Therese doesn't like being stuck on the sidelines, especially when the entire pantheon is in trouble.
Hypnos and Jen aren't married long when they realize something's they both want to have a child, especially when they see how happy Therese and Than are with their twins. But the creation of new gods is against the rules, and they aren't willing to give up their immortality.
Hypnos goes to Mount Olympus to offer Zeus a deal. He'll make it his mission to find out the source of the recent attacks on Gaia--horrible earthquakes that have already released two monsters from the Titan Pit--if Zeus will agree to let him and Jen have one immortal child.
Because the attacks are getting humans killed and none of the other gods have been able to discover a lead, Zeus, in his desperation, agrees. But this new quest just might get Hypnos swallowed and trapped for all eternity, and there seems to be nothing Therese and Than can do to stop it.

Welp guess who finished this in one day. A good guy Zeus wow I never thought I see the day but you still a little jerk *looks around nervously* anyways moving on this book was amazing like literally so many myths mashed into one and they ran so smoothly bit all of them sprung forth the Morpheus myth and nailed it so hard it hurt. good job giving Therese some hope. like my brother warned me aether you shady mofo I'd say more but that's a spoiler. now Scylla hmm I like it but her mom non non non and then you demand respect from the gods tsk tsk tsk. now that ending I just gotta say welp it's about to hit the fan harder than a freight train and faster than a bullet train.
Oh my goodness I loved every minute of the book. I can't wait for more. I am so glad I got to hear more about Hypnos and Jen even though I'm a little jealous but more for personal reasons. ;) Hypnos is such amazing character. I love the surprise twist with the mystrey god. Heck I liked him at first lol. I can't believe Hypnos almost had to go through that!!! Made me bite my nails. I really enjoyed the story and the child. I still think Jen and Hyp should have at least one child of their own. I'm trying not to give away to much. As always Eva has woven a magical tale with her hands. I love this story and would definitely pass on a reccomendation to others to read it. I love your writing it adds a unique level to my obsessive fan girl thing. I can't wait to read more stories. Suffering with drawels here. Seriously I need more stories Eva! :)
I died a bit on the inside after the ending. But I enjoyed this book completely knowing that Zeus was acting like a good guy and accepted Hypnos deal in exchange for what he had to do. It was satisfying seeing Jen trying to help Scylla and her becoming good at the end but the most satisfying thing was knowing that Than and Therese have a chance to be gods again but Aether I never did trust him at all, that's one shady god. Though everything turned out well at the end, hip and Jen has a kid but I did not see that coming when Zeus gave him the name, I was like wut?! But Poor Carol and Richard to learn such shocking news even though they accepted them after a bit. Now Gimme the other one or gimme death!

Couldn't put it down (except when I had work). I loved the writing and the story. I enjoyed the interesting twist on a certain characters origins and loved the twist at the end even though I see it all turning out well in the end. I especially loved how the Underworld family came together in the end. Now my only problem is...I gotta wait till April 2017 for the next book. I'm already having Gatekeeper Spin-off withdrawal symptoms. I think my only other problem was how short it was because it was just a really great read from both Jen's development and Hip's strength. About to reread GK Saga just because of how great this book was.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. WARNING -SPOILERS!
Well, where do I start? I've always been a big fan of Greek Mythology but Eva Pohler takes it to a whole new level. I've lost count on how many times I've read the Underworld Saga books but I've got to admit I think Hypnos may be the best one so far. I love Jen (she's my favourite character) and I love the fact that in this book you get to know her more. I'm also so happy that Scyla becomes a Goddess rather than a Monster, reading about the abuse she went through was really sad but I'm glad that she gets her happy ever after (hopefully). Also I think the best part of all when Scyla, Jess & Hera rescued the kids from being abused and then when no one wanted little Muggie (now Morpheus) was really sad but I'm so glad that he has a new home with Jen and Hypnos. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves Greek Mythology.

What a great addition to the Gatekeeper's Saga. Since this is a spin-off it's a little different but is still just as captivating as the others. I enjoyed seeing Jen and Hip on a more personal level and still being able to see Than and Therese and of course the twins. I liked the mystery and trying to figure out what exactly is going on. It keeps your attention and you find yourself fully immersed in the world of the Gods. The new character will steal your heart because he's precious. Good job, loved it!
This is the first of the spin-off books in A Gatekeeper's Saga and I'm liking Eva Pohler's telling of Greek Mythology more and more. She has the Underworld as not am evil place that ever other telling has it. She gives you the sense that everyone has a great purpose which is true. This story takes you more into the lives of Hypnos and his wife Jen (Theresa friend). There are a lot of twist and turns in this story as with the others in the saga. If you are a huge fan of Mythology like a lot of are; than by all means pick up your copy of the complete first 6 books in the saga and then get started on the spin-offs as well. I truly enjoy her spin on things and can't wait to find out what happens next. All the Gods and Goddesses of Mt Olympics and The Underworld are in this story.
This was one of the best in this series! I was sad when it ended, even though it had the best of endings. We meet a very young child who was rescued by Jan. He is very poor, has no home and is abused. They are so smitten with him. I was so surprised at his talented gift he has! I love surprises like that. So much happens in this book. Just when you think things couldn’t change, they do. I even love Zeus now. It’s hard to review without giving things away but I just can’t tell you how good this is. Everyone needs to read or listen to it. All the characters are getting softer and closer. Even Hades. I almost cried it was so good. If you like audiobooks, you will love this one. The narrator is the best! And all the characters really come to life. Can’t wait for the next one.
I love the books have shifted to Jen and Hypnos. Im excited but yet sad I am almost done with this series. I cannot wait to see what is to come of Than and his family but I hate it is going to be over.
I love Hip, he is as awesome as Than but Jen? I spent the whole book mad at her and only towards the end she started being annoying, lol. I love M's story but I am still waiting for T and T's story being fixed
This book was such a fun and intense listen. I was so happy to read more of Hypnos and Jen. I missed them and their friends. It was interesting to see how everyone was. I really enjoyed the mysterious god we get to meet in this book. It literally had me guessing who can and cannot be trusted.
So... the only problem I have with this book is now I have to wait for the next one! I was mildly annoyed with Jen being the "star of this book. She was never really my favorite... she was OK... but I guess since she was not really... fleshed out (if you will) in the original Gatekeepers series I was not that invested in her. All and all I was quite please with this book. OK since this is not a spoiler... since Therese's parents were put in to cardinal's several books ago... they are both in RED Cardinals... THUS Therese's mother is in a BOY bird body! OMG this drives me ever so MAD! LOL the choice of Cardinals was a great one as they mate for life... and while Therese's parents are now immortals... its not necessary... but OH MY STARS this tiny error bugs me... OK enough of that... I was happy with the adventure and plot twists in this continuation if the saga!
** spoiler alert ** I died a bit on the inside after the ending. Hypnos picks up where the 'Gatekeeper's Saga' ended. It's complete with all the same characters and a few new ones. This story, like Gatekeeper's is a battle of good vs evil. There's a traitor among the gods of Mount Olympus. This time it's up to Jen, who's struggling with her new goddess powers, to embrace her fears and help save her loved ones. Again, Eva left me hanging on every word. I absolutely love her tales of Greek mythology and how she brings the gods to life. I can't wait for the next addition!
Following the original series about the Gatekeeper this story feels just as action packed as the first six. Looking forward to the next part of this entertaining saga.
Really enjoyed this and can't wait for more from all characters. Great read great characters and brilliant story leaving you wanting to know what's going to happen next
As with all the Gatekeeper's series, I learn more and more about mythology. I was nervous to start this new series but it's shaping up well! I devoured most of it in one day and can't wait to read the second in the series that I got an ARC of!
Eva Pohler has destroyed my heart once again, thankfully she also fixed it in the same book, for awhile. Hypnos was an amazing continuation of The Gatekeeper's Saga!
And Hestie, Hermie, and Muggie are adorable! I can't wait to read Hunting Prometheus!
