It was an amazing and brilliant experience & journey with the author. Amazing imaginary world and it’s characters. City of Kushlam, Mountain Hemil and Koram, the sword - Asao, Rabhu, Lord Vishnu’s pond, dragon and many more. A must read mythological saga. I really enjoyed reading this book, I cannot wait for more. This book is well worth it’s five stars that I have given. I love reading book’s, and this is a book that I may read again soon because I enjoyed reading it so much. Thank you. Author Anita Kirk.
Adhaata Asao’s Liege is an interesting and enjoyable read set against a backdrop of Hinduism, and also other interesting influences. As a result, it creates a fascinating narrative. The story begins with the journey of five merchants, on their way home to ply their trade. I particularly enjoyed some of the vivid descriptions as they travelled through a country richly steeped in history, art, and culture. As the merchants’ journey on, the author steadily, and intriguingly leads the reader into an increasingly mystical world of magical creatures. It is well worth checking out.
Normally I enjoy books with a more medieval European or old Norse setting, but this Eastern inspired work is making me look into broadening my horizons. A great adventure with very well written characters leads you on a journey through a mystical world. Turning the standards of good and bad archetypes around with the portrayal of dwarves and dragons was a real treat. And as the narrative paints the world around you, the suspense keeps the pages turning. If, like me, you've only been looking into quasi-European fantasy stories then I highly recommend checking out Adhaata Asao's Liege to show you a new world of possibilities.
Adhaata Asao' s liege story 5/5 characters 5/5 over all 5/5 I was given a gifted copy of this book by the author and my friend arfroz alam for an honest review

Reading this book succeeded in transporting me to a magical and fantastic world that I did not want to leave. The author's writing is fluid and addictive and allows you to immerse yourself in his fantastic world. I am not disappointed with my purchase and this is not my last book by this author. Just one thing to say: Read it!
Thanks Author. For giving a great mythology story to read. Specially Rabhu the Adhaata - incarnation of Lord Vishnu! A peak in to the ancient times. A historical set of events totally unpredictable. I wouldn't give any spoilers. It's my first experience in this genre and I loved it. Definitely worth buying.
Lord Vishnu, protector of the world, is gathering Avatars to help humanity.
This is my first work by this author and I really enjoyed it. The language is wonderfully descriptive. I really liked the very vivid imagery. In a world with dragons, dwarfs, and avatars, I found parallels to Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings. This fantasy was a wonderful escape!
I love books that draw you in and this one didn't disappoint! The story line is fantastic with creative characters. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more by this author.
This was first time reading from this author & my first time reading a book like this, very interesting kept me wanting more. This was a well written book and the character flow was amazing!!
I have to say that this was a very interesting read. Granted it is not the kind of book I would normally read but I have to say I truly enjoyed it. I have fallen asleep many nights reading this book being caught up in the fantasy of it all. The author did a great job creating these characters. This magical fairy tale is something I would definitely recommend to someone al little younger than me. Though this is not my type of reading I have to say I fairly enjoyed myself becoming intertwine within the minds of the characters and their shared journey. Reading this book helped me to open my mind to reading other books that are different from what I am used to reading. (4 Stars due to a few errors)
Nice worded and a wonderful story, I'm really enjoying the characters and the fantasy world beyond. I was recommended this this book. By a friend and this is a must read ...so hurry up get a Copy and do miss out and a fantansy like no other
The story 'Adhaata Asao's Liege' starts with 5 merchants traveling on their way home from Purshapuam to ply their trade. To reach home, they have to cross the mountains to reach home, and they were far away from home. Rabhu, Gopall, Banku, Peru and their leader Aarnik were the 5 merchants. Rabhu and Gopall are the youngest in the group and are the best friends. They were in the middle of the desert and storm is dancing over their head, so to reach the nearest civilization they need to take a shortcut, a way faster than on the mountain. But it was said that the path was dangerous and cursed, a blood road and whoever crossed it never survived. Even though the path was dangerous, but their desperateness for rest that made others agree with the decision. But as said the 5 did lose someone in the valley, but who?
A civilization Kushlam located between two mountains, a city of Lord Visnu, filled with gold and beautiful houses. A mahant (Monk) broke his 3 years austerity as he sensed the arrival of the destined one from the golden lake. Kushlam is Lord Visnu’s city and from thousands of years, the city had an enemy that only a few remember. Even though the city has forgotten the enemy, but the evil hasn’t and they still remember and are waiting for all these years to take revenge.
The destined one is one of the 5 merchants and when the king, and others were told about his role, no one believes it, not even the destined one himself.
But as said the destined one is the Avatar of Lord Vishnu and he will save the city of Kushlam from the evil army. How will he do that? Who is he?
Also, the book contains dragons, a magical sword, beyond our imagination an epic storyline and divine power.
My Take:
I have read many mystic stories, but I found this the most uncomplicated book ever. Author Afroz Alam has written this book in a simple language and easy-to-understand storyline, that grasped my attention till the end. Who doesn’t loves dragons’? Well, I do and this is a perfect story for them, and again I’m just impressed by the writing style of the author and the storyline. All the characters were well defined and their roles were perfectly portrayed. The ending was also clever and perfectly timed.
Overall, loved this book and if you are a dragon and adventure seeker, you must read this book and enjoy it just as I did. So read now the adventurous book of Adhaata Asao’s Liege by Afroz Alam:
It is a wonderful epic saga. It has many subplots and characters, but all are well designed, and well researched, like a full-grown Banyan tree, that has so many branches. This is the basic line. In a tale of adventure, fantasy, and warfare, a prophecy takes on an ancient enemy, that strives to destroy all of mankind. More than a thousand years ago, a dark enemy had been imprisoned in the caves of Mount Hemil, after the human community of Kushlam had come close to destruction. Trapped in the caverns, the enemy waited for the right time to spring back into the world of the living and built their armies in secret. They were Hajud-Mhajud, the leaders of the dwarves. The tale comes to the present day when the prophecy has come close to its enactment. It has been told that only an incarnation of the Lord Vishnu would have the power to defeat and destroy the dark enemy of old. The incarnation’s business has remained until this day unfinished, and the prophecy draws Rabhu, a man unknown to his destiny, close to Kushlam as he and his four other companions journey under harsh weather on the passes of Mount Hemil. Rabhu falls down the dark deep valley, leaving his merchant companions, and is found unconscious on the edges of a golden pond, which is said to be impervious and protected by a golden shield. Surprise and curiosity take over the priests of Vishnu even as the present-day Mahant wakes up from his self-imposed Samadhi. As Mahant works towards healing Rabhu from the ordeals of his venture into the Golden Pond, he also convinces the King and his royal family of his intent to proclaim Rabhu as the Avatar “Adhaata” even with a distrustful Erbir, the commander-in-chief of Kushlam’s army, trying to prove Mahant false. Now that the Avatar had come, the enemy awakens in the mountains and send in the Ori army to lay siege to Kushlam. Only an incarnation of Lord Vishnu has the power to defeat and destroy the enemy of Kushlam. A farmer from Bamiyan, unaware of what destiny has in store for him, will he accept that he is the prophesized Avatar? Will he save Kushlam from its enemies and free the world from the fear of the trapped monsters who have found a way out of their infallible trap?
A mesmerizing backdrop, well-etched characters and a wonderful well-researched plot - this mythical fantasy is bound to captivate readers. I even imagined the epic playing out on 70 mm! The magical city of Kushlam, the majestic Koram and Hemil mountains, the mystical golden pond together enthral the reader even as the author ushers us into the world of divine Avatars, sagacious priests, valiant ministers and monstrous dwarves, weaving a compelling tale of valour, friendship and patriotism. The protagonist Rabhu emerges as the quintessential hero, who slowly gets a grip on his confidence and emerges as a true warrior even as the plot unfolds. I would recommend this book to all the readers of this genre.
I cannot tell you the experience of reading this book. This is my favorite novel of all times. I believe that Afroz's talent lies in character, relationship and world building and that's what makes books go from GOOD to GREAT to AWESOME. I really adore the characters in this book and Rabhu will always have a place in my heart. It is perfect mixture of Hebrew, Muslim (Gog Magog as Hajud Mhajud) and Hindu Mythology (Adhaata the Avatar of Lord Vishnu). I 100% recommend picking up this book. I'm really glad I have read this book. Due to lockdown in this pandemic situation I had to choose kindle option but I will definitely add paperback in my library very soon and I will touch the magic of Afroz Alam through his book.
Beautiful story, well told***** I was looking a new author so I picked this after reading the reviews and rating on Amazon, and was not disappointed. Wonderful storylines threaded together. The characters develop beautifully, and though this could be read as a stand alone book or a series. It was great to read a new young and full of talent author. I loved this and would recommend it to anyone who loves to read a well written book.
This book transports you into a truly magical fantasy world full of believable characters who grip your imagination. I could not stop reading. A well-written novella with intriguing characters. A startlingly individual read.A compelling and absorbing narrative with an intense and gripping character-driven honest plot that will grip you from the very first page. A well-conceived short read with many layers making the source material stronger and the core story more engaging.
So being a lover of romance genre books, I rarely choose another genre to read. But today after reading this book, I realized how beautiful other genres book could be.
Adhaata Asao's Liege, the title and cover and the reviews intrigued me to pick this book and let me tell you I loved the book. I loved the story and the way it is written. Everything about the book and story is great and can't be afforded to miss.
There is a reason for the title, who is Adhaata, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu or a farmer? What is Asao? Well, many things require answers and I don't want to give the spoilers. Read the book and know the story and I bet you, you will love it.
I liked the characters though the names were difficult to pronounce, Rabhu, Ebir, Hajud Mhajud and many more. Mahant played an important role too.
Easy to read, Author's way of description, page-turner is what makes this book special. Recommended for those who are interested in short fictional mythology.
It has everything, struggle, determination, love, humour, sorrow, pain, friendship, patriotism, action, emotion, magic, superpower, Dwarves, Dragon, Swords, mountains, beautiful and unbelievable world, amazingly strong and perfect characters, mind-blowing narration with awesome story. Whether you are a reader of fantasy or not, it is perfect for you.
Beautiful transformation of a farmer into an Avatar of Lord Vishnu.
This book was recommended by one of my friends. In the very beginning I was sceptical about the capabilities of a debut young author and about the knowledge & justification of Lord Vishnu's Avatar because of authors religious background. Thank God I was wrong. It is really a joy to read. The world building is absolutely prodigious, and the characters development is amazing! Do yourself the favor of picking up this!
This book is truly compelling, it tells a fantastic story and the solemn struggle between good and evil. The mystery and the hidden forces, the stories of a forgotten past, the hopes of a ransom, the prophecies ... All this crosses a line of suspense in this novel! Very beautifull! I highly recommend reading!
The story flows well and pulls you into the world that's visually described, you feel like you're in the story, with the characters. Tight plot and fast paced, it keeps turning the page. Best book I've read in a while and I would definitely recommend it. Gonna get this author's other books
Nice mythological fiction. I liked the well-explored plot and interesting characterization. The story provides a positive message that the creator will take new avatar to save the world from any evil forces. This book is definitely worth taking it as a movie. Though the book requires improvement in editing and formatting, the story is highly engaging and I loved the author’s narration. Looking forward to read the second part.
This is the story of fulfilling a prophecy. A common merchant realizes his destiny and once he accepts his fate he’s able to restore the kingdom. It’s a well-paced story that holds the reader’s attention and easy to read. I highly recommend this book for those that like a well-told fantasy about friendship, complete with a magical sword and a flying dragon.
It was my first mythological fiction read and hooked me since beginning. A mythological fantasy that who took me for a roller coaster ride in the world of dragons and various creatures with some suspense which kept me flipping the pages. Would highly recommend this book and look forward to read more from you....
I prefer fantasy books like this. It is a good length at under 200 pages. I'm not a big fan 800 page fantasy novels. Though a couple of them I do enjoy because they are very well written. I love how the writer interweaved culture of India with fantasy. I will have to read this book over again. It is one of those books that deserve a second reading. It is mostly clean with one small swear word. You really want Rabhu to save the day. He is likeable and engaging.
A great read which offers a ride into the Eastern Asian mythological world. The group of 5 merchants Rabhu, Gopall, Banku, Peru, and Aarnik went through a dangerous path, and by accident, Rabhu disappeared into the Kingdom of Kushlam. It was a very gripping book with lots of adventure, magical creatures, Ori army, and more. It sucked me in from start to finish and I'd recommend it to everyone.
talk about living in that world we love to escape too ! this book takes u on a wild rollercoaster ride of pure fantasy !! the story is gripping and pulls u in after the 1st few pages !! well wrote by author !! hopefully many more in a series to come!!
From the opening scene I was pulled in. As the scenes unfolded the pull of wanting to know if Kushlam will be saved becomes overwhelming. I read until my curiosity was fulfilled and I wasn't disappointed.Take a leap through the majestic pages and get your fill.
