Shiloh James is the quintessential good girl. Despite the devil whispering in her ear, she has decided to wait and trust that God can send the perfect man into her life. He would be a righteous and good man. He definitely would not be the National Basketball Association's premier bad boy, Romeo Knight. From Shiloh's first encounter with Romeo there was something incredibly explosive between the, but not in a good way. Romeo Knight was annoyingly arrogant, incredibly selfish and inexcusably defiant. He was a wild haired, tatted up menace to society. Absolutely nothing like the Boaz she dreamed of. But dreams are one thing... and Romeo Knight was all together, something else. When Romeo's hot temper gets him indefinitely suspended from the NBA, God instructs Shiloh to help him. Although reluctant at first, she yields to the Holy Spirit, and slowly but surely she watches Romeo transform into the man God called him to be. Now she must determine if Romeo Knight is ready to be the man who will posses her heart.

This was my first read from this author and I am pleasantly surprised. I have read many books that are Christian fiction and when I'm done reading left wondering why this book was even put in this category and the title threw me a being one of those books. Shiloh was strong character and I liked her. She explains how even though she was seen as a perfect Christian by others she had a journey to get there and she was really relatable. Rome was dealing with so much anger and hurt that he was lashing out at people until his interest in Shiloh being better draws him close to God. Brent...,this dude here. Brent is the perfect example of someone who can portray to be the perfect Christian, walk with their head in the air and turn right around and let the enemy use them to do evil for their own personal gain. I'm glad Shiloh did not ignore that did that Brent threw at Rome about his parents.
Bad Boy Rome. He was happy with that bad boy persona until he wasn’t. Being forced to shed the persona could only occur with God’s timing. To help the timing, God placed an adorable young man agent agent right in his path. A saved, and spirit led talent agent/manager that wanted him to experience a turnaround. While Shiloh was very familiar with the Knight Family, Bad Boy Rome was not in her circle. The author weaved this character so well that it hard not to root for his success. It’s hard to dislike him. I deducted a star bec the author didn’t fully deal with the Koffee Brown situation, Brent, & Rich.
I don't know what I think about this. I enjoyed the spiritual part of the book but it ended so strange and left so much on the cliff that I was disappointed.
I'm hoping there is another with a better ending 🥴
Romeo knew he needed to change. However, it took developing a relationship with God, changing his friends, and listening to his heart to move his life forward.
