Would you like the long or the short version of my bio?

The short? You got it.

I write steamy gay romance books and I love it. I also love reading books. Books are everything.

How was that?

A little more detail? Gotcha.

I started writing my first stories when I was a teen…on a freaking typewriter. I still have these, and they’re adorably romantic. And bad, haha. Fear of failing kept me from following my dream to become a romance author, so you can imagine how proud and ecstatic I am that I finally overcame my fears and self doubt and did it. I adore my genre because I love writing and reading about flawed, strong men who are just a tad broken..but find their happy ever after anyway.

My favorite books to read are pretty much all MM/gay romances as long as it has a happy end. Kink is a plus… Aside from that, I also read a lot of nonfiction and not just books on writing. Popular psychology is a favorite topic of mine and so are self help and sociology.

Hobbies? Ain’t nobody got time for that. Just kidding. I love traveling, spending time near the ocean, and hiking. But I love books more.

I really liked this whole series. I bought the audio version because it added up to 25 hrs altogether, so it lasted me quite a while. This is definitely a series one wouldn't want to read out of order. The love stories were complicated and many. Some parts surprised me but the surprises didn't detract from the story. The only real complaint I had was that in the middle between book four and book five, there were some deleted scenes that I really think would have been better placed at the end of the whole series.

Great set

If you want to read this series, this is the easiest way to do it. Not only do you all the books all in one place, but you get to see some deleted scenes which shows what the author was thinking while she was writing.

Okay, I read the whole thing this weekend and you really have to review it as one entity because everything is so intertwined except one couple.

It starts with Noah and Josh who are best friends with benefits, both damaged soldiers (one with an amputation that pains him, one with PTSD) who use sex to self-medicate. Then Indy shows up and saves Josh during a store robbery and is injured and brought home with Noah and Josh (Noah is a PA at a hospital). Indy is on the run from the mob where he was sold to a drug dealer by his mother at 14, then was attacked and burned with acid by them and has been on the run knowing they want to kill him.

Before long they are all kind of intertwined, when the cop (a former Marine who was a prisoner of the Taliban) shows up chasing after Josh. It doesn't take long until he moves in and he and Josh start a BDSM relationship but they are sort of mixed up with Noah and Indy as well.

Then Josh's brother shows up. They grew up in a very religious family and Josh was kicked out and he held a grudge against his younger brother who spouted scripture to him. Now turns out brother is gay and has been kicked out and lost his job. Josh holds a grudge and total virgin (never even kissed anyone) Aaron moves in with Jiujitsu master Blake (Indy is a brown belt) and Blake offers to teach him the way of the gay. Turns out Aaron is a total bottom and puppy.

Soon the bad guys are after Indy again and he goes into protective custody of the FBI and is on some farm when they come after him and he rescues FBI agent Miles who has a medical issue (which I question but ...) Meanwhile Charlie, a drag queen friend of Blake and best friend to Brad (Blake's brother), gets beat up by his cop boyfriend and he and Brad move in with Indy et al. However in the meantime, someone (never sure how it came about) offered Brad the unpaid position of sucking off Miles in the hospital 4+ times a day while the guy is semi-comatose, because Brad is a total slut who uses it to hide his damage. (Are you getting the hint that they are all a hot mess using sex to self-medicate?) After some drama the three of them hook-up and it seems Brad also regresses sometimes and there are family issues.

The last book is Josh and Connor... and Noah and Indy are getting married, the bad guys pop up again, more drama with Connor's best friend who died under torture is found, Seems that Indy and Josh are also in love (so it's sort of a foursome) and Brad and Blake's other brother shows up and there is a Dom who runs a security company guarding them. Meanwhile, the foursome and the threesome all live together and basically walk around naked all the time and just have sex anywhere and everywhere in front of anyone. The end, they lived HEA after dealing with the bad guys.

So you have to use a bit of suspension of belief here that sex in various forms including hardcore BSDM will solve your problems and lesson your emotional damage. Considering Miles works (after quitting the FBI) as a psychologist and Noah is studying psychology, none of them appear to be in therapy for their issues. Probably Indy, Noah and Charlie are the only mostly emotionally health of the group despite their issues.

However, if you can kind of let it go and float into fantasy land, I actually did care about the characters although I found the Blake and Aaron story didn't fit. They were just sort of on the periphery of the others. I enjoyed that polyamory was looked at favorably. That it wasn't necessarily a case of all being in love with each other (at the end Noah and Connor do not have sex while Indy and Josh do and Brad offers to have sex with everyone). So it was good to see that there was no criticism of that but the whole 24/7 sex fest was a bit of some kind of fantasy and I confess sometimes I flipped through some of the scenes.

Hotness personified , glasses steamed up constantly !
Besides the kink and more kink and the all round sexiness of all the guys these are wonderful characters who have a past which we read about ..
They all made sacrifices for each other that bought them together much more.
A fantastic boxed set full of love , this will definitely be a re-read.
I have met Nora Phoenix in person she is one of the most open loving humans I have met..

This series surprised me and kept me guessing all the time. That's what I get for reading it without looking up reviews or even reading descriptions. I saw an offer in the book box and took a chance.

I liked it. I could go into detail book by book about which plots worked best and which elements I found unnecessary, but right now I don't feel like doing reviews. So, in general, I'll say that I wasn't expecting the poly, sexually overt relationship direction of the ending. It was a long road they went down. I didn't see it coming, but it made a lot of sense. I may not personally understand how someone could be in a relationship like that, but I understood it in the context of the book.

The plot with Indy and the whole Mafia, FBI, witness protection, murder and so on, I think it got out of hand at certain points and I didn't love it, but I was sold on the ending.

Sometimes the sex scenes got a bit too much and I skimmed them. That said, I found the developing polyandry and various kinks fascinating and in the meantime, there was a decent plot! The characters involved in the main events were well-drawn. In short, an entertaining series.

I DNF at 9% after skimming another few chapters. I seem to be in the minority but I’m baffled as to what others see in this. It’s frankly awful imo; badly written, repetitive and so unrealistic I can’t even begin to lose myself in the story.

The first book of the series was my least favorite. I didn't like how Josh was being treated by Noah. It wasn't cheating but it still felt like it. Indy's backstory and conflicts made the book interesting though. I wasn't looking for a light thriller erotica romance series but that's what I ended up getting. The kink is barely in this book though. Indy and Noah are pretty vanilla compared to all of the other couples. I'm surprised I stuck it out to the second book.

No Limits, 3 stars
Josh is simply the best! I loved watching him grow and find himself with Connor. Connor was also super adorable. I found it interesting that his issue was being too big. Gay romance usually has leads with huge assets and it's rarely seen as a bad thing. I liked that Connor had to learn to accept and appreciate his size. Lucky for him, Josh likes a bit of pain with his sex. This is where the series gets kinky. Josh is a sub and is unknowingly looking for a Dom. Connor is a Dom that doesn't really know it yet. They were super cute and I loved reading about Josh's HEA.

No Fear, 3 stars
Aaron and Blake are a great couple but are so far removed from the plot of Indy's past that this book felt out of place. Aaron is a puppy but the puppy play is very light. The story is more about Aaron coming to terms with his sexuality and accepting himself. It's a good book but is out of place with the series as a whole.

No Shame, 4 stars
This was my favorite book. Miles became my new favorite Dom. He's so good with Brad and Charlie. This trio has a Daddy/boy complex between Miles and Brad. Charlie isn't into either but still fits in perfectly into the relationship. I think this is where the side conflict is mostly resolved but I can't remember. I do know that I liked how badass Indy was with his fighting. Josh really came into his own too with everyone but showing Noah how strong and capable he was.

No Angel, 3 stars
You can skip this last book but it's a sweet ending to the series. Noah and Connor start a relationship with each other and with that the four corners of the couple are complete since Josh and Indy declared their love for each other in the last book. There's also an intro to a new character that has a spin-off book. I think I'm happy with how the series ended and will leave that book alone for now.

yes! definitely yes :)

If you love lots of kinky steam, all the feels, and chosen family, this book is for you! Indy starts out all alone and ends up with a big kinky family. I highly recommend this series. Please note that each book builds new relationships but the overall HEAs don't come until the last book in the series. That said, it's totally worth it since you don't have to wait for the next book to drop:D

***spoilers***

I loved the deleted scenes, but the finished product of Noah and Connor's scene together exceeded my expectations since I read the deleted scene before the finished story... Love that Josh and Indy keep their dynamic even though they're "technically" not together in the traditional sense by the end.

Nora, I loved your collab in the ballsy boys, but you REALLY did it with this one. Thank you for sharing!

I have mixed feelings about this storyline. It's not bad but it's confusing, rushed, too many characters that the author was not able to develop equally. At some parts she wasted too much time with internal monologues, retelling some aspects of the story which was not important. I got just tired of reading it and just wished It to end. And to be really honest I don't get why Josh and Noah couldn't be the real deal. They had all It takes for a good relationship to work. I was totally rooting for them but whatever. As I said It is not a bad storyline, it is really hot, it deals with certain aspects of the human sexuality that blew my mind and got me super curious. Because of that it deserves a shot.

This audiobook package is soooo worth the time and money. It’s ridiculously long at 47+ hours, and well worth the 1 audible credit. Yes, it’s a serious time investment, and I enjoyed every moment of it. There are fascinating characters, kinky sex, unconventional relationships and lots of love.

No Filter, No Shame book 1, Nov/17, Indy, Josh and Noah (r May 18/20) What a great group of characters.

No Limits, No Shame book 2, Nov/17, Josh and Connor (r May 19/20) I really like the dynamic between Connor and Josh. The description of Josh’s sub-space, and pure delight he feels when he submits. The sheer fulfillment. Makes me happy to read about. I think they are my favorite characters in this series.

No Fear, No Shame book 3, Dec/17, Aaron and Blake (jujitsu teacher) (r May 20/20) I am enjoying the hell out of this series. I admired Blake’s patience with Aaron. The angst of the background stories and between estranged brothers Aaron and Josh. And the plot twists for Indy & Noah, and Josh & Connor stories are fascinating.

No Shame, No Shame book 4, Jan/18, Charlie (Blake’s friend, abuse survivor), Miles (FBI agent protecting Indy) and Brad (Blake’s brother) (r May 21/20) This was a fascinating group of men - Brad is so needy and so hurt from his childhood, Charlie is a tiny twink with a spine of steel and then Miles, who is deliciously dominant. I loved watching these guys find their way. And the other characters Josh & Connor, Indy & Noah

No Angel, No Shame book 5, Dec/18, Indy/Noah, Josh/Connor, etc. (r May 22/20) The boys all get their HEA. It’s sweet and kinky and lovely.

I am so glad I got the complete set and listened to the whole thing in a row. Each story continues to build on the previous one. So much sex of course but more so all the love they have for each other.
No Filters - Since I meet these characters in Healing Hands I wanted to know more so I was so excited to find this box set. I love the beautiful way Indy opens up and settled in with Noah and Josh. The developing love. Lots of deep emotions in this story.
No Limits - Conner adds another dimension to the dynamic. It was great to see Joshua get his own special person in his life. I love that these men continue to be strong. There are still there for each other as they continue to move forward.
No Fears - This book is so full of strong emotions. While there is a focus on the new couple in Blake and Aaron there is also the ongoing danger for Indy and the whole family. This story was a nail biter until the end.
No Shame - So much more as we begin to see the building relationship between Miles, Brad, and Charlie. I love the caring as they figure out the fit.
No Angel - This turned out not to be the light holiday wrap up. There is new drama and new danger. There is also more loving and building your family your way.

Breathtaking and smexy

This series had it all.
It played with my feels and my perceptions, it also lit an interest in reading about different kinds of kinks that I never knew I had the curiosity to investigate about(I had to Google a few things here and there to understand; it was an interesting side quest).

The author played with my opinion towards a couple of characters. I hated poor Aaron while Blake found him annoying, and later on I was in full "awww so adorable" mode with Blake and their dynamic.

All the characters are heartwarming. I also love the character developing that was shown most of the time about the reason behind some of the things thae did or felt.

The end of the book says that that something was brewing for 2019. Well we're starting 2020 now, so I'll have to ask the author what came of that tease written in the acknowledgement.

If you want to read about people overcoming the odds, lots of sexy and kinky moments, and overwhelming and heart-melting love, this is your series.

Wow, 47 hours for one credit

This series had everything you need to submerse yourself into a fictional world.

We have great couples, a huge amount of s*x and kink, and did I say there was some s*x there as well? Well, there was. :-)

Ok, this isn't real life, and that's what we all love about it, something to take us away from life and the news, etc. But 47 hours, yes, it was worth it.

I need more of this in my life, so I am heading off to read more books by Nora to immerse myself in quickly.

Kenneth Obi did an incredible job narrating this book, which he always did, which helped bring the characters to life and a whole new immersive experience.

This collection is a great value - you get all 5 books in the series, plus two supplements (3.5 & 4.5) as well as a couple of unpublished chapters.  Almost 50 hours of "reading" for one audible credit.  I had some doubts about the plot and the characters from previous reviews, but I found it very compelling and worthwhile.  The first book is maybe a bit more of a challenge for the initial chapters, but it levels out midway and then the remainder will grab your attention and keep it.  The plot centers on 9 MC's who come together over time and form a non-traditional family.  All of the guys are in the "mainstream" category and are very believable and appealing.  There is plenty of sex including several flavors of kink.  Lots of plot twists and turns.  Loved the narration by Kenneth Obi.  This was my first Nora Phoenix read and I will be back for more!

Did I just marathoned 1500 pages in just a few days? Yes I did.
I loved all those flawed battered characters (kinky f*ckers unite!) who do the best they can to make their partners happy. For a reader like me who loves dialogue & negotiation this is comfort food for the soul.
Misunderstandings happened but were nipped in the bud. It's all about empowering each other & living unapologetically. You're adult, you give explicit consent & the magic happens. I liked that the characters grew: uncomfortable or ashamed of something, they learn to tolerate & even appreciate different love languages.
This books were apparently written in a short period of time & I liked the bonuses at the end, deleted scenes or clues about the thought process. There's a reason this writer's stories stand the test of time.

Well - the names certainly set up each of the stories really well!! Lots of great MC's, unique and sexy stories and kink, kink, kink! Kept me riveted all weekend!! The author is very clear - these are not stand-alone books and I definitely agree and highly recommend them all.

2nd time I've read this author, just finished Firm Hand, and now I'm going out to look for more - she has me hooked!

Note, there is a tease at the end of the set that says there could be more of these guys (after No Angel) in 2019 so I have to set a reminder to keep looking for that - I hope so as I thoroughly enjoyed reading all their stories.

More!

I want more of these guys! Why is it over?? I really was confused a little in the very beginning because when it was recommended to me I was told it was a MMM book and it didn’t feel like one. As the series went on I got it. All the pieces fell together. I am sad to see it end. I was hoping we’d get to see all their different fantasies come true in the end after they played the little game Indy made up. Maybe Nora Phoenix will bring the guys back in the future. One can only hope.

All the feels; I didn't want this series end

I don't normally write a review but these books are amazing, I loved every single one. I could easily imagine being there with them like a fly on the wall, whichever couple/group you were reading about.
The storyline had me gripped from the very first line and I really liked the extra bonus stories at the end of the book. All the characters are so believable that you can't help but feel what they do as they find their way to becoming a family.
I love Nora Phoenix books and this is another series I'll read many more times.

Reading and buying these for the second time was well worth it.

If I could give this Series a Six, I would. Having read the first four stories awhile ago which I enjoyed reading. Buying the set as a Series of Five on special I thought why not read them again in order plus gain the fifth story. Was I in for a surprise. These stories are hot, steamy sex on a stick but with amazing storyline with each character. The scene with the Marine coming back to the U.S. made me cry it was so beautifully written. Nora you are an Amazing Author and I really love your stories. Thank you

Wow. Just wow.

Each year while I enjoy Dirty Daddies Anthology I select an author new to me and read more of their work. This year I was fascinated with Ms Phoenix' contribution to 2021 Dirty Daddies so I selected this box set of NO Shame. Fantastic! LOVED! Her ability to spin so many interwoven, complex story lines with relatable, kinky characters; panty melting HOT SEX held my rapped attention through 5 books and definitely left me wanting more. Well done! DO NOT HESITATE ;)

Omg, yes PLEASE! I can't say enough about this series. The heat level is off the charts spicy, the characters are amazing and I found myself so invested in their HEA's. I love, love, LOVE how this all comes together throughout the series. The end is just....aaaa-mazing!

This series holds the top place on my "comfort listen" shelf for all the reasons mentioned above but also in no small part due to the amazing voice of Mr. Obi. The listening world los something truly wonderful when we lost this man.

I cannot recommend this enough!!!

I have to say I love Nora Phoenix, she can write some great M/M smut. She shows much diversity in the different kinks/preferences. The connections are well developed and thought out.

The only thing that took me out of the story was having Josh be the one to take out Duncan and his crew. While he is a developed and great sharp shooter, Nora has also highlighted how he could not deal with any violence even in movies. So I am not sure how well he would have actually survived doing that, even with josh's deep love of Indy.

But overall I loved this whole series

Queer romance with spice and multiple action-packed side plots. I strongly prefer to read Nora Phoenix’s work as part of a complete compilation due to her habit of ending on disjointed cliffhangers. I think she does best when writing smut and action but the interstitial moments often are repetitive, packed with unnecessary dialogue, and fall short of their intended emotional impact. I thought this collection took about two books to fully hit its stride. If I had read these books separately, I may not have made it past No Filter. Definitely enjoyed this collection by the end.

Great Series

The whole series is great, definitely a must read, (or reread like for me). All the struggles these men go through and still manage to stay together as a strong family. The individual relationships and the group dynamic are just amazing, the way the story flows perfectly between all the different characters is seamless. All the added bonus content was great, I loved the explanations of why the scenes were taken out.

Gripping series

Wow! What a journey for all characters involved. I read all five books (on Kindle) in the series in about 4 days. I just couldn't put them down. You don't realise how individual incidents in ones life can all get intertwined and end up as one. The series is full of sadness, fear, emotion, drama, and most of all of, deep love, in an enviable relationship like no other. Beautiful, highly recommended read.

Must read

It's kinky, sexy, funny, sad and everything in between. Be cautious of the triggers.
From book 1 where we meet Indy, Noah, Josh & Connor to Book 5 with all 9 men and a very happy kinky HEA, this series is phenomenal. You will laugh, cry and fall in love with every single one of these broken, bruised, battered & abused beautiful men who heal each other with unconditional love & a whole lotta sexy Kink!

Amazing storyline and interpersonal relationships

I loved these stories. The relationships between characters and their development is outstanding. The introduction of various kinks is well done and exploring some of the outlying play types makes for a great read. And the sex scenes...HOT.

OMG!!!!!! I loved this series. Well written with kick ass characters. This series just really grabbed me from the start and just kept me hooked all the way through. I would love if she writes a spin off with the private security guys the hire in the last book. Wander and his guys totally could have their own kinky series.
