Um ... I thought we were going head-to-head with Chomsky and the like. I thought this was supposed to be a comprehensive theory of everything? Instead, this was so broadly about everything that it wasn't about anything.

All that aside, it's a well-written book with lots of humor and friendly explanations. But it assumes other linguistic theories and attempts to "go meta" without helping with boots on the ground. Skip it, or just pick of the linguistic jokes and not the so-called philosophy.
