There is some straight up crazy going on here. As things heat up, new twists are introduced. I'm voluntarily reviewing this as part of an ARC for the My Billionaire Boss collection.

Nicole is expecting to see Chris when she opens her door but is stunned to see her ex on her doorstep. Her ex wants to make up and see if they can get back where they were before he screwed up. However Nicole is only thinking about friendship not anything more. She lets him crash on her couch just until he finds a place of his own. A few days later Chris shows up to make up for what happened when she was fired but when he sees her ex he isn't happy. Which leads to a fight between them. When a new friend invites Nicole to a function where she can network and hopefully find a job she ends up running into Chris. They talk and end up back together. But will Chris stick with her as they become more public in the newspapers? Can Nicole trust him when he didn't fight harder for her job for her?

This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

The self defense classes come in handy for Nicole and Chris is the one being targeted now

Forbidden Promises is the second book in the My Billionaire Boss series and picks up where the first book, Forbidden Attraction, ends. Nicole and Chris are still apart but Nicole has one more complication in her life. Her ex-boyfriend has turned up after coming back from Mexico to grovel and prove to her that he can be forgiven for dumping her and trusted that he will not do anything to hurt her again. Because Nicole feels sorry for him she lets him stay on her couch until he finds a job and his own place to live. Over the next couple of weeks Nicole looks for work everywhere but it seems that no one is hiring for a comparable executive position to the one she had. So she starts applying for more junior positions but still no lucky. At the same time her ex is applying with no luck also.
Chris has been having a hard time being separated from Nicole. He realizes that there is an emptiness in his life that can only be filled by her. So one night he goes to her place to apologize and fight to get her back. Let's just say that he is not really happy to see another man walking around in her apartment but she quickly talks him down and he understands. But she also shuts the door on him again, at least for the moment.
A week later they end up at the same corporate event, as she was invited by a new friend she met while taking self defense classes. Chris and Nicole talk and are honest with each other which leads to a wonderful night of make-up sex and more.
But again not everything is going to be smooth and this time Chris is hit with news from his lawyer that his PA has accused him of misusing his power by forcing her into sexual activities and that he abused her thus leaving another cliffhanger to be dealt with in the next book of the series. Let's see if Nicole will stand by Chris while he fights his delusional PA.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second part of the My Billionaire Boss series. In this book, Nicole and Chris are in a relationship and things have been going well between them. They are getting ready to go public with their relationship and tell the board at work when they are called in. They board heard about them and this caused Nicole to lose her job, and Chris didn't face anything for being with Nicole against the rules of the company. Nicole is angry and tells Chris she needs time and when she returns home, she finds her ex-boyfriend there asking for another chance. Chris knows he made a mistake and he wants Nicole back, but he also doesn't want to force her and end up pushing her away for good. I liked this second part of this story. I like that Chris wanted to be with Nicole, but still respected her request for space. I think Nicole loves Chris, i think she was just angry she was the only one fired. I hope they get back together and i look forward to the next book.

Incredible

This is an incredible short story that you still want to keep reading because intrigue, romance, real life situations and drama. So good. We start where Nicole opens the door to her ex-boyfriend on the same day she loses her job. Yeah talk about when it rains, it pours. So Nicole has a dilemma because she really enjoyed her relationship with former boss, Chris Chase. We get both perspectives as they both continue the story. Then a little shock at the end with a follow up of our villainess. So intriguing.

Confused

The book starts as though we the reader have seen what took place three chapters earlier. She was fired but the CEO wasn’t punished for his part that made no sense. Her ex that abandoned her shows up and she just forgives after he left her hurting with no regrets. She takes self defense classes after being attacked some time ago. I wasn’t thrilled with this story outside of confusion there were grammar issues.

Part 2 of forbidden series

I love this story. Nicole and Chris have had a bit of a Rocky start, but Nicole doesn't expect to lose her job, and Chris, not to mention the reappearance of Jason her ex-boyfriend. The story is fast paced, hot, intense and ends in a cliff hanger that begs for more.

This is the second book of Nicole and Chris' story and it had me frustrated most of the time. It makes for a good drama with them separation but I did enjoy them trying to get through it after both feeling hurt. I can't wait to read the final book.

This follows straight on from Forbidden Attraction, instead of Chris when Nicole opens the door it's Jason, her ex. She decides to let him try and make it up to her by allowing him to stay. She still has feelings for Chris though.
