Separate Journeys: A Profile of Life, Death and Life Again

Rate this book
Separate Journeys is a real life testimonial from one man's perspective of facing some of the stiffest challenges that life can bring. Richard Ketteman describes his first hand experience with life changing events starting with the loss of his mother at an early age. He continues with the difficult journeys of his special needs daughter and his wife's long term illness along with insight into the impact on family life of raising a child with multiple serious physical abnormalities. He also describes his role of caregiver for his wife as she coped with a terminal illness. Following the death of his daughter and wife within the span of 17 months, he was left to face the ensuing grief, sorrow and loneliness. He not only relives his difficult journey down that treacherous road, but also how he overcame grief and has created a new life. Separate Journeys is an inspiring, heartwarming and authoritative story, written by someone who has "walked the walk" and proves that adversity can be overcome. This book can surely be of value to those who have recently lost a spouse or close family member and are grappling with the darkness of grief.

A book everyone who has lost a spouse or child should read. Even though my husband has been gone 6 years, I found it quite meaningful as I still continue my journey thru grief. Richard lost both a daughter and his wife in a short time and has bravely moved forward.
