Elise Thibodeaux didn't do second chances. She had been burned and thrown away too many times to let someone else come in and do it again. But after 5 years, and a sweet little girl .... A second chance is exactly what she needs. Jace Bourgeois is back after 5 years. There's just one tiny problem...He doesn't have his memories, and doesn't recognize the woman he left behind for the Navy Seals. He wants nothing to do with the tiny town he grew up in, but in order to get back to his team, He's going to have to remember every painful thing.****** Due to some abusive and violent scenes, this book has a trigger warning for anyone that may have gone through abusive relationships. This book is a happy ending novel, and the abuse is short lived. If you or someone you know is being abused, please seek professional help or the police. ****

Lonergan does it again! What a fantastic story!

The storyline is absolutely brilliant-a soldier returns home to remember his past. The love of his life is there trying to move on from him. The two lives that are forged together by live. Such a fantastic and relevant story.

You can tell that there was a lot of research and work done for this. The descriptions are perfectly detailed and full. It is based in Louisiana and it’s brought to life by an author who understands the place as well as the people.

This is a contemporary story as well as a stand-alone. It’s great to see that this incredible author can do such different genres and do them so well! I would definitely recommend this book and I look forward to reading it again!!

I’m so honored that I was able to read this before it comes out, so thank you Alyssa!! You truly did a fabulous job!!

I’m from Louisiana and we have a lot of special things here; our food, culture, mannerisms, etc. So, naturally as I was reading and seeing that this read was set in Louisiana, it made me happy and excited inside!

This read follows Elise, her daughter Everly and the experience of coming home after a long time of being gone. It’s deep, it’s scary, it’s beautiful and I loved it!! It read easily and fast, I really didn’t want to put it down!

Amazing

This book was even more than I expected. I loved it from the very first page to the last. I didn't even want to put it down to go to work. To the extent of bringing it to work with me and reading on my lunch break. I would also read before bed and for 10 mins when my alarm went off at 4:30 am each morning (which I never do). I managed to finish it in two days around work. Highly recommend. It grabs your attention and doesn't let go!!

I wanted something quick to read and chose this book. It was really good, fast paced, and kept me turning the page.
I really enjoyed the characters and was engrossed from the start. The relationship between Jace and Elise was so real and I loved it.
If you're looking for a good read...definitely check this out.

Seriously one of the best romance books I’ve ever read. It’s intriguing and suspenseful. But yet so passionate and emotional that it feels like you are apart of the book. The characters and the drama and how it all ties together to create this beautiful romance is amazing. Beyond recommend. I absolutely loved it.

Amazing!!

I absolutely love this book! I felt like I was part of their world in our "little towns" we have here in Louisiana. A. Lonergan, as always you rock at leaving us on the edge of our seats and wanting MORE! I can't wait to see what you do next!!
