To become a savior, one must first train

It’s my sixteenth birthday and everyone is asking what I want for my future. I can’t answer this question, not when I’m the guardian of Earth.

I have been training for ten years with my shape shifting mentor in secret, learning how to defend my planet against alien attacks, but I never met one before. Tonight, however, everything is about to change.

My mentor detected an alien intruder and it’s up to me to interfere before the invader brings his entire species to my home, but I am not sure I can do it. Even though I was born with a special gene that enhances my power, I don’t know if my heart is ready for me to take a life.

Moud Adel

Moud Adel is an Egyptian author who lives in France. His mother tongue is Arabic, and his daily language is French. Yet, he insists on writing his fantasy stories in English, using Arabic only when writing poems. When asked about why he doesn’t write in Arabic, which has come up a few times, his answer is always the same because he can express himself better in English. However, on separate occasions, he can also be found debating the beauty of the Arabic language and how rich with words it is. He claims that every emotion can be better described in Arabic for the sole reason that his birth language has more word variations that touch on every feeling.
Confronted by his contradiction, Moud claims that both answers are correct. He says that his home language, while indeed rich with words, is better suited for reaching into his own heart. That when it comes to fantasy, Arabic becomes more of a cliché and makes his words feel more like satire. And since he loves fantasy with every ounce in his soul, he will accept only what does it justice.

💖💖💚 An EXCELLENT YA surprise !

Somewhere in a school of Egypt, John, 16, is dreaming, waiting for his professor to come in the classroom.
He's observing Inas, his best friend.

The professor Leila is coming, the class is beginning.
The subject today is : "what do you want to do next year ?".

The problem is that John doesn't know yet...

-----------

An incredible youth sci-fi story about the dangerous adventures of a teenager who is predestined to be the guardian of planet Earth.

A great action-packed Book whose pages are swallowed up and whose you absolutely want to know what will happen next.

An EXCELLENT YA surprise !
I recommend.

John is Earth's one defense

Here we meet John as he trains to be Earth's one guardian against alien invasion. The day is his birthday and all he wants is time, but not only doesn't he get that rather his day gets worse. A voice that won't let up that seems to him to come out of nowhere. What is he supposed to do?

This is a good start to YA series although it came across to me as a little as a little stiff. It's a great concept and it seems like the story could be good, but I'll have to continue the series to see. I would recommend this book for a younger type of audience

I didn't know what to expect because first contact has been done over and over again. But this is more like the young guardian is untested and may be facing an unimaginable, ferocious enemy. Will he be strong and mature enough to fight this great threat as the only Earth Guardian? It is more like a wimpy superman who's powers still remain to be seen. The style comes off as stiff but this idea has promise. I got this one free for this review.
