I'm D. Camille and I am an avid reader and author. I started reading romance books when I was thirteen and since then I've read hundreds. I wanted to write a series that contained the culture and history of the African and African American people.

I like to utilize historical information, science and ancient beliefs. I write for people to enjoy, think, analyze and learn; not only about the characters but hopefully also about themselves. I love to hear from my readers. Write me and tell me about your favorite characters and what you love about them. Me, I love all of them...they came from my heart.

Ase! (so let it be)

King of Kings

Malik and Tariq exceeded my expectations of simply being a Black King... Khia and Kita are most deserving of these two Black Kings.... I love the Bantu Academy. If only we could use this system instead of institutional education for our children. I hope to read about Asha and Mr. Clarke as a next installment.

A Lesson in Desire
It has been a year since prolific writer, D Camille first introduced her readers to this series, an annual Black History Month publication. The storylines center around the students, teachers, parents and community of the Los Angeles area Bantu Academy where the school is located. The first one was LESSONS IN LOVE which also included two stories as LESSONS IN PASSION. The engaging stories not only present lessons in love and passion, but also lessons about our history.

I love the way the author incorporates aspects of the Khematic principles into these stories. It serves as a learning experience for the reader who is not familiar with this culture. Not only does D Camille engage her readers in a beautiful love story, but she also educates the reader about a great ancient civilization that that was distinctly black and African.

I enjoyed this story, and I believe you will also. D Camille always delivers stories that entertain and enlighten. I recommend A Lesson in Desire.

A Lesson In Devotion
The second story featured in LESSONS IN PASSION highlights the second couple of the close-knit group of friends, Malik Thompson and Khai Sawyer. In this story, talented author D Camille masterfully incorporates one of my favorite tropes in Romancelandia, the royalty trope. Malik has been pursuing Khai for more than a year, but the young goddess is reluctant to give her heart to the young god. “What’s the problem?” You’ll find out when you read the story.

A few new side characters are introduced in this story, and Malik’s parents are among them. They both have brief, but key roles. The woman-to-woman talk between Malik’s mother and Khai is everything. Now that the members of the group, Kita, Tariq, Malik, and Khai have paired off, that leaves Asha, Khai’s sister the odd woman out, or does it. I say, “Stay tuned”. Someone has his eye on Asha.

I recommend the stories of LESSONS IN PASSION. A Lesson in Desire (Story One) and A Lesson in Devotion (Story Two) reflect love and passion, and our culture. Kudos to author D Camille for delighting us with engaging entertaining reads that also offer a platform to enlighten us.

Desire and Devotion

Thoroughly enjoyed reading Tariq and Kita's journey which was a lesson in learning to cleary see the person in front of you and discover true love. It took Kita a while to see. Tariq but the journey was worth it.

Malik and Khai's was a more challenging road as Khai needed to put aside her fears and trust Malik's feelings were true. Malik carrying secrets of his own, knew Khai was the one for him. He brought out the big guns to win her devotion.

Overall enjoyed the story

Loved it.

Two gentlemen went through great lengths to have the women of their dreams. Catfishing and concealing their true identity? I would say these acts count. But they DID get their woman so it was all worth it. I have become very fond of the annuals from D. Camille. They're always filled with something that makes you pause and reflect. As always, I will be looking forward to the next.

Black love

As always appreciated both stories about black love. Not sure if Tariq and Kita’s story was more enjoyable than Malik and Khari’s, Malik certainly worked hard and showed great patience. Both characters were strong and gave their all. As the theme says lessons learned, let’s focus on that. Until the next.. Omari and Asha.

Good read

Good read, the storyline was very similar in both relationships. Tariq and Kita, along with Malik and khai. Both of the men were lying by omission, and the girls seemed to fear relationships due to their past. The characters were predictable.

Wonderful black love 💖💖💖

It's always a pleasure to read one of D.Cammille books. I thoroughly enjoy the Bantu Academy series. Tariq and Kita's story was wonderful. I love how Tariq stepped in to protect Kita from the no-good males in her family.
Malik and Kahi's was definitely a story of devotion and patience. Malik was so in love with Kahi that he pursued her for a year trying to convince her that he loved her. I'm glad that she finally realized that his love was real. As always the book was well written and the characters were so enjoyable.
