and how desmond is he's my favorite of all the characters it was one of the best stories I ever read Your book was amazing more than amazing it was perfect the details everything good job hideee I actually got emotional when it came to the sad part the heart break tbh.
the characters are my biggest gripe about this book, their flat. nothing much going on here but a cute romance. i hate the ending and how its a cliffhanger and IMO none of the character interactions seem real. about par for the course for a wattpad writer but still
I PAID 16 DOLLARS FOR THIS BOOK

I remember reading this book on Wattpad the same for Y.O.L.O. This is how I found the author. I enjoyed reading their stories. I finished it on Wattpad but now I know it became a paid book on Wattpad now. I remember enjoying the book 📖 so I bought the Kindle version of the book so I could read it again. It’s really good and I love the characters.
The story was a bit cliche, but the editing is so horrible. There were so many mistakes, lines being repeated it killed the mood when reading the book. And I am surprised how Des immediately fell for Ivan even though he was not gay. Anyways it was a cliffhanger and I hope the second book atleast would be written properly.
Yes, yes, yes, yesssss, I loved this book so much, it was cute and the characters were great the only thing i would “complain” about was that i feel like it all happened a little to fast and there should’ve been a little more but other than that i would recommend this book.
I've already read this book at wattpad, but then author made it paid so I was searching for this book, can someone tell me how to read this book from goodreads app ? Because i don't know why but I can't open the book. Please help me
I liked the charters but they were a little flat. The story itself was simple and a bit predictable, but it was't bad. Overall it was an enjoyable quick read, but I really don't have any desire to read it again or to check out any more books in the series.
will forever be dear to my heart. i love you sm desmond and ivan, and i wish that all the scenes that made me love trevor and scott sm were still here and weren’t removed. love u my bbys my 13-14 y/o self missed u and now i’m ur age. isn’t that crazy. love u
I fvcking love this book welp cause that was my amateur self reading (2020). Kind of a bummer that we now have to pay for this in wattpad. I really wanna know what happened to Scott and Trevor (i cried on the fireworks scene lmao).
i'm sorry but who decided to make this book a paperback? it should have stayed a silly little wattpad book. definitely not worth the money. (the second book so far is even worse, not gonna continue it)
Quick read, finished it in a day. So many of the dialogues were terribly forced and corny and the writing was also kinda shitty. I was thinking of giving the other books a chance but after reading their ratings I’d rather not. I was actually more invested in Trevor and Scott than the main couple 😓
Cringiest shit I've ever seen since my 2016 wattpad adventure. It's the story of some teenagers being sassy for absolute no reason. MC is such a damsel in distress rescued by an edgy ML. Parents are evil as always "you don't understand me mom !" Oh stfu. Ends with a cliffhanger : big brother is back. Bitchy MC is loading...
What can I say! It is beautiful. The characters are beautiful. The setup is beautiful. The backgrounds are beautiful. Honestly, this and all of his books deserve the world.
Omg I must say this is the wonderful book . I read it on inkitt and this kinda books and stories should appreciate !! Keep going you hidee love your work 👍
