During the parliamentary session of 1840, Miss Eva Grey is disregarded as the Earl's unfortunate relation. Until that is, a budding romance with a man too far above her in station turns into more than a common flirtation. Is that why those grasping for political control, wealth, and land ownership have targeted her? She must discover the elaborate lark that has made her a target, if she ever wants to be with the man she loves.
I absolutely loved this book! The book had a cinderella meets 1800s London vibe to it. The characters were interesting and I enjoyed their respective arcs. Eva was a joy to read and I relished all of her clever quips.
This story started out having a very "Pride and Prejudice" feel to it, but quickly evolved its own personality. I really enjoyed it, and will definitely be looking for the other books in the series.
