Gabe
The new Assistant U.S. Attorney was the last person I needed in my business... or my bar. The way she walked in wearing a tight suit and red power heels, flashing that badge should be illegal.

Asking her for help was a mistake. Wanting her was a complication, one that I couldn't afford. We were from two different worlds.

Taylor was spoiled, privileged and in way over her head. I was just the bad boy that girls like her were attracted to, a passing phase. An itch to scratch.

I was no good for her and never would be.

Taylor
New Orleans was a fresh start, a chance to reinvent myself and do some good. Too bad the first person I met was a grumpy bartender with a chip on his shoulder.

He said I knew nothing about his city, the people or what they needed. But one look at the bad boy bartender and I knew exactly what I needed. Even if I refused to admit it.

Gabe was a connection to the community. Offering to waitress at his bar in exchange for his help had nothing to do with his flexing biceps or tattoos.

He thought he knew me, that I couldn't handle him or the city... but he was wrong.

The man threw the large bags up and into the dumpster and when they landed with a thud, he brushed off his hands. He turned and walked back toward me. His lips tilted into a smirk as his gaze traveled from the tip of my head down my suit-clad body, my bare legs, to my red patent leather heels—my power shoes for days when I was out of my element.

I took in his blond hair trimmed close to his head, his chiseled jaw, almost-black eyes, and arched my brow at the challenge I saw in them, licking my suddenly dry lips. This man had never seen the inside of an office. He might have seen the inside of a courtroom though—most likely from the opposite side of the one where I stood.

Taylor, the new Assistant U.S. Attorney working as a waitress in his bar, and Gabe, a bartender with a record seem like on paper a bad idea. But there's something so effortlessly kind about Taylor that it draws Gabe in, and even though he fights it like hell, he can't help but be around her, fall into her. He knows he's not good for her, not good enough for her, but he can't help himself. But will the chip on his shoulder and his endless insecurities hurt Taylor's giant heart one too many times, one last time enough that she cuts ties and goes back home to Maryland, back to the brother Gabe said she was selfish to have left?

Wow, I really wasn't expecting the heartbreak Easy Moves presented. I was perhaps expecting something a bit more lighthearted, but what I got was a thoroughly engrossing tale about one very damaged man and the woman who loved him, but couldn't make him love himself. I think my favorite part of the story was Taylor - she just had this big heart, and was so unselfish and caring, constantly putting everyone's needs before her own, and it was a little hard to read as Gabe constantly hurt her, allowed his insecurities to do his talking for him. I knew he had a wonderful, caring heart too, it was just buried beneath so much pain and old fears that it took some doing for it to come out. Thank God he took his head out of his ass finally and went and proved to Taylor what she had told him all along - that he was the man for her, that he deserved love and happiness too.

Taylor moves to New Orleans to start over so to speak, to make something out of her life on her own. She is working for the States Attorney's Office and wants to make a difference. Gabe is a felon, someone that should look the other direction when it comes to Taylor. But unfortunately there is something that drives him to her. Gabe is tough on himself and wants to change but doesn't know how. Will Taylor be able to help him or will he end up hurting her? I loved this storyline and these two characters. Both are so very well written and so strong. They are both stubborn when it comes to themselves and what goes on with the people around them. This was quite the storyline from the beginning to the end. I was hooked wanting to know what was going to happen between Gabe and Taylor and how things were going to work out with all the characters involved with these two. Lea is an amazing writer and this one shows that talent. Highly recommend this one

Driven by heart. Haunted by shadows. Taylor and Gabe are halves of a whole. Both are seeking to escape the heartache that dogs them, yet refuse to acknowledge the happiness that slowly beckons to them. Easy Moves is a tale of moving forward and letting go. It's a journey of risk that speaks to the soul at it's most vulnerable. Coll reminds readers that love is a lot like life. Not always pretty, but rewarding if given a chance. Emotions are on full display. Hearts will break, but hope proves to be a living thing that lightens the load enough to mend that broken heart.

Hooked on You is the prequel to the Annapolis Harbor Series, it was originally published as Easy Moves but this addition has an new extended epilogue, it’s Gabe and Taylor’s story and it’s one of those stories that you know will stay with you long after the final words have been read.
Moving to New Orleans and leaving her family behind finds Taylor looking into local crime and that leads her to a bar and that’s where she meets a bad boy who goes by the name of Gabe.
This is a story about making a difference, it’s about caring for people and doing what is right even if it’s not what’s best for you. Taylor is an amazing woman with heart of gold and Gabe is a man hiding behind his bad boy image but as their story unfolds and we watch this couple getting to know each other we see them learning to put trust in each other and becoming stronger together. I fell hard and fast for Gabe even though I didn’t want too, I adored Taylor, the chemistry is sizzling, the attraction is instant and their story is heartwarming so I urge you to one click this gem of a read, you won’t be disappointed.

4 star Review Hooked on You by Lea Coll

Hooked on You was previously published as Easy Moves and is Gabe and Taylor’s story. It is the prequel to the Annapolis Harbor series and has an extended epilogue. I have read a couple of books in this series but now I am determined to go back and read the entire series as soon as possible.

Taylor leaves everyone behind when she moves to New Orleans for a fresh start. Walking in to Gabe’s bar, she finds a grumpy man with a huge chip on his shoulder. I really liked both Taylor and Gabe, total opposites who should not work and yet the attraction that sizzles between them is hard to ignore.

There is so much more Gabe that the gruff exterior and bad boy persona he portrays. There is something about a bad boy that ticks the boxes for me and Gabe certainly did that. It was entertaining to watch the push and pull as their relationship developed.

Taylor is determined to make a difference, she really is one of those people that you cannot help but admire. I liked how these two supported one another. A well written story that dew me in and held my attention throughout.

Easy Moves is a stand-alone novel set in the Boudreaux Universe (created by Kristen Proby) and it's written by Lea Coll. The author is new to me, but I plan on sampling some of her other works to better understand her writing style.

You see, there was one big problem for me when it came to this book. I hated Gabe. I found his behavior very negative and even toxic when it came to how he treated Taylor. Thought the book he was punishing her the actions of other people and his own past, which was inexcusable in my book. She did nothing, but try to help in every way she could and not only because she was obligated from her work to do so. I was not happy with him. While reading the book, I realized that if in the end, Gabe and Taylor were not a couple and went their separate ways, I wouldn't have been mad. I would have been happy. Gabe's character growth happened overnight and it was not believable.

So yeah, I hated one of the two main characters. I couldn't bring myself to like him and I never will. Taylor had her hang-ups too, but she was more relatable and I liked that even for a while she stood up for herself. I am not going for a lower rating, because I don't feel like the book overall deserves it.

This book is remarkable! I have never read any of the books in the Boudreaux Universe so I really wasn't sure what to expect.

I fell in love with Gabe and Taylor. The push and pull of their relationship was both heartwrenching and heartwarming at times. As soon as they met, I was rooting for them. Gabe is rough around the edges but is a good guy by nature. He has a hard time seeing his worth but Taylor helps to bring all of his good qualities to the forefront of their interactions. Taylor as spent her whole like doing what she felt was her responsibility instead of living her life. Gabe helps her to see the importance of doing what is right for her and not anyone else. These characters felt so real to me. I could feel their emotions and understand their actions which created a book that I had a hard time putting down.

I cannot wait to recommend this book to my friends! I will be talking about it for a long time.

I’m a big fan of Kristen Proby’s Boudreaux series so I was incredibly excited to dive back into that world. Easy Moves by Lea Coll is my first book by the author and it was a great addition to the existing series.

I loved Taylor. She’s a strong, independent woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go achieve it. Gabe rocked so many book-boyfriend of boxes: bad-boy past, tattoos, and working hard to redeem himself. Nothing hotter than a reformed bad boy with a good heart.

Taylor and Gabe were a great couple! They were the definition of opposites attracting and I loved all the delicious tension that came with it. Their connection, chemistry, and passion was fantastic and rooted for them hard. Still, their story was written in a way that felt very real. Both are so different from the other, but exactly what the other person needs.

I really enjoyed Easy Moves and look forward to more from Lea Coll. Awesome addition to the Boudreaux series. 4 stars.

Lea Coll is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Easy Moves was amazing!! This book is part of the Boudreaux series started by author Kristen Proby. This is the only book I've read in this set so they can be read as a stand alone. However, I can't wait to read more in the series because they have some great authors participating.

Easy Moves is an opposites attract story with the bad boy and good girl. What really got me about Taylor and Gabe's story is that they are both imperfect and broken. Gabe has trust and confidence issues due to a crap child hood and doesn't believe he can amount to anything. Taylor feels like she is the only one that can care for her autistic brother and feels guilty when she finally starts living her life for herself.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (5 out of 5 stars) This wasn't just a love story. It was a personal growth story and that really gave it more meaning and had me way more invested in these characters. Taylor and Gabe gave me hope, broke me, tossed the pieces all over the place, and then finally put me back together.

Taylor has always put the needs of her family before hers so relocation to New Orleans and her job as a Prosecutor as a fresh start. Gabe is a man with a trouble past that he regrets, and he is working hard to ensure that his future doesn’t follow the same path.

When her job has them spending time together Gabe realizes that there is a lot more to her than her privileged upbringing while she appreciates the man that he has become not the one who made mistakes. Developing feelings for each other was unexpected but will they allow their pasts to destroy the future they could have together?

I really enjoyed these two together as they are both damaged by their pasts in different ways and although they couldn’t have been more different they give each other exactly what they need.

This was a great book! Gabe and Taylor are both great characters dealing with the weight of their pasts. Gabe is an excon who doesn't think he is worthy of anything and love. Taylor has lived her life for her autistic brother and finally left home to strike out on her own. I immediately connected with the characters and was pulled into the story. The author did an amazing job describing the wonderful city I call home, especially the bit about red beans on Mondays lol. All in all this was a great read with real, relatable characters well paced storyline.

OMG!!! Love this read! ❤️💕❤️

Taylor has moved to New Orleans to start her life. Accepting a temporary job in the US District Attorney’s office is a chance to experience life a bit without taking care of her autistic brother. Don’t get her wrong, she loves her brother, but she wants to experience what the world has to offer.

During an outreach program, she volunteers for at work, she meets a sexy rugged bad boy named Gabe. He is unlike any one she ever dated. He is sweet, kind, hardworking and a caregiver. Only problem is he doesn’t feel he is any of those things. Fallen for this bad guy could be the worst thing for her heart, but how can she not fall.

When he tears her heart in two and she is called back to Maryland, she may never be the same. Will she give up and turn tail and return to Maryland for good.

This was a wonderful and sweet story. It is heartbreaking and uplifting all in one. Gabe is a wonderful but very stubborn character. Taylor and Gabe have amazing chemistry. You can see the sparks from the very first interaction.

I did find that this book had a couple other stories in the background that the author could have developed a bit more. But it did not take away from the story, but could have added a bit more drama and danger.

Overall this book is amazing and has wonderful characters. I would love to see a story about Issac in the future. I really love the story line. It was a steady paced read with lots of love and lots of heartbreak. If you love a story about bad boys loving good girls then this book is for you.

What happened in Gabe's past caused him to be very cautious, wary and feel insecure to move on to greater things in life. That's why he thought he didn't deserve a woman like Taylor. Taylor feel like she needs to take care of her autistic brother. So when she left her hometown to pursue her dream job, she felt like she's a selfish person.

Both have issues and insecurities, it was a long journey for them to work out their issues while navigating their new relationship.

I enjoyed this book very much. I liked Taylor and Gabe together. This was a well written book.

I loved this story. Gabe and Taylor are absolutely adorable together. Lea Coll does an amazing job creating characters that are easily to connect with and relatable. The characters are so well developed and the story line was easy to follow. I caught myself smiling and feeling all giddy as I read the book, I may have even shed a tear or two. I found this to be a sweet and heart warming story that left me feeling happy and hopeful.

Taylor, is an Assistant U.S. Attorney working in New Orleans. She meets Gabe, a bartender, at a local bar that she is sent to visit in regards to crime that is happening in the neighborhood. The sparks between the two start flying immediately. Gabe, sees Taylor as the girl that is out of reach for him. His past was filled with people who constantly put him down and didn't believe in him. Taylor, was everything but that. She is a caring, loving, passionate, and selfless person. She puts the needs of others before her own and when it came to Gabe, she put down her shield and opened up to him. Something she never did in the past. As the two start working together and get to know one another better, their feelings begin to grow and they see each other in a different light. However, Gabe has a hard time believing that Taylor would want to be with him, and that she deserves someone that is better than him. As the story progresses, Taylor learns more about Gabe and what is special to him. But when he gets approached by family services he thinks the worst of Taylor, and causes their relationship to crumble. Words are spewed and feelings are hurt, but will an apology be enough to fix it?

Another great romance from Lea Coll. I loved watching Gabe and Taylor's relationship develop. Gabe thinks he is unworthy of anything good. He comes from a rough background and has a record. Taylor is an Assistant US Attorney and comes from a good family. They are total opposites but are totally meant for each other. Their journey isn't an easy one but both neither are willing to give up. They both have big hearts who will do anything for those they love. You can't go wrong with this feel good romance with a sweet ending.

I enjoyed this story for the most part. Taylor and Gabe make a great couple. Their personalities complement each other well. The one thing I didn't like was the inner dialogue of both main characters. She thinks no one will want her because she's selfish and wanted to experience life on her own not taking care of her brother and he thinks he's no good for anyone because he made some bad decisions in his youth. I get that it's part of their storyline, but this was constant all throughout the book. It got to be a bit much.

I think I read in another review that this series also goes along with Kristen Proby's Boudreaux series. I've not read that, but I really wish authors would tell you this stuff somewhere. I'm the type of reader that if a book is somehow attached to another series with some characters, I want to read them in order. It helps make the book/series for me so much better.

I really enjoy this book, it was light, fun, good relationships and had some good things to say about family and how to have a life apart from everything you knew at life. Lea Coll does a good job writing the story between Gabe and Taylor, bringing the story as close as possible to reality.

Taylor is a wonderful girl, with a big heart and as selfless as one can be. She is the newest Assistant U.S. Attorney in New Orleans. She left behind her family, especially her autistic brother, in Annapolis, Maryland. But this decision to move didn’t come light for her and we get see her struggle with that through the book. I just loved who strong, articulate, how she cares and protected the ones she love. But most of all I liked how she knew her value and give it back as good as she received.

Gabe is a bartender at a local bar where Taylor is sent to visit and check the crimes that is happening in the neighborhood. He is the kind of guy who doesn’t trust easily, went through a lot in life and because of mistake he did when younger and served time for it, he thinks he doesn’t deserve anything in life, that he would always be the bad boy. I felt so sorry for him and the lack of a caring person in his life while growing up, that what he was doing for Zack made me so happy!

Taylor and Gabe were opposites but at the same time they had to overcome their insecurities. And the process while painful for both was beautiful, with every page you read, you’re able to see their growth.

During a relapse from Gabe, he said some awful things to Taylor and I loved her response to him, she truly deserved better. However as soon as Gabe realized the mess he did, I also loved how willing to make things right for her, how far he would go and how to respect her and her family.

They were adorable together, their chemistry were off charts and they brought the best of each other. I like the ending a lot and kept wishing to see more about their future.

Lea Coll, ‘Easy Moves’.
A Boudreaux Universe Novel.

As a Hidden Gems ARC reader I received a free copy and promised an honest review. Here it is.

Rating: 4,5 stars (of 5).

In general: Ex juvenile delinquent falls for female US prosecutor.

Main characters:
- Taylor Leeds (26).
She’s an Assistant US Prosecutor now working in New Orleans, who escaped for some time from her family in Annapolis, (near Washington DC). At home she and her parents had to care for her severely autistic brother, Caleb (24). That and her study took all her time and, although gorgeous looking, she had no serious dates.
Before her parents are too old to care for her brother she wants to live and work far from home for awhile, before returning to Annapolis and take over the care for Caleb.

- Gabe (30)
He’s a bartender. He never knew his dad and his mom wasn’t very interested in him, so he didn’t finish his school, got involved in criminal activities and spent some time in jail. Now he cares for a boy in his neighborhood, Zack, 15 years younger than him. Gabe tries to prevent that Zack (also with an absent dad and a non-caring mom) will make the same mistakes he did.

Gabe and Taylor meet for the first time during her legal job in New Orleans. There’s immediately a physical click, but also an emotional distance: Gabe hates everything connected with the judicial system and at first behaves brusquely and aloof. But they have to collaborate in Taylor’s project and gradually they get along better. After some time their different social background and the care for Zack and Caleb causes problems for a permanent relationship.
The author Lea Coll describes the problems with insight and feeling and, at the same time, creates a credible, suspenseful plot for the solution of all those complications. For me a pleasure to read.

Gabe has been stuck, living life in a vacuum. An ex-con, he's lived life avoiding the public where he could and keeping to the safe existence he's accustomed to. He's unaccustomed to genuine help, real compliments and true love, so when Taylor Leeds walks into his bar, outlining her plans, he's instantly suspicious.

Taylor is finally doing something for herself. Moving away from the comfort of home and family, she's determined to try to make her new job work until she has to move back home. Becoming attracted to Gabe wasn't part of the plan, but she can't help but fall for him in spite of the walls he keeps erecting around his heart. Will Taylor's affirmation and love be enough?

I really enjoyed Easy Moves. Gabe & Taylor were easy to love, as they had relateable issues. Neither main character was perfect, but I loved the way that they worked together to make things work out for the best. I also loved the way the author described different sections of New Orleans - she gave me wanderlust & an even stronger desire to visit the Big Easy.

Despite the title, Easy Moves is not an easygoing romance. It has so many feels, so many deep moments that caused even me to become introspective. It tells the story of how love can change people, but only if they're truly ready.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.

Gabe and Taylor are polar opposites, but are definitely drawn to each other. Gabe is the proverbial bad boy who doesn't live in the best area, whereas Taylor, an Assistant US Attorney, has the look of someone who comes from a background of wealth and privilege. When Taylor walks into Gabe's bar in her suit and heels, he is adamant that he cannot get involved with her. But when Taylor agrees to work as a waitress at the bar in return for an introduction to local business owners, Gabe realizes that he may not be able to keep away from Taylor, while all the time thinking that he isn't good enough for her. As they spend more and more time together and realizing they are falling in love, both of them open up about their lives and share their secrets and innermost vulnerabilities, but ultimately they use these vulnerabilities to hurt each other.
I love how this story flowed quickly, the characters had depth and made you become invested in their future. There are several bumps in the road that threaten to derail their relationship and because of how Ms. Coll makes you feel about her characters, you want Gabe and Taylor to overcome these obstacles, work things out and be happy.

I haven't read any of the other books in the Boudreaux series, but after reading this one I definitely will be. It was a wonderful story
with many touching moments.

Taylor moved to New Orleans for her career, and is trying to help the community. Gabe, a local bartender, think's she isn't the right person for the job because she grew up privilege. Their attraction was instant, their chemistry off the charts, but will that be enough for Taylor and Gabe relationship?

Taylor is a wonderful person, and is truly trying to help the world be a better place. I absolutely love characters with a ton of empathy. Not only is she trying to put pedophiles behind, but she's also trying to help a community she never grew up in. She's an inspirational character.

At first, I didn't like Gabe. He was judging Taylor by how she looked, and didn't want to her a chance to change his town. He had a lot of insecurities that stopped him from living his life and becoming a better person. Taylor was able to help Gabe realize his potential. By the end though, he was a fantastic book boyfriend.

The plot was intriguing, and had a few sensitive issues that aren't normally mentioned. This book shows that opposites attract, and can be together in a fantastic relationship. It may take hard work and dedication, but Gabe and Taylor have what it takes. They balance each other out in the best ways. I'm excited to read the rest of this series.

Bad boy with a bruised heart healed by love
Easy Moves (A Boudreaux Universe Novel) by Lea Coll is a very well written romance that is full of heart. Gabe and Taylor are so wonderful together and I loved reading their love story. Equally sweet and steamy, their back stories, while opposite in some ways, are also quite similar. Both have baggage that causes strife, their antagonist, in their pursuit of love.
The plot of this book was very intriguing and the setting in New Orleans was fun and exciting as Gabe shows Taylor the city he loves. As their connection deepens and love begins to blossom, these two are great together. For me, this couple makes this book awesome and I think they will be characters that stay with me long after I’ve finished this book.
Overall, a really enjoyable read with wonderful characters who aren’t perfect, but love one another enough to let love keep them together for a really promising HEA with just about everything they could ever want theirs for the taking.

I adored this book, Lea Coll is a wonderful author and I really enjoyed reading Easy Moves! I am new to this world, but I did not feel as if I was missing out while reading. Gabe and Taylor are COMPLETE opposites and this book is an emotional journey that you do not want to miss. When you have one person that lives in the legal system and the other trying to stay as far as possible from it, things will definitely be interesting!

Lea Coll created an emotional book that shows opposites attract and not to judge a book by it's cover. The book is heartfelt and keeps you on your toes. If you are looking for a book that has characters that are real and relatable and doesn't shy away from the hard subjects, you need to read this book right away. It was a GREAT read! 4.5 outta 5 stars for sure from me!

Lea Coll seriously wrecked me with her new book, and I'm not sure if I should hug her or send threats as I'm STILL hungover from them all! Taylor is the new assistant US Attorney with a huge heart! She ALWAYS puts everyone else before her, and there wasn't one thing wrong with her in my eyes! She meets a bartender named Gabe, who has a record, and on paper isn't the best thing for her. However, she looks past that to a man she's falling for, but he has some very big demons which had me so enraged by his actions towards her. He hurt her time & time again because of those demons, and I spent a lot of time calling him named of the colorful variety! Will he ever get his head out of his behind for a chance at something great?! You'll have to hit those one click buttons to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

MAN, I am gonna read the (you know what) out of Lea Coll from this point forward!! When was someone going to clue me in on her word power?! You’re all fired!!

Easy Moves is one of those stories that sneaks up on you. Everything is fine and then BAM all you’re doing is feeling and feeling and more damn feeling! GAH! What a beautifully developed story of growth and demon slaying and trust and hope and friendship and love!! The story was both poignant and hopeful all in one giant swoop! I could not get enough of this romance journey because it was more than a romance journey. SO MUCH MORE.

Gabe … man, he was a tough nut that guy! LOL Written so damn well for Taylor. They pushed each other to be better even if they didn’t know they were doing it. It was clear as day how perfect they fit, and I could not be a happier reader right now because of it! Absolutely amazeballs!!

Taylor has spent her whole life doing what she felt was her responsibility instead of living her life. Gabe helps her to see the importance of doing what is right for her and not anyone else. These characters felt so real to me. I could feel their emotions and understand their actions which created a book that I had a hard time putting down.

I cannot wait to recommend this book to my friends! I will be talking about it for a long time.
