And once again, the BEST was yet to come in Brian Clopper’s quirky and FUN series, Irving Wishbutton! Book four, IRVING WISHBUTTON AND THE DOMAIN OF SAGAS brings this children’s fantasy series to a close with some VERY interesting and sometimes quirky twists, turns and convolutions that all start with Dean Harmstrike and his evil ways.
Irving, of course, isn’t real, he is the main character in his author’s book, but until the book is finished, he resides on a special plane for storybook characters. Since book one, Irving has grown, been more defined and has had adventures that are “out of this world!” This time, the wicked dean has sent Irving to the Domain of Sagas where he must live the lives of other characters without losing himself. With a cast of quirky, familiar and even new characters, this is Irving’s greatest quest yet as he must think outside of the box to save himself and his friends from certain doom.
Brian Clopper has pulled out all of the stops, even using a wily author trick, which only the greats dare to try! Actually, I have NEVER read of an author who put themselves out there like this and it is brilliant!
If you are looking for a children’s read that is non-stop imagination, allows the characters to grow and even lead their creator over some tricky hurdles, Brian Clopper’s Irving Wishbutton series should be at the top of the list. Age appropriate for youthful readers, filled with eclectic characters that are colorful and plots that will keep those pages turning, and who am I kidding, I am Irving’s number one fan!
