This instalment follows Dead Boat in a fine fashion. I’m inexplicably drawn to the haunting worlds the author builds in these novellas—grim, gross, and yet I can’t look away. Dead Town is a thoroughly enjoyable historical horror read. And I am excited to see how the third book plays out!

This book carried me along a path of horror and violence that shocked me. I’ve read stuff like this before but I have to say this one is above most of them. Fast paced and intense, the details won’t big you down from running from the horror this author inspires!

Just the right kind of short horror novel for an evening by the fireplace.

Edward Dunn considered himself among the first of Cornwall’s finest night watchmen, and he might have led a successful life had he not chanced upon a pendant, which unknown to him had earlier turned up ashore along with a very dead, gnawed and mutilated body. Unfortunately for Edward, the pendant animated the dead and drew them to itself, urging them to expand their tribe. Also unfortunately for Edward, he soon found himself rundown by the now ravenous body that the pendant had arrived with, soon becoming among the first of Cornwall’s undead. And they’re thirsting for blood and violence. What could be in store for the town of Penzance?

Anthony Redden’s skillfully authored a fluid, relentlessly captivating and gripping story. The second book in The Dead Trilogy series is an evocative short horror novel that’s perfect for an evening by the fire. Will keep an eye out for the next book in the series.

I wanted to rate it higher, I like short stories. This one is a little gruesome, but if you don't take it serious it is entertaining.

The thing I didn't like was the constant change of characters. Just when you thought you knew who the story was about was they disappeared. It turns out the main character wasn't a character at all.

It is a short and easy read, so if you are looking to escape for a couple of hours you may like it.

I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily offering this review.
