When people think Monster Party, they tend to visualize a party with the big names like Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Wolf-Man just hanging around drinking, laughing, and scaring. While that does sound like a good time, the lesser known names are often shoved off to the side as if they're a bunch of basic bitches. But why is that? We at Deadman's Tome though that the big names have partied long enough, it's time for the lesser known monsters like the Yeti, Mothsquio, and Leorilla to have some fun, and you're invited. limited time cover

I have a story in this collection, but this is a review for the rest of the book. I love a good horror comedy, and there are a few in Monster Party. Mothsquito by Pedro Iniguez is a classic b-movie style romp about a movie crew shooting a monster flick in the desert only to be attacked by a real monster. Iniguez nails the b-movie atmosphere of a low budget set and the characters and plot are perfectly tailored for it. The Ant People by Carlton Herzog is another humorous and gory entry concerning a man battling an advanced civilization of ant creatures that have emerged from his toilet. Engrossing and original piece which has a Gulliver's Travels on acid vibe to it! There are several other noteworthy stories here including The Tub, Take One, Leave Some, The Stalker, etc. Needless to say I am pleased to have my short story among such talented writers.
What I liked most about Monster Part was the originality and variety of the stories. And I must admit, that cover is definitely poster worthy. I liked THE THING IN THE SHED. It's a movie as well. And I liked the ANT PEOPLE. I'll never look at a toilet the same again. Rock on Monsters, rock on! Carlton Herzog
