Luke catches a pickpocket then two more in Jackson Square while visiting the tea leaf reader / former student (Diana?). This leads to a gang of child thieves led by an evil man.
This and two missing person cases lead to lots of action and some hardship.
Hooray for Misty, Luke and the rest of her coven. I really enjoyed this book. I won’t give anything away but this is a really good book to read. It is not put downable until the end!!!
I was reluctant to start this series as I usually read ones that include other supernatural species as well, but I’m grateful I gave in. Misty and the LeJune family are amazing. I hope there are more LeJune books in the works!!!

My family is from southern Louisiana and this book had so many things, people, and places I could actually picture. It was so much fun reading all the Cajun and the traditions!
What a crazy ride of adventure I loved it!! The more I read of Misty and her family and friends along with their animals the more I want to read. If you have not Jinxing Jackson Square you do not know what you are missing out on!! Bravo!!!
What an awesome seventh book in Misty and the gang's series! I am learning so much about Wicca. Lots of magic and crime solving in this one. I can't wait to see what happens next! Keep churning out the awesome stories, ladies!
Have just binge read all 6 books in the series. Really enjoyed all of them . Each book can be read as a stand alone. However once you read book 1 you will want to see what happens to the characters as they evolve. Full of majic and mayhem but also fun to read. I recommend this series to everyone of any age. I loved them all and hope Auburn and Caroline continue with the series.
When visiting Jackson Square, Luke catches a juvenile that attempts to pick his pocket. While escorting the kid to an officer near the edge of the square, the juvenile let’s slip that he’s working for someone else. This gives Luke an idea and he asks Misty to set up a Tarot reading booth on the famed square so he could catch others and see if he can get one of the kids to spill who their boss is. While Misty’s booth is packed, Luke sets about nabbing pick pockets and purse snatchers, but no one gives their boss up. When Luke finds out the name of the man who bails the kids out and sets about bringing him down. At the same time, he’s working the kidnapping case of a set of twins who were snatched from the soccer field. While working to get the boys back, Luke is tasered and kidnapped himself. Panic sets in at the LeJeune house as they scramble together to find where Luke was taken and get him home. Knowing he’s still recovering from his last surgery, the coven come together to find out where he is and attempt to rescue him. While all this is going on, we find out that the swamp area where Roweanne and Ben live is also home to Rougarou, the werewolf, and when Bobo’s mother is kidnapped, we find out that there’s more than just one werewolf living in the swamp. This time around the coven is celebrating Ostara, the planting of the garden and the cherry tree is a great way to honor the goddess. Again, in chapter 6 we have officer Coffee/Coffey. The name is still spelled two different ways in the chapter. A decision needs to be made on the spelling of this man’s name. I have noticed something worrisome with this series. Besides the fact that Luke is working with LT. White in the Missing Person’s unit of the New Orleans Police Department, there are at least one kidnapping of a character in each story, and usually more than one. For example, in this book, we’ve got Luke and Bobo’s mother. There are at least 10 in the 6 book series. I’m sure that there are other things that can be done to further a series along besides having to kidnap characters. With so many happening, it’s starting to wear very thin.
An organized crime ring of young pickpockets is on the loose and when they connect the kidnapping of twin boys to the ring, Misty and Luke work together (sometimes butting heads and get angry at each other) to find the twins. They also create jinxed dolls to sell in Jackson Square that stop the pickpockets and encourages them to turn themselves in. Like always there is much more going on in the story; werewolves are introduced, the rape trial finally takes place, curses are thrown around, people die and others saved, Luke gets mortally wounded again, and Forest gets a bunny.
I really enjoy this series and have read all the other books in the Regulator Biker, Q-file P.I., & Night Vipers series. Loved Misty since she was introduced in the other series. Obviously I like all the books since I've read these and intend to read all her other books. I'd suggest starting with the Regulator Biker series because that series is the beginning & ach series adds new characters that eventually lead to the Misty's Magick series.
Jinxing Jackson Square (Misty’s Magik and Mayhem Book 6) by Carolina Mac & Auburn Tempest. The town is hit by children pick pockets. Then twin boys are kidnapped by the thieves and when Luke tries to find them he is kidnapped and nearly killed by the thieves. With the help of Misty’s ghost father, Josiah and his band of ghosts, they eventually find Luke and the twins and break up the gang of pick pockets.
Can't put these books down! Misty is persuaded into performing in public and she is not happy. There's real danger heading in their direction and results in many tears, have some tissues handy.
Each story is good. I enjoy New Orleans and the family. Grandpa ghost is the best. Enjoy the crime solving and not having to have every book be a murder story. Great variety in the stories.
Yeah yeah, read the story Before I read the story I thought the bad guys were going to do the jinxing! I love how all the characters and stories weave together each book I feel like none are left out.
As usual Misty and her coven were in great spirits. The warm characters give the book a wonderful a sense of good verse bad. I can’t wait to read the next installment
Wow the adventures never end for Misty and her gang of witches and shifters. There are new cases for Luke and Misty to solve that is thwarted in danger.
