Weapons engineer x thoracic surgeon meet cute at a teahouse. An ordinary slice of life story but it gave me extraordinary feelings. The characters are so chill and laidback and the way they just match each other so well is just *chef's kiss*. The writing itself is atmospheric you can just feel the tenderness seep out of the story, subtle and yet you can't help but feel warm and cozy all over.

This author managed to conjure a slow burn romance within just 33 chapters, which is nothing short of a miracle. I can't recommend this enough if you're into drama-free, slice-of-life types of stories where the ordinary is presented as something beautiful.

很唯美的一個故事，劇情不複雜不狗血，文筆很美，也很喜歡人物的描寫。我很喜歡孟新堂這個角色的性格與思想觀念，他對人生世間抱持的態度讓我敬佩；而沈識檐的人設我也覺得很好，他的執著堅持，還有他想要幫助他人的真心與勇氣。這部作品中我唯一不能體會的就是孟新堂那種愛國的情懷，畢竟前提是我知道他為之所心甘情願付出的國家政府是中共——但是理論上這並不 (該) 影響我對整部作品以及其中角色的感想。

Short cozy read.
Ah, the author and translator have done it again... so good!
The unique sense of closeness through the most quotidian things that this author brings to their characters is hard to obtain elsewhere. You can submerge yourself in the tender atmosphere as they discover their feelings and themselves.
It is a mature read; a down to earth, realistic, love of two adults who are passionate about life. Poetic and philosophical, yet cute and balanced.

😭😭😭 thank you to the manhua for introducing me to such an amazing author...
i aboslutely loved the gorgeous prose in here - there's a myriad of banger lines in here that just exude this sense of otherworldly elegance and pure love - it does so much w/ minimal words. that is some INSANE craftmanship. i love u 高台樹色. 🫶🏻 the relationship between the two male leads was also super fluffy and cute, and the slow burn was LITERALLY THE BEST. 😩👌🏻 honestly, i don't have much to say bc it was utter perfection and I HIGHLY RECC THIS BOOK HEHEHE (and the manhua too!) 😋
only thing that i was a bit taken aback by was the incessant patriotism and civic pride in a gay romance book... i suppose it's not that jarring given that one of the male leads is a military engineer, but still it lowk kinda took me out of the lovey dovey vibes whenever they mentioned that aspect, hence why i removed a star lol. 😀
now i'm really excited to read the other works by this author~

เป็นนิยายชชวัยทำงาน30+เรื่องแรกในชีวิตที่อ่านจบแล้วรู้สึกอิ่มอกอิ่มใจมาก (แต่จะดียิ่งขึ้นไปอีกถ้าไปฟังเวอร์ชั่นเรดิโอ) เมิ่งซินถาง วิศวกร อยากรู้จักและสนิทสนมกับเสิ่นซื่อเหยียน หมอศัลยกรรมทรวงอกตั้งแต่แรกพบ และประทับใจในฝีมือการเล่นพิณผีผาของคุณหมอมาก จนถึงกับสร้างเรื่องโกหกว่าน้องสาวอยากเรียนเพื่อที่จะได้มีเรื่องพูดคุยกับคุณหมอที่เพิ่งเจอกันเป็นครั้งแรกเท่านั้น ตั้งแต่นั้นเป็นต้นมา ความสัมพันธ์ของทั้งสองก็ค่อยๆ พัฒนาขึ้น ส่วนตัวชอบที่มันเป็นไปอย่างช้าๆ ไม่รีบร้อน แล้วตามทันกันทั้งคู่ อีกคนรู้ตัวว่าชอบเขา ส่วนอีกคนก็รู้ว่าโดนอีกฝ่ายชอบ และต่างก็ตอบรับกันและกันได้ดี เขียนมาเยอะขนาดนี้ อยากให้มีแปลไทยมากๆ
