I received an ARC [Advanced Reader’s Copy] Mobi.file copy of this book from the author, and the following is my honest opinion.
The question I get asked from time to time these days is how an individual who’s into reading/reviewing numerous nonfiction Christian books can also be bothered into doing the same for books belonging to the genre of True Crime books. The reason is that I’ve been interested in reading these books before I got devoted to reading/reviewing Christian books. While it had been intriguing to find out what could ever drive anyone to commit such heinous, deplorable acts of violence against another individual in the past, it’s even more fascinating now when you bring the teachings of the Lord into the picture.
One would assume that theoretically, books for the genre of True Crimes would be easy to write, and mainly, they would be correct as these books merely require the research for the facts involved. However, there’s a certain intrinsic quality in the writing of this genre that is necessary to do it in a coherent, engaging manner which garners the interests of readers and to keep it through the reading of each murderous individual’s story, and the authors of these volumes; Ryan Becker, Kelly Gaines, Kurtis-Giles Veysey, and True Crime Seven seem to have accomplished this quite adequately.
In this compendium of the five volumes in the Murderous Minds series, which had previously have gotten published individually and are still available at $3.99 each for the KINDLE version, Mr. Becker and the other authors involved gives their readers a collection of 30 manipulative individuals who had used their skills to have their gullible individuals fall prey to whatever nefarious plans they had in their evil, convoluted minds. In each case, readers get given the childhood upbringing and life experiences of these individuals, none of which happen to have been a Christian one, to see what drove them to become the reprehensible individuals they are as adults. And while none of these stories might have never made the headlines in newspapers, they’re still just as gruesome.
At the price of only $3.99, it’s like getting FIVE books for the cost of ONE. In case anyone has any interest at all regarding why murderers do what they do and possibly why then this is the collection to buy or to give as a gift to anyone who is an aficionado of the genre of True Crime books.
As I stated at the beginning of my review, it’s even more fascinating now when you bring the teachings of the Lord into the picture as to what drove these individuals to commit their ungodly acts, and how the authors involved with this collection try to give their readers some enlightenment as to why this has occurred, I’m giving this collection and its authors 5 STARS.
If you want to peak into the dark side, this will provide everything you need. It borders on another level of evil reading this series and you must prepare yourself to be frightened, disturbed, and dirty after reading them all. But their way of writing the stories are perfect and you keep wanting to read more.
True Crime Seven is like gold to me . These were hauntingly disturbing , written in great detail but I couldn't stop until finished . the Simmons guy that murdered his whole family was probably the most disturbing to me ,, great books for the true crime lover. I enjoyed them greatly
No case is given an in-depth study, but that isn't the point of this book. This is an interesting overview of killers that didn't make the headlines. (The last set are really creepy, too!) Well worth the read if you like true crime.
I absolutely loved these books, so very interesting and so well written. I cant wait for the next book to come, ive read through these stories really fast, because its hard to put down!!
