Patricia Johns’ sensitive storytelling brings depth and heart to this tender story of second chances, as an Amish woman embarks on marriage with the gruff farmer next door . . . Once, Leah Riehl prayed for a husband. The man she loved chose another, wanting the children that Leah can’t provide. But she’s found a measure of peace, keeping house for her brother, Simon, and teaching in a nearby town. Now though, Simon’s debts to an Englisher gambling ring have left Leah with a desperate dilemma—and a surprising offer from her scarred, reclusive neighbor. Jebadiah King needs to marry in order to claim his family farm. A union, for appearances only, will help them both. Jeb knows his scars make him a less than ideal husband, but he can be a useful one. It’s the least that Leah deserves. But despite the promises he made to himself, Jeb can’t help longing for his lovely, warmhearted new wife. His first marriage brought heartbreak, but Leah’s gentle smiles spark hope again. Are they willing to take the leap that love requires—and open themselves to all the challenges and joy a true marriage could bring?
Leah Riehl's engagement ended when she told her fiancé she was unable to have children. To escape her heartbreak, she took an out-of-town teaching position. Now she's back for the summer and is horrified to learn that her younger brother Simon has been gambling and owes a lot of money to some dangerous Englishers. Jebadiah King has kept to himself since a barn fire that killed his wife and left him badly scarred. He wants nothing to do with the community that has never supported him and is content to spend the rest of his life alone. However, his uncle left an unexpected clause in his will - Jeb needs to marry again if he wants to get his inheritance. A marriage of convenience will solve both his and Leah's problems. Except their straightforward arrangement turns out to be much more complicated than they imagined.
A sweet and touching Amish love story with two tropes I enjoy very much: marriage of convenience and beauty and the beast inspired. Leah and Jeb were lovable and realistic characters, and I was rooting for them. I enjoyed seeing their romance develop. You know that they'll eventually fall in love but the when kept me on the edge of my seat. Props to the author, she did a phenomenal job of creating romantic tension between them. Loved the emphasis on what it means to be in a happy marriage and the ups and downs of being a part of a tightly knitted community. These two topics really resonated with me. Overall, this was an enjoyable read. I love this author's writing style and storylines. I look forward to reading more books by her. Highly recommend this story of love, forgiveness, second chances, and finding your place in a community.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
One simple Word., Love. I loved this book. Why did I love it you might ask. Well it is about all the things the book is about. Marriage of convenience, second chance love, it is about daring to love again, fitting into a community. And learn learning how to trust people again. I am a happy little camper. Thank you to netgalley for letting me read this e arc in exchange for an honest review or opinion
A great read but I didn't really like Simon. Not sure why but he just gave me bad vibes all the way around. Leah is a sweet lady who just wants to be married and have a family which I can understand that. Leah also has a deep love for her brother Simon whom she has raised since he was a boy. They always say that family ties runs deep.no matter who you are or how you were raised. Leah has many wonderful qualities about her. It's why I like her. Jeb is a unique character. I like him because he is a nonsense man and I liked that he cared about Leah in a unique way. I like that Johns has done a marvelous job with the character's feelings and portrayals of wanting to be a part of the community. Unfortunately being a part of a community has its ups and downs. I loved how Johns has portrayed that the Amish are people just like us Englishers. I enjoyed this story so much because Amish fiction is my favorite genre. It was so good that I finished it one day. All her books are wonderful. The cover itself is unique too. I think it's interesting bc usually the Amish don't like their picture taken. I highly recommend this book. It's so good! My thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this delightful book. It was definitely entertaining. I was NOT required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own.

My review :
Will she see in time the treasure she had all along...
This is my first foray in the Amish community world, my only knowledge comes from the movie Witness and a book read some decades ago about a woman estranged or banned from her community. As a non American person I guess they are a curiosity but I hope I would not act like the Englishers in the book, watching them as some zoo’s pets.
As a historical romance reader, I felt like I was still in the XIXth century, a strange feeling as other clues demonstrated it was no historically set story.
I am a bit sad for Leah as she feels like her life has less meaning if she is not someone’s wife and brings no children. Yet she was raised this way as it is the ultimate goal and as time has passed by, she senses she is left out. I was raised to be myself, the better side of me I could be, and what ever the result, the others’ view of me was never influenced by my marital status or lack of it. When Leah still feels the need to demonstrate she is like any other woman, to show her ability to keep a house well run but not who she really is, alas not so far from a regency woman displaying her skills at pianoforte, needlework and watercolors to be singled out. In her very need to be accepted, I had the feeling she had a very truncated view of the place she would gain among her people by being married. So much that she in my point of view quite bullies Jeb to be someone else because it is what she wants and longs for when she is the one to put many conditions to their marriage of convenience. Jeb has his faults but after being burned not only physically but also emotionally then shunned for all the wrong reasons, I do feel for him and understand why he is wary of his kin. He is a wise man, he knows he is no charming self, and asks very few things. Just a bit of warm to keep his soul all cosy instead of his usual loneliness. Why I much sided for him when I felt like Leah’s expectations were rather selfish and more about how she would be seen by outsider’s eyes than about making her marriage work.
A long self-reflective narrative as both main characters must introspect what they expect from their marriage but also what they really hope for which can be very different. 4 stars
I was granted an advance copy by the publisher Kensington, here is my true and unbiased opinion.
Eeep alert! Marriage of Convenience meets a Beauty and the Beast-ish trope to provide an intensely emotional and uplifting contemporary romance in Amish country.
The hope for second chances just leaps off the page as both Leah and Jeb struggle to make peace with their pasts and learn to rely on each other for their present...and that might just lead to love in their future!
My favourite kind of escape read. Lots of romantical tension peppered with angst and tempered with humour. And tenderness! Be still my heart! Jeb is just so.....THUD!!!!
A multi-layered extravaganza of bibliophile delight!
Received an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for a fair review 4.5 stars. A beautiful story with a very lonely wounded hero. Set in an Amish community, “Jeb’s Wife”, by Patricia Johns (Kensington Books/Zebra), is a really striking account of a very private man’s quiet acceptance of loneliness, isolation even. Jeb’s lucidity about himself and how his community sees him is poignant. The lack of hope, his bleak past and the future’s emptiness are constant reminders of the loneliness Jeb just got used to. Jeb is a great character: scarred, lonely, honorable. A very practical man, too. He sees himself as a “romantic disappointment” but, deep down, he’s still one of the last romantics. How lovely that the author managed to combine the almost complete lack of hope with this veiled, deep-rooted belief in love. Jeb’s scars and issues don’t vanish with time and hinder his daily life and work. I found the writing style crisp and articulate, with some very beautiful, touching moments depicting Jeb and Leah’s emotions and points of view. The way Jeb and Leah slowly begin to trust each other is also moving. It was hard for me to understand (or empathize with) some aspects of the Amish mentality/way of living.
Jebediah King thought he would never married. This was in large part due to the scars that marred his appearance. Meanwhile, Jeb finds himself in a difficult situation. He could lose his family farm unless he marries. As things turn out, the woman he chooses is in a difficult situation herself. Her brother has become addicted to gambling and Leah agrees to marry Jeb in order to help settle her brother's debts.
In the Amish community, Leah was like most women, one who wanted children. However, this was not possible for her and the man she thought she would marry could not accept that. Agreeing to a marriage of convenience appears to be Leah's only option. It might be slow at first but Leah and Jeb start to grow fond of one another. In fact, feelings neither ever expected soon grow to love.
Patricia Johns is one of my favorite inspirational authors. Her stories always inspire love, hope and comfort.
Many thanks to Zebra Books and to NetGalley for this ARC to review. This is my honest opinion.
Jeb’s Wife by Patricia Johns is a sweet Amish romance novel. I thought Jeb’s Wife was well-written with developed characters and steady pacing. I liked that Rosmanda and Levi from Thursday’s Bride are included in this story, so we get to catch up with them. Jeb’s Wife can be read as a standalone. Leah Riehl is trying to recover from the loss of Matthew. She loved him and he broke her heart. She cannot believe how quickly Matthew moved on and that he picked an eighteen-year-old as his bride. Leah raised her younger brother, Simon after their parents died when she was sixteen. She feels responsible for his behavior that has caused concern in their community. Leah is shocked when she discovers that Simon has been playing cards and owes an exorbitant amount of money. Jebadiah King is a widower who had a less than ideal first marriage. Jeb lost his wife in a barn fire and became badly scarred while trying to save her. He has become reclusive with only his uncle, Peter for company. Peter has died and put an unexpected clause in his will. A marriage of convenience would solve Leah, Simon, and Jeb’s problems. We soon see that a marriage of convenience is easier said than done. Jeb’s Wife is an emotional story. It touches on some unique situations for an Amish novel which I liked. There are some issues that the feminist in me rebelled at. That a woman’s worth is measured by whether or not she has a husband and children is one of them. I liked Jeb with his no-nonsense outlook and introverted ways (being an introvert myself, I could relate). Leah was the perfect counterpart for Jeb. We see that being part of a community as well as a family can have its ups and downs. We see that whether you are Amish or English, you have the same types of problems. Jeb’s Wife is a special story that I enjoyed reading. I am looking forward to Patricia Johns next Amish novel. Jeb’s Wife is a poignant tale that will linger with you long after you finish the last page.
I’m embarrassed to have this on my good-reads because it a Amish romance and even worse a Amish retelling of beauty and the beast but it was surprisingly good? From trying to lure in men with pies to being to anxious to going to community game nights or strawberry ice cream socials this book was truly a wild “buggy” ride HAHAHA ha
This was not the typical fall in love Amish read. Leah was teaching in a near by community only to come home and discover her younger brother Simon had involved himself in unfavorable behavior that could end his life. Jeb King bringing Simon home gave way to them actually talking since she had primarily communicated with his Uncle Peter. Simon made a proposal as he needed to save his life from his addiction. Jeb and Leah married out of convenience to enable Jeb to have a farm and to remove the huge obligation Simon had. The unexpected twists and turns gave way to longing for love since they both had found rejection before but Leah wanted involvement in the Amish community that Jeb had forsaken after being used and accused in the past.
This is a beautiful story of forgiveness, new beginnings, truth being revealed, trust, faith and romance for not only the hero and heroine but others in the community as they realized their past behavior were erroneous.
Thank you to NetGalley and Zebra publishing for an early copy of this book. I was under no obligation to write and positive review but would be honored to read more books by this author in the future. I’ve read several of them in the past and I’m never disappointed.
I have read and enjoyed other books by this author and this book is no exception. The plot is awesome, love how this story unfolds, and it was so real. Loving and being rejected by someone you love, a catalyst between these two, Leah and Jeb. Then there is Simon, I wanted to shake him, but he does have an addiction, and it may seem simple to me to stay away, for him it wasn't. An odd marriage, yes, but can these to forge a loving relationship, two broken souls, that have somehow found each other. When the final pages were turned, I wanted more, I wanted to stay with these two, and I can picture and see what could happen, but you need to turn the covers of this book yourself. Enjoy!
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Zebra and was not required to give a positive review.
My Bookclub makes me read the most unexpected things. I will not rate this as I’m clearly not Amish and that wouldn’t be very fair but I’ll say that this took me to a dark a whole to try to learn more about Amish culture.
I received a copy of this story from NetGalley for a honest review.
Jeb's Wife by Patricia Johns is a touching story about two people who may have never gotten together but because of certain circumstance they find themselves getting married. I love these kinds of stories because it's always interesting to see what people “think” they want and what “truly” matters. I really like this story not only because I like both Leah and Jeb but because I felt like I was truly “watching' an Amish couple find their way together. I enjoy Amish novels, the different lifestyle and priorities always makes for an interesting read. Leah is trying to save her brother Simon from his gambling debit and Jeb seems to be the answer. Jeb has been alone for so long but a part of him wishes for a soft place to land. A very sweet and enjoyable story, I'm looking forward to checking out this author's other stories.
I had decided that this year I would read books that help me learn, think, and grow. I started off with books that I thought would do that. Then life and work happened. While dealing with the stress associated with all that, I wanted a book as an escape. It had to be sweet, clean, and with a happily-ever-after ending. Jeb’s wife was that book. I have no clue where I got it from, as in whether I was given a free copy in exchange for a review. It seemed perfect for my purpose – this was my escape read...
Jeb's Wife by Patricia Johns is a delightfully heartwarming Amish romance.
Thirty year old Leah Riehl's engagement ended when she told her fiancé she was unable to have children. When he quickly entered into a new relationship, she took an out of town teaching position. Returning for the summer, Leah is dismayed and worried when she discovers her younger brother Simon has amassed a huge gambling debt. Her landlord, Jeb King, proposes an unorthodox solution to secure his inheritance and help Simon. Agreeing to a marriage of convenience, Leah and Jeb are now uneasily navigating a marriage that is a little more complicated than they imagined.
Leah is an outgoing woman who embraces the local community. She is still trying to understand how the man she was planning to marry could love her yet move on to a new relationship so quickly. Realizing her chance for marriage is slipping away, Leah hopes that her new union with Jeb will help her standing in the community. She is hoping friendship will grow between her and her new husband, but she is surprised by how much he is beginning to mean to her. But will she risk her heart again?
Jeb is a reclusive man who eschews the local community. His first marriage and its tragic end hang over his head as everyone continues to view him with suspicion. Jeb is a kind and considerate man but he finds it difficult to participate in local events after he weds Leah. He would like to make her happy but he finds the whispers and stares extremely difficult to deal with. Having been deeply hurt by his former wife, Jeb is afraid of the feelings he is beginning to experience for Leah. When rumors about their marriage begin to spread, what impact will this have on the fragile bond that is beginning to grow between Jeb and Leah?
Jeb and Leah are a charming couple but they have very different expectations from their marriage. Jeb expects his life to remain the same whereas Leah wants to spend time as couple with friends and within the community. Jeb is willing to give her requests a try, but there is truth to his belief that he is not a part of the community. Leah is stubborn when she meets resistance but will this become a deal breaker for the newlyweds?
Jeb's Wife is a heartfelt Amish romance that is rather thought-provoking. Jeb and Leah are a wonderful couple but their life experiences are quite different. Neither are prepared for the unexpected feelings that begin to grow as they get to know each other. Conflict from outside sources pose unexpected friction as they try to find their footing in their new marriage. Patricia Johns brings this engaging romance to a sighworthy conclusion. This marvelous love story is an absolute must read for fans of Amish fiction!
Jeb's Wife by Patricia Johns Patricia Johns’ sensitive storytelling brings depth and heart to this tender story of second chances, as an Amish woman embarks on marriage with the gruff farmer next door . . This is Leah Riehl and Jeb King's story. “I should get back home,” Leah said, standing, too. “Thank you for the chat.” Rosmanda grabbed a cloth from the sink and shot Leah an apologetic smile. “So soon? You’ve hardly eaten a thing.” Leah didn’t have much appetite anyway. Jeb kept to himself but there were rumors enough that passed through the community in waves every time they were reminded of his existence. He was tall, muscular, and badly scarred from a barn fire.Jeb was about forty, and he stood head and shoulders taller than Simon. Jeb adjusted his grip on Simon’s shoulder. “I found him like this, walking by the side of the road on my way home from town,” Jeb replied, but when he looked down at Simon, his gaze lacked proper sympathy. I highly recommend reading. Jeb's Wife by Patricia Johns is a wonderful well written 5 star book. I am looking forward to reading more books by Patricia Johns.
Thank you Netgalley, Zebra and the author, Patricia Johns for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Jeb's Wife was such a lovely read that pulled me in right from the first page. Jeb and Leah live in an Amish community and have a marriage of convenience due to circumstances beyond their control. They are both practical people and believe they will serve each other to the best of their abilities. As time goes by, they begin to see themselves from different lights and wonder if they can stick to the rules they made before they tied the knot. What a deep, thought provoking story about love, loss, commitment, friendship, community and second chances. I learnt from this story that although being a part of a community is a great thing for most people, sometimes it is what gives grief to others and causes self isolation because of stigmatization for being different. I particularly liked Jeb's character with his straight forward and realistic expectations. I saw him as a man with a good head on his shoulders and a typical example of how looks can be deceitful. I also loved Leah with her beautiful soul and kind heart who was able to see beyond what others saw in Jeb and loved him. The parts of the story I didn't quite like was Leah's constant desire to be part of a community that gossiped and meddled too much in everyone's business. I understand that her personality is one that loves to interact with people however, that can not be your ultimate goal in life. I was glad how things ended up eventually because I became so invested in the success of their marriage. Fantastic story and well written novel. I hope to read more books by this author in the future. I highly recommend to lovers of romance, Amish related or Christian fiction. You can also read my reviews on my blog www.rovingbookwormng.com
Jen's Wife is an outstanding book written by Patricia John's. This book is very well written, the characters are very well described and likeable, and the storyline moves at a great pace keeping the readers interest. This story is unique in so many aspects. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. There are so many emotions displayed throughout this story and the author does an excellent job making the reader feel them.
Leah is a young Amish woman who was thrown over by her fiance because of her inability to have children. She has accepted she will probably never marry. When she returns home for the summer a severe situation is presented and the only way out means a marriage of convenience. Jeb is a widower who has become a hermit in his community. Because of his history with his late wife and his severe scarring to his body, most everyone has written him off. When Jeb offers marriage it is the solution to both Leah and Jeb's difficulties. They agree to certain terms to their marriage and that's where everything changes. The secrets that come to light could be this couples downfall and their emotions are at stake. How the community handles this situation is unbelievable.
I was offered a complimentary ebook copy of this book thru Netgalley and the author. I was requested to post an honest review. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others. All opinions are strictly my own.
Congratulations to Patricia Johns on writing such an emotional story filled with love, forgiveness, faith, trust, and of course secrets. I didn't want this story to end.
I was asked by NetGalley to review this book and here are my thoughts. How many of us have deep deep hurts that we refuse to share with anyone and it makes us bitter. Then how many of us also just look at the outer covering of someone and decide what that person is like on appearances only. Patricia Johns has done a wonderful job of having us look within ourselves while dealing with Jeb's problems as he deals with his new wife Leah and still has all the old memories of his late wife. Everyone thought his late wife was so wonderful but she was not at all. Jeb though never let anyone else know taking on all the responsibility himself. Because of that he pulls away from the Amish Community as they in a way shun him. Leah lives in the rented house next door with her brother Simon and is only there during the summer when she has time off from being a school teacher in another community. Her brother Simon has been raised by Leah since her parents died and he has a problem that she just doesn't know how to deal with. Jeb offers a solution but Leah is not sure she can fulfill her promises and worried about her brother. She finally agrees and they work together to make a life they both would like but with all the hurts, lies and memories is this marriage doomed from the start and what about the farm, because they helped Simon they may loose that. Will they be able to come to terms with their past and move on into the future they both dream of. Such a great book and a total recommend to read it.
This is my first book to read by Patricia Johns. I really liked this book once I was able to "get into it". It took a chapter or two but once I started I really enjoyed the book. I would like to have seen a better cover that grabs a reader's attention.
Leah is a single Amish schoolteacher whose parents are both gone. She has a younger brother who has gotten himself into some gambling trouble and needs a quick way out of it before he gets hurt by the people he is indebted to. Leah is very involved with her community and has several friends. Leah was basically jilted by the man she loves because she is not able to have children. Jeb is a single man who has cut himself basically off from the world and his community because of past hurts most of which deal with his arranged marriage to his deceased wife. As a result of a clause in Jeb's friend's will, he stands to inherit a good sum of money and the farm he lives on if he gets married before the deadline. I won't say tell anymore of the storyline but it was an interesting one to say the least...one I don't think I have seen in any of my previous Amish reads.
I would like to thank Zebra and Net Galley for the advance copy of this book. I would definitely be interested in reading more books by this author This is my honest and unbiased opinion of this book.
I've wanted to read an Amish romance novel just to see what the hype is about, but the time I tried, I just couldn't get into it. When I saw that this book was on KU, and I knew the author...and bonus points!! It was a Beauty and the Beast retelling, I HAD to read it. I'm so glad I did! Both Leah and Jeb are scarred and outsiders in their own way. Jeb has the literal scars, outward, ugly, scary. Leah's are inward. She cannot have children and in the Amish world, this is a big deal. Throw in a gambling brother that puts them in a marriage of convenience and you have so many elements I love in a romance novel!
Rejection had a way of eating away at a person's heart.
Leah lives with her brother in her Amish community. Healing a broken heart from a broken engagement, she only has her brother to care for. However, when her brother gets into some financial problems due to gambling, she and her landlord Jeb come to a mutual agreement. Jeb could lose his farm if he does not marry by the end of the year. If he marries, he will keep his working farm and inherit $50,000.00 He knows Leah is a good woman and the hurt that she is facing is as hurtful as his own rejection. Two outcast of sorts that come to marriage as a convenience.
The character development of Leah and Jeb is deep and endearing as they both work thru rejections that they have faced. Jeb would rather be alone and be distant from his community. Leah knows how loving a healthy community can be. The marriage turns from a convenience to something that they both long for. It is picture of sacrifice and what marriage can be when it is in partnership. I was rooting for this couple to find faith in their marriage.
A special thank you to Kensington Books and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
Leah is thirty years old and single, having been dumped by her fiance because she can't bear children. Leah has raised her brother, Simon, since her parents died in an accident. Jeb is Leah's and Simon's landlord and next-door neighbor. He is a widower who was badly burned in the fire that killed his wife.
Simon owes money for gambling debts and Leah cannot come up with that amount of money. The solution that presents itself is to marry Jeb, who needs a wife to keep his farm.
Patricia Johns has take the unfortunate circumstances of her characters' lives and created a "Beauty and the Beast" tale set in the Amish community of Abundance. Her characters are believable and the settings are quaint, adding only to the quality of the book. In writing this book, she has shown that no group of people is without struggles and trials. She has also shown the devastation gossip can bring, as well as how hard the fight is to overcome the gossip.
This is a five-star book, with two thumbs up, and a woman's touch in a bachelor's home.
Kensington/Zebra Publications and NetGalley.com provided the copy I read for this review. The opinions expressed are my own.
Jeb’s Wife by Patricia Johns is a beautiful book that deserves a 5 star rating by me.
First of all, I love the book cover. I used the woman on the cover to imagine along with the author. I love reading Amish books. It is a new and interesting genre to me.
Themes of love, support, family, good food that makes me hungry are well navigated here.
Goodness gracious!,you need to meet a character called Jeb. I could empathise and sympathise with him at the same time.
My heart went out to Leah who has to deal with her gambling addict of a brother. I wanted to yell at Simon to quit gambling and be useful.
This book raised lots of emotions in me. I am glad I could connect to the book in a realistic human level.
I love the happy ending. There is beauty in ashes I must say!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Kensington Books through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Jeb’s Wife by Patricia Johns is a romantic luxury to read. Two people scarred by fate find each other and agree to try to move forward. There is something special about people finding love after believing they are unlovable.
Jebadiah King has been alone for years. He was married to a woman who did not want to be married to him and she made his life miserable. Although she died years ago, he still feels alone and knows with his scars he will be alone forever.
Leah Riehl has always wanted to be married, but she knew that she could never have children. She wants a husband, a house, a future, but has been left because she can not have children. Leah’s brother gambled away and owes loads of money.
Leah and Jeb can help each other and marry. Together they can move forward if they learn to listen to each other and help each other. Jeb’s Wife by Patricia Johns is a romantic book for those who love true romance.
Jeb’s Wife is an Amish romance novel by author Patrica Johns. Jeb’s Wife is a second chance story.
The goal of an Amish girl was to marry and have children. However, Leah couldn’t have children. She was still a spinster at the age of 30. Her brother was a gambler who couldn’t resist the temptation. Jeb had been married to a woman who didn’t love them. Could the three help each other?
WOW, I really liked Jeb’s Wife. I appreciated how Ms. Johns wrote about sensitive issues. I could relate to both Jeb and Leah. Readers will find Jeb’s Wife to be emotional at times.
I give Jeb’s Wife 5*/5*

Jen’s Wife by author Patricia Johns is a poignant Amish romance. I was immediately invested in the characters and their stories. This is the tale of Leah Riehl. Her engagement ended when she told her fiancé she was unable to have children. Broken-hearted she took an out-of-town teaching position. She comes for the summer and learns that her younger brother Simon has a large gambling debt to some dangerous Englishers. It is also the tale of Jeb King. Tragedy has made him keep to himself. He wants nothing to do with his community because it didn’t help or support him.
This is a page turning marriage of convenience Amish novel. The author has a beautiful way of storytelling. She immediately drew me into her book. There were twists and surprises. It tackles redemption, faith, hope, and love. I highly recommend it. It would make a nice book club selection. It gets 5 stars from me. A copy was provided by NetGalley, but these are my honest words.
