It has all come down to this.

Stuck in an alternate universe while Charlie wreaks havoc in their own, Arista and Frees are desperate to return home to stop him. Their only problem: they don’t have a Quantum Gate.

But their new allies are clever, and if they play their cards just right, they might find a way back after all. What they find after being away for months is anyone’s guess.

It turns out things are worse than they ever could have imagined. Charlie has begun an all-out war against the remaining humans and the Peacekeepers, determined to wipe them from the face of the Earth.

And the only ones left to stop him are Arista and her friends. In order to do so they’ll have to seek out the last original Artificial Intelligence, and there’s no telling if he’s even still alive or if he’s willing to help.

CAUSALITY is the final chapter in the pulse-pounding QUANTUM GATE saga. Filled with unforgettable characters and a world in peril, this last installment will leave you guessing until the very end!

“What if we made it so humans were no longer illegal and machines were no longer a threat?”
A Masterpiece!
I loved the style, the content, the storyline and the intrigue. There were philosophical moments in there that were quite thought provoking and made the story incredibly interesting. Once I started reading, I was drawn into the characters and the story so realistic it is,
feeling the despair and panic, the futility, the sense of hopelessness, loss, it seemed like two universes had come together to conspire against Arista, the female protagonist. This has been a fantastic read with brilliant characters, with its own sense and texture. The research behind the story is refreshingly realistic. The author has clearly given a lot of thought to how the technology might work, and the consequences of it. Arriving at the end of the series is always sad, but fulfilling and heartwarming, especially if it’s such an outstanding and fantastic series as this one! The result is one of the best stories in this genre that I've yet come across.
I received an early version of this book from the publisher and my review is entirely voluntary.

So I enjoyed the way the story ended for the most part. Not everything was wrapped up in a nice neat bow, --For example,

They were suppose to be returning back into their own universe and not trapped in an alternate world while the not-so-dead diabolical AI Charlie has been unleashed to freely wreck their world with his own brand of destruction. Numbed by the turn of events, the loss of the Device that kept her alive in a world of sentient machines and the poignant loss of the only parents she's truly known, Arista is struggling to come to grips with her, unknown future. By sheer ingenuity and determination, a new Gate is built enabling Arista and Frees to get home and take the fight to Charlie and finally put an and to it all. Accompanied by Blu and David, they head back into a familiar world that's erupted into chaos by Charlie as he is commanding an army of machines that will rid the world of what humanity remains and Charlie wielding absolute control. From Japan to London, Arista and friends plead to anyone in influence to join them in going all against the murderous AI; finally introduced to Trymian, the AI ruling over London and finding a unique and much needed alliance leading into the final battle with Charlie and one final gamble that could bring a world with humanity and sentient machines finding a balance of peace.

Causality may be the final book of the Quantum Gate series but Eric Warren jam packed this high octane worldwind of an adventure with countless shocking revelations, poignant moments and intense action that makes this story all the more harrowing... and deeply memorable and a damn fine way to bring the exceptional journey to a close.

Definitely highly recommended.
