Love is about to leave one charming cowboy thrown for a loop. . .

Due to a birth defect that left her mostly deaf, Anna Zimmerman has spent her entire life lingering in the shadows. When a cowboy too handsome for his own good unexpectedly bumps into her, the encounter forces her to realize she needs a change. Determined to begin living the life she’s always dreamed about, she grabs onto her courage and faces Jake head on.

Known as a good-time cowboy, Jake Chandler has left a string of broken hearts in his wake. Convinced there isn’t a woman alive he can’t tease or please into doing his will, he hits a wall when it comes to the shy librarian who works across the street. She’s nothing like the women he typically dates, but she might just be the girl who can finally capture his heart.

Uplifting, amusing, and heartwarming, Heart of Love captures the spectacular magic of first love, instant attraction, and sweet, sweet romance.

A hopeless romantic with a bit of sarcasm thrown in for good measure, Shanna Hatfield is a best-selling author of clean romantic fiction written with a healthy dose of humor.

In addition to blogging and eating too much chocolate, she is completely smitten with her husband, lovingly known as Captain Cavedweller.

Shanna creates character-driven romances with realistic heroes and heroines. Her historical westerns have been described as “reminiscent of the era captured by Bonanza and The Virginian” while her contemporary works have been called “laugh-out-loud funny, and a little heart-pumping sexy without being explicit in any way.”

She is a member of Western Writers of America, Women Writing the West, and Romance Writers of America.

One more time I read a Wonderful heartstring pulling book by the great author Shanna Hatfield. Jake the sweet little ice cream eating sidekick of Clay has grown up and has his own Happy Ever-after. Jake is not looking to settle down he enjoys his carefree lifestyle. Anna quite as mouse knocks Jake for a loop with her sweet innocence definitely Not His Type but oh so perfect for him as he soon finds out. Mrs Hatfield plays this story out just beautifully. I laughed, I cried and by the end of book I had a heart full of a great book. Mrs Hatfield definitely has the key to the Heart of Romance stories.

From the first time they met, I enjoyed the story of these two characters who were exact opposites.

She was a quiet, timid librarian and he was a real ladies man - with rules on how to have fun. He is positive that she's just not his type and she has no idea what her type even is. She's a loner, shy, timid, and yet the complete opposite on her family's farm.

While the story at times seemed predictable, it was very enjoyable to watch as they ended up together. I also enjoyed reading about their family and friend's reaction to their relationship. He's NEVER ever brought a girl home to meet his family so it was hilarious for him to be the very last one to figure out he loves her. Her reaction to his attention surprised me, a total makeover and a new muscle car.

Overall, an enjoyable read for a rainy night!

Quote: “Hmm?” he rumbled in response, his breath warm by her ear. “I’m so glad I’m not your type of girl.” Jake chuckled and pulled her closer, “Me, too, Sugar. Me, too.”

Not His Type (The Women of Tenacity) (Kindle Edition)

Cliqued Make-over story

While the characters were likable, they were so cliched as to be boring. Anyone who's read more than a few romances has read this story in a dozen different versions. Dowdy, shy librarian falls in love with a handsome playboy and does a makeover to win him. Everyone is amazed to find she really has a good figure after all. And they don't even recognize her? Hello? Did her face change too?
Sorry, but there was no conflict, no plot other than will they fall in love? which is answered almost immediately.
I received a complimentary copy for review. Sorry, it wasn't worth my time.

Highly Recommend

Shanna Hatfield, you completely outdid yourself with this one. Loved it from the beginning to the end. Jake and Anna are my favorites out of the whole series and I loved reading how they grew into becoming the wonderful loving adults they were meant to be. All the returning characters helped to make this a very loving, funny and romantic book I will be reading again. I loved the poems, so heart catching, they made me teary eyed. The whole series were an enjoyable read and I recommend it to all you romantics out there. JudyE

Simply cute. It was a nice break from the dystopian and fantasy genres I'm usually reading.

Funny how the last of the best friends or cousins is Jake who is the super slick play boy of the area. He is a complete party boy who only goes out with women who are pretty ditzy. Even though he is one of the most kind hearted men when it comes to helping others.

Then you have Anna, who is that totally unconfident woman who is shy and has a disability. She is totally not someone Jake would even look at and yet he keeps bumping into her. Anna is one of those women who feels that she is not worthy of being with someone like Jake.

This story shows that love can conquer many things and it will happen even when a person is not looking for it. There are parts that are very funny and parts that have you biting your nails hoping it will turn out okay. An excellent read that shows that people can change, grow and be their better self.

Steamy

I gotta say, Heart of Love is the steamiest Christian fiction I have read. I repeatedly had to clear the fog from my glasses as mousey librarian Anna turns into a long legged spice girl, and handsome Jake becomes a quivering tower of jello at the thought of Anna. Their passion continues to heat up to the day they are married, and as they landed on the bed, I was relieved that the next word was "Later." Best to read this book with a fan running full blast, but it does serve as a fitting end to the casual lifestyle of random sexual encounters that Jake is locally famous for. Overall I have loved this series, and being a farm girl I appreciated the farm setting.

In the third book of this trilogy, we get to see Jake, Clay's cousin met in book 1, grow up and finally fall in love. The woman he falls for, Anna, is nothing like his typical dates, but something about her speaks to Jake's heart.

I enjoyed seeing Jake's love story and see him overcome some misunderstandings with Anna caused by not only by personalities but also physical disabilities and health issues that they must over come. Shanna's characters come to life and you will find yourself cheering for them as you turn the pages to see what happens next!

Not your ordinary type

This clean romance set in the 70's was entertaining just to remember how things were back then. I really liked how the guy did finally see what was more than skin deep in the quiet librarian.

Perfect Ending to Trilogy

Absolutely wonderful ending to Trilogy! Caught myself missing the characters as if they were real. Great story had my emotions going from laughing to crying at the blink of an eye. Anna and Jake's story made me happy.

I was so excited for Jake’s story… so curious about the type of girl that would capture his heart. It was even better than I imagined! Such a cool transformation from playboy to lover boy! ❤️❤️

Loved the Shy But Spunky Librarian

I loved Anna the librarian. She was she, but surprisingly spunky. I loved watching her come out of her shell. Jake Chandler was supposed to be a bit of a playboy and a jerk before he met Anna. I was glad that he still treated her with respect before he got to know her, and before she had a makeover.

I loved the characters, but this book was crossing some lines for me. I can usually trust Shanna Hatfield for clean romances, but this one and a few at the end of the Grass Valley Cowboys series were a bit too passionate for me (kisses dropping too low, and a honeymoon scene that eventually faded to black). It was still handled in a non-crude way, but I was disappointed.

It was a pleasure to meet the sweet girl that was able to finally and irrevocably claim Jake Chandler’s heart. Loved watching Anna come out of her shell and decide to go after what she wants. Watching smooth Jake Chandler be caught off guard by this quiet beauty was so much fun and the chemistry between Jake and Anna will have you sighing happily. Wonderful conclusion to the Women of Tenacity series!

... 'note to self', It helps to read Shanna Hatfield's books in order -she writes in a manner that invites you into the neighborhood and to keep straight the who's who, it helps to get to know the characters as they are introduced. Reading her books is like sitting down with your girlfriend, the story is good, you can count on romance, a few relationships under construction, plus there are nuggets of wisdom which I believe Shanna is giving to us in love.

Wow chemistry. This is the 3rd in a series. And this is the best for the single part of the courtship. The first one is the best for established marriage. The 2nd is the best for early marriage. Good story and characters.

Excellent story. The author has a real gift for dialogue and character development. Fairly traditional in it's story, it was fascinating to watch each step unfold. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will look for others in this series.
