What do people really know about werewolves? One dark and unfortunate night, Everly realizes she’s been wrong this whole time. A werewolf is not a handsome boy who shape-shifts under the full moon like the movies want us to believe. Instead, a werewolf is a blood-thirsty monster. With dead animals being left at her house and a rising body count, Everly and her younger brother, Simon, are on a mission to discover who is the monster causing chaos in their small town. Turns out, they might be in over their heads. The werewolf may not be acting alone but among a pack. But what they soon discover is something is even more horrifying. And now, nothing is as it seems…
Alex Gedgaudas is a Wisconsin native and is mostly known for her ability to consume an unnatural amount of coffee. In her free time, Alex can often be found wandering around rural Wisconsin writing fantasy or horror stories with the sole companionship of her loyal English Bulldog ‘Big Mike’. He only occasionally has negative commentary about her work.
I didn't care for this story for several reasons, but here are the main ones. The story was overly wordy, it could have been shortened and made just as, if not more interesting. I saw the plot twist coming as soon as I read the party scene. I knew the alpha straight away. The "ending" felt unfinished. I could go with more, but you should form your own opinion.
Awesome book, if you like mystery, romance, werewolf and fantasy this is your book. The characters are great, the story is very interesting. I couldn’t put it away. She is a worker of a resort, she is fun and talkative but her co workers aren’t so friendly so she decided something needed to change, not all changes are the best choice.
This was good! I wish it was longer with more character detail, especially to learn more about how certain relationships built. 3.5, became 4 w/ the twists at the end.
Okay this book was better than I thought. I loved the mystery within it, honestly I didn’t try to guess who it was and I was pleasantly shocked by it which was nice! My only complaint is I totally feel left hanging I feel like it just ends I need more information what happens to her? Who does she end up with for sure not guessing? Where is Erik? How are her siblings? How much time went by from the end of the book to the epilogue? If there is ever a second book I would pick it up just to see if any of these questions are answered.
I have always liked Gedgaudas' knack for building plots. The twists always have at least one shock and it's great because you can see how well it all added up. But, this one felt short and the epilogue left me wanting. I don't know if that's because she is expecting to make a sequel or what, but I felt like there could have been more flesh in this book. At the very least in the epilogue. Otherwise, this is a great short read! Especially for the fall.
I am left shocked by the ending, it wasn’t a cliff hanger but I did not guess the conclusion; which I love when it’s not too predictable. Now I feel like I need the re read it, the perspective we read from makes us have such a different view on every character that after finishing the book I realise was so wrong. Would’ve loved a bit more on the relationship, but maybe in another book? Amazing book, really hoping for it to be a series.
At first glance I thought oh no, a youth book about were love.but being bored I spent a little more time reading it.The story is a fast read, and it has twists, and turns that kept my attention.A great book, that I would recommend to anyone else who enjoys a werewolf story.
I give this a strong 3 star, story aint to bad and keeps your attention all through and might give you a surprise in the last parts, there are scenes and aspects that could have been given more attention and things are going fast without to much expectations, other than that worth killing time over if your into werewolf’s and the supernatural genre
This story really surprised me. I've heard about the mind replacing memories to protect itself, but this is a result in this story that I didn't see coming. I liked the characters and was totally unable to guess the ending, which I really liked. A very good read, I couldn't put it down.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It kept my attention and had be wanting to read more and more pages at a time. The ending was really great and I really did not expect it. Super good book.
I actually really liked this book, tbh I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to get through it, as there's not much romance and no spice, but I did and in record time for me to! it was pretty predictable and I kind of wanted more from the ending, but overall a good read :)
HOLY SHIT! I did not except that, but I loved that! I will read anything by Alex Gedgaudas! Hopefully with that cliffhanger at the end, we will see a a second book!
Well holy crap!! I didn't see that coming...nice lil twist right there; I see what you did!!
This is a great combo of mystery sprinkled with a light touch of romance and incorporates the paranormal feel while centering around werewolves. Very different approach and totally loved it.
• I love Alex Gedgaudas, and I will likely read everything she publishes.
• It’s her characters. period. top tier i love them all. - they all typically have a sense of humor - they’re all engaging - you finish the book feeling like you know them personally which is always good.
• This book really just hits the spot if your looking for a quick and easy paranormal read.
• I love the fact that she based the plot loosely in her own experiences. It makes reading or looking back on it so much fun
• I personally loved the twists; some, you could see a little ahead of time but i had no clue some of them were coming and was equally pleasantly yet disturbingly surprised
• all around an entertaining read. will probably read it again because i just enjoyed it.
