Hmm who is the pale girl? At first I thought she might be one of the stepford cuckoos, but she doesn't look like one of them.
I really like this resurrections era, because it makes the writers make bold choices, like wolverine killing the entire X Force here.
They will simply be revived, so you don't lose valuable characters, and at the same time you make more intense stories.

A great start. Ok I will admit I bought this simple cause I saw the claw slashed cover. This book I'd two stories.

Has Wolverine lost it again was it mind control? Why did Wolverine wake up with no memory, and completely physically destroyed, but more painful is the scean he works up to.

An old enemy comes through the Portal to Krakos seeking sanctuary. Wolverine is sent to investigate who or what they are running from.

A great start I am looking forward to see what is to come next.what do you know Wolverine is cool again.

Two very different stories come together to make a interesting mystery/revenge tale. I'm excited to see where Ben here takes Wolverine. nails the character's voice and the art is great. Let's go!

Now this is some grade-A bullshit. This issue is obnoxiously long, basically containing not one but two extra-lengthy issues of comics, and they’re both boring, cliche-ridden garbage. Evil Russians! Vampire-ridden Paris! Religious cults! Krakoan contraband! Logan’s pointless moral struggles about his nature in between slicing people into ham! This endless issue was so unimaginative and so tedious, I have no idea on what grounds Ben Percy gets so much goodwill at Marvel. From everything I’ve read he seems like a pretty bad writer, and I don’t think I want to bother with his stuff again in the future.

The best Marvel character ever is back in his own title!!! He is the best at what he does!

So if you haven’t already heard, this book is broken into 2 stories. The first, Wolverine wakes up in a snowy wilderness with his team apparently dead by his hand. He notices a trail of footprints leading away and follows them. Then of course we get the background as to why Logan and the crew teamed up in the first place. With the addition of some amazing artwork, I am very intrigued to see where that story goes.

The 2nd story had Omega Red show up through a Krakoan portalAll beat up. Magneto sends Logan thru to see why Omega Red came to Krakoa. Looks like the vampires are teaming up. Then by the end we get a look into what Omega Red is really up to. Nice artwork here as well and I’m also on board to see where this goes as well.

My only question is what happened first? These stories the way they are can’t be happening at the same time.

Ew. That book felt like straight-up homework. I can appreciate a Wolverine with a soft side, but if I’m subjected to one more goddamn page of alcohol worship, I’m gonna scream. Seriously, at this point it’s just lazy writing. I can’t stand how they CONSTANTLY have to include alcohol in every X-Man book. Oh, what’s that? Wolverine loves to drink? Wow! I didn’t know that! Oh? Kitty Pride is a tiny lady and she loves her whiskey? Please devote another 12,000 pages telling me how tough she is! Is Marvel being subsidized by Big-Alcohol? (Can you tell it annoys me?) I don’t smoke, but throw goddamn cigarette or even a blunt in the rotation!

Good start. Hoping it gets much better.

Wolvie's back and you won't understand a thing if you haven't read HoX/PoX, so get to that and then come back.

It's a pretty solid story about wolverine not trusting Krakoa, and pretty much not trusting any villains that are in or coming in.. but here comes Omega Red, the reason this one was just ok as a story is pretty much because Omega Red comes through the gate, while Logan is charging at him and we get NO action whatsoever, you've been teasing him and building up with previews and whatnot, even the damn character sees the bad guy and he's going to throw down, but no. Nothing. Not even a punch. All the previews and whatnot and nothing. Omega Red VS Wolverine we don't get that fight. So. Yeah.

And then Logan's off to fight some vampires. Which was ok!

+1 star for the artwork which is simply amazing and loving every single panel of it. Bogdanovic is amazing!

Of course I don't need to talk about Kubert's art at all. It's great as always.

I own the Alex Ross variant of this book.

Wolverine is a character I've always really enjoyed, but I've read a limited number of comics in which he appears. When I got this book, I didn't really know what to expect. Sometimes I'm of the mindset that when characters have been around as long as Wolverine has, and is as well established, I wonder what can possibly be done with their character that'll surprise me. But I found myself really enjoying this book. Basically, the mutants are on Krakoa, Logan finally has some peace and can simply learn to start enjoying his life. However, that never works out to be the case. When an old enemy comes through a portal to their peaceful home, Logan immediately suspects the worst. This book is split into two stories, which I enjoyed. It was kind of like getting two comics for the price of one, and it includes everything from drug cartels to vampires in Paris. I might consider reading on in this series and finding out what happened to Logan when the story started, why he can't remember anything again and what happened to the other mutants he has seemingly killed.

So Marvel continue to add new series to the after House of X universe, which is beginning to be quite huge. Wolverine sure is a fine addition to the lot (I saw that Cable is coming too, so that's one I'm really excited about!!). Very strong start in this big issues, lot to consider in term of story and of course lot off bloody action like always with Logan. I'm in!

It's a bit like X-Force (good) but with Wolverine being the central character (very good, yes please) plus a little bit of detective film noir + horror movie added for good measure (interesting, well-executed).

I enjoyed this solid first issue of a brand new Wolverine series. Thumbs up!

Side note: I'm a little confused by the timeline of this issue and unable to place it within the larger Dawn of X universe. Domino isn't shown with her scars from being experimented on by Xeno? Kate Pryde is (was?) still alive.

Benjamin Percy is winning at Dawn of X. He had the best debut in the first wave with X-Force (2019-) #1: Director’s Cut, and now that wave two is here, it'll be hard to beat this outstanding first issue--which is actually kind of two issues, at 68 pages and two 22 page issues. Both stories are excellent too. The "Pollen" drug trafficking story is intriguing, and the "Catacombs" is pleasantly surprising. And both stories are absolutely brutal, in both art and writing.

Can't wait for more.

The difficulty with Wolverine is well, there's not much else to say about the character. He's been done to death and beyond. Also, it's really hard to improve upon Claremount's original take.

That said, I liked the art in this issue quite a bit. The story, mixed. The first part about the pale lady and the Flower Cartel, who takes out X-Force or rather has Wolverine take out X-Force Field Strike Team -- was really good. The second part about the Vampire Nation was kind of been there done that. Tough female hunter, and well Wolverine, hunting bad guys -- it's been done too many times.
But then so has the first part - where Wolvie is riddled with guilt for killing his friends in a beserker rage.

Reading Wolverine can at times feel like re-reading Beauty and the Beast, except from the Beast's perspective and Beauty is either dead or taken a hike to parts unknown, or she's a hunter that gets killed possibly because of the Beast.

Will state that I like the FBI agent who is investigating the Flower Cartel and trying to save his dying daughter. I hope he survives. He's an interesting and well-drawn character. But this being "Wolverine", I somehow doubt it.

The first issue of the newest Wolverine series is long and, for the most part, interesting. It makes good use of the status quo of Krakoa, introducing the "Flower Cartel" and a mysterious enemy, while also giving us a compelling deuteragonist with Agent Bannister. My one complaint is that there was a bit too much classic Wolverine internal monologue, but it is excusable for a first issue (remember that #1 issues are -also- made for new readers). Art is not bad, but neither extraordinary.

The second story is less compelling. We see some old foes and a new "Logan-girl". I liked the final cliffhanger, though, because it feels less obvious than what I'd expect from the story.

This was on its way to 5 stars - the art is amazing, the tension build up is great, love the stuff with Omega Red. But a couple things held it back. First, not a big fan of who the mastermind villain is revealed to be. It just didn't click for me. The second is basically the one image of Jean Grey where her short skirt and cleavage are prominent. Maybe it's unfair to point this out just for this issue. This is nothing new and certainly not confined to this book but for some reason it really stood out to me here. Her Marvel Girl costume in general is kind of ridiculous. She's not a teenybopper in the 70's anymore and it is in no way practical. Plus, can't she be portrayed as sexy without being this revealing? It seems contradictory to her character. I get if for Emma Frost being shown this way in some of the other X titles. She's arrogant, egotistical and uses her sexuality as a weapon. For Jean Grey, it just seems so unnecessary. Alright, rant over. Still really enjoyed the story overall and am looking forward to where they take it.

I liked it, not as much as I hoped I would, but I will continue reading it. The art was fine, not amazing. It looks like it wants to be Greg Capullo's art, but it goes nowhere near. I know, I know, it's one of the Kuberts. The story is nothing special, either. I wonder if I'm setting myself with too high expectations with comic books lately? I'm not going to spoil it, but Wolvie's a bit off, he doesn't really act like himself, in spite of the cataclysmic events he undergoes, but... I'll hold my suspension of disbelief a little longer, see where the rabbit hole takes me.

"There are six million skeletons buried in the catacombs beneath Paris.

I suggest you correct your aim, unless you want to end up among them."

Lot of stand-out moments here.

Magneto's interaction with Wolverine regarding the similarities between X-Force and the CIA.

Wolverine's statement that resurrection doesn't fix trauma.

Viktor Bogdanovic's art is perfect for a Wolverine title, it took me straight back to Greg Capullo's time on Batman.

Really good art and an interesting story. I'm not completely sold on the recuperative powers of a Wolverine blood transplant, but I suppose it makes a certain kind of sense. The amnesty offered by the X-Men is tested by Omega Red. Will they forgive everyone? Can Wolverine forgive someone who tried to kill him? Ties in with other Hickman/Krakoa issues at the time; recommended to those readers and fans of good super-hero art.

He's Back!!

This gets five stars because it was so good to have Logan back. Percy and Kubert are just crushing it on this book. Omega Red has never been more sinister. Paris! Vampires! Hell yeah!

I've knocked a star off as these were two completely random stories patched together with no real connection.

Both were good but that was the problem, why tell two half stories well as opposed to one larger story even better?

Still great, love Wolvie!

Are we really losing the essence?
If we put together words like Marvel, Logan and adventure, we have something diametrically different than this comic-book.
Another lost chance.

"Catacombs" this story brought me back to the Curse of the Mutants storyline. Wonderful stuff, with a fun exotic french locale.

"The Flower Cartel" this story was mostly confusing, but obviously its meant to be. Hope it follows up with interesting.

Wolverine doing Wolverine things.
This story just fell a little short for me. But The Long Night started slow too so maybe it will pick up?
Vampire Nation vs Krakao. Jubilee is gonna be pissed.

Good story, not epic. Nothing new.

It's OK, to spend your time, yeah for entertainment. I need story to surprise me, something new. But it's a nice try. Thank you for the story.
