Drow Princess for Hire.

Grab this exclusive boxed set containing the first 8 books in the best-selling Alison Brownstone series today!

Her Father's Daughter:

Skills include wielding dual magics, stabbing bad guys with the pointy end, and protecting the good people of Seattle from dark wizards.

Also wraps a mean sashimi roll.

The name Brownstone evokes a certain reaction no matter who hears it. And for Alison Brownstone that’s both a blessing and a curse.

But it’s time for her to step out of her dad’s shadow and make a new name for herself.

On Her Own:

What’s the harm in taking a break from protecting the city for one date? Alison is about to find out…

Bounty hunter license in hand and attitude in place, Alison is ready to house-train the city’s malevolent magicals.

But even a Brownstone needs a little downtime!

Courting can be tricky when you’re busy taking out the neighborhood trash and facing off assassination attempts by power-armored goons.

My Name is Alison:

What’s stronger than magic itself? A Brownstone with a mission.

Brownstone Security continues cleansing Seattle’s magical mobster underbelly while Alison draws strength from her trusted circle as she fights off the virus draining her powers.

She uncovers the smuggling of magical pets and the harmful side effects of testing savage spells on humans and still has time to chase down her enemies.

It’s dirty, dangerous work and leaves her friends the targets of vicious attacks.

The Family Business:

The Bitch is back.

Alison’s powers are restored, and her magic is sizzling

Dark Wizards gather in Seattle for a meeting. Alison isn't about to let them set up business in her town.

Her friends have her back, even if one of them may be a traitor.

The Brownstone Effect:

When you want an Angel, call God. When you want someone to kick ass… Call a Brownstone.

Alison and her team are looking to expand Brownstone Security. Good timing, too, as it sounds like something is brewing.

An unexpected phone call sends Alison to D.C. where she meets up with an old friend.

Danger follows this Brownstone, but it isn’t prepared for her counter.

The Dark Princess:

When a Power Broker is threatened, she knows who to call… a Brownstone.

Alison and her team have to travel across the world to protect Abigail Wilson, CEO of Aeternum, as she negotiates for mining rights of a mysterious crystal.

The simple escort mission turns deadly. They aren’t the only ones interested in the crystal’s power.

8 Book Omnibus for long-term time investment

I love the entire Universe between books and authors being spread out. But man, it can get really hard to keep up with what order the books or series might best be read in. For example, I remember the school books, Izzie..,.. the pet dragon....even the Brownstone name vaguely. But Allison? I couldn't quite remember her details, and didn't want to stop reading this to go hunt down her dad's stories, then her stories from school, refresh myself on Shay and James, etc. So a Foreword to summarize what books she was featured in, or how to best chronologically approach a character with this much OMNIBUS BOOK INVESTMENT ahead of her character would be nice. Sometimes, even after 8 books, I feel like her character is cold and swiss cheesed because I can't remember her backstory from whatever other books in this HUGE universe she was in. I think over all, that's a consideration for the entire universe, and any book/author/series/omnibus moving forward. To keep the universe organized, we need a 'family tree' flow chart of books and characters. Not just a random list at the beginning of each book, but DETAILS. There's a LOT of meat on the bones of this Universe now. It's time to start treating it like a real world and play 6 Degrees of James Brownstone or something!

I obviously love the books and the universe, but I read a LOT of things, and it is hard to keep every detail straight when I read 10 ish books per month sometimes. During the pandemic, I've been reading anything I can shove into my eyeballs to pass the time. So when I rotate back to a Michael Anderle Universe book..... I get the gist, but I'm also lost. Because uniquely, his creation is massive, and it works. It just needs some cohesive tweaking. But Martha did a great job on these 8, and I'm jumping into Omnibus 2 with no reservations. If you're not reading these books and getting into this Universe, you're missing out on a creative collaboration that is mind boggling and slick. Worth the investment of your imagination and time.

(FYI I tend to only review one book per series, unless I want to change my scoring by 0.50 or more of a star. -- I tend not to read reviews until after I read a book, so I go in with an open mind.)

3.75*

First time read the author's work?: No

Will you be reading more?: Yes

Would you recommend?: Yes

------------
How I rate Stars: 5* = I loved (must read all I can find by the author)
4* = I really enjoyed (got to read all the series and try other books by the author).
3* = I enjoyed (I will continue to read the series)
or
3* = Good book just not my thing (I realised I don't like the genre or picked up a kids book to review in error.)

All of the above scores means I would recommend them!
-
2* = it was okay (I might give the next book in the series a try, to see if that was better IMHO.)
1* = Disliked

Note: adding these basic 'reviews' after finding out that some people see the stars differently than I do - hoping this clarifies how I feel about the book. :-)

I got halfway through the omnibus and just stopped reading it. It's the same thing over and over just with new bad guys called something else. I really tried to keep reading it because I loved the first two books and a little something new was added. However, the stuff I find the most interesting after the butt-kicking, such as learning how to truly come to her potential with magic, wasn't ever expanded on. It was constantly I'm awesome, my family is awesome, I'm making other people awesome, my name makes me who l am but I'm trying to become my own person, I ran these guys out of town, if you don't surrender I'll just kill you, etc over and over.

Could not put it down!

As with every book or series I've read from Martha Carr and/or Michael Anderle, I had to use every ounce of willpower to put it down. If my phone rang during reading time I would have to fight anger. The characters are all a bit flawed which I find makes them more interesting. I also love seeing Allison come into her own. Be prepared to lose yourself in this first set of Allison books or start with anything else in the Oriceran Universe and don't forget about the authors. Reading anything by either author is sure to be a great time and well worth your time.

Wow!

What a ride it has been! This series has been great. So much going on all the time. Alison, having formed an agency, somewhat like her fathers, has given her the satisfaction that she has needed. Support from her parents and from her boyfriend Mason, has given her the strength to continue on. Plus she meets and learns from an ancient woman who used to serve her mother. As I've written so much happens and I look forward to the next group of books. Thanks to the authors for so much entertainment!

Don't get in the way of a Brownstone

Alison Brownstone becomes as feared by criminals as they fear her father. As a Drow princess she and her friends take down all the bad guys. This is a fun, magical shootem up fantasy.

Excellent reading adventure.

Take a portal to the other side of the globe to save the world from evil and build long lasting friendship with a whole collection of fascinating characters. Books one through eight were great and I look forward to the next adventure.

Better than average, but gets repetitive

I have a sharp mind for plot, so many novels trip my stupid meter and I won't continue. These are a bit better than average on that score, but after the first five of eight stories I just shelved this set, as the overall storyline got repetitive. I.e. stupid arrogant dark mages come after Brownstone, Brownstone "I'm gonna kick your ass", Brownstone easily kicks ass, rinse and repeat...

Exciting read

Lots of action big ongoing story line with lots of little stories mixed in to keep it exciting and fun. People die, some times horrifically, so reader discretion is advised...

amazing

Wow, loved the necessary school of magic, but adult Alison adventures are amazing. The life she has built and the fighting she win are such great adventures. Can’t wait to get into the next omnibus #2. Too bad my kindle app counts these as a single book. LOL.

Best series ever, with the exception of all the great series that LMBPN pumps out all the time!

This is an awesome read. I read the books as there were originally released but the impact of all, one after the other, is awesomeness! I'm a fully sated fan. Peace!

Good read to pass the time.
I did start to skip over the battle parts as they seemed to get a bit long winded.
But I enjoyed reading the story.
