Time has run out for Cross Jonasson
He’s had three years to find a way to save his clan and his mate
But the secret he’s been keeping has been revealed
And he may not even be able to save any of them from certain death

Three years ago, an accident changed Sabrina’s Strohen’s life. Though she can’t remember much about what happened, ever since then, the face of a man has haunted her dreams and her paintings. But when that same man suddenly shows up in her apartment and tells her that she’s in danger and must come with him, she doesn’t know what to think. But, her heart and her instinct tell her he could be the key to remembering what happened that fateful day.

Time has run out for warlock and wolf shifter hybrid Cross Jonasson. He’d had two years to find a way to save his clan and his True Mate. But when the secret he’s been keeping is revealed, he realizes he may not even be able to save any of them from certain death. Now on the run, he comes back to keep Sabrina safe when his enemies threaten her. When her memories of him start returning, he knows that it may be impossible to keep the awful truth from her--that she is the reason the world will end, which is why he can never claim her as his True Mate.

With the mages determined to take Sabrina and the power she’s been hiding, Cross must make a choice: will he forever keep the terrible secret from her or can he trust fate to save the world and each other?

Awesome!

I have to invest in a thesaurus because I'm starting to hate that word...but I can't think of a better one. This book was... exciting...there was lots of action...and a few unexpected twists.

I never could have guessed what the mages were up to!

I did figure out who Ransom is...at least in relation to the NY Clan.

I can't wait to see how these things all play out in the next book!

I was given and ARC for an honest review. I have been reading this series since the very beginning and so glad Alicia continued with the next generation. Alicia just continues to amaze me with her imagination. You never know where the next book will go. This book was such a great read and look forward to the next in the series.

Lacking True Mate romance.
I struggled to read this book as I just couldn't believe Cross's behaviour.
True Mates don’t seem to be everything anymore.
I will be in the minority like I was with the previous book but I have a totally different viewpoint on this book to other reviews.
I struggled with the beginning of this book as I dislike books that jump back and forth timeline wise and this one did it for most of the book.
I read this through and was left feeling very negative and disappointed.
The plot is twisty, convoluted and for me, I just feel totally overdone and this series is miring itself into a depressive rut.
The mages keep attacking, the good guys keep fighting back. There is no respite for normal life, happiness or living, just the constant negative mage tension. There is no lightness, no love, no happiness or joy in meeting the one made just for you. Absolutely no romance, paranormal or otherwise.
The deceit and stupidity displayed by Cross annoyed me. He is part of one hell of a strong family heritage group and he doesn’t ask or seek help for TWO years.
His surprisingly obsessive and stalkerish behaviour with Sabrina worried me. Yes, things are explained away but his omission of what was going on probably aided the mages in their plans.
Just didn’t believe how terribly stupid Cross acted nearly all the way through. His complicity with her father, who is financing the mages through his stupidity, making decisions on Sabrina’s behalf without asking her. I really ended up not liking him.
That is apparently okay and forgivable as she is his true mate and it is done to protect her
I think we’ve all got a very good idea who Isabelle’s mate and Evans father is, and if my suspicions prove true, I will be finishing with this series as it will once again prove that True Mates are not the special be all and end all they once were.
We get a very quick wrap up, a strong hint of who Isabelle’s mate is and more sex than romance.
At the end I just felt tired and depressed.
Wonder if we will get Silke and the Lone Wolf MC’s stories, with some actual romance?
This is my honest review of this book.

You know how there's that one character introduced in the beginning of a series? That one character you just can't wait to read their story? Well, Cross is that character and this is his story. I can't say I enjoyed waiting, but it really was worth it. This book seriously rocked! Cross' behavior has been off for a while. We know he's keeping secrets. He has a very big decision to make and the outcome will affect them all. When Clan, friends and family find out the reason behind it all, will it be enough to earn forgiveness? Be warned, you will not be able to put it down. Just clear your schedule and find a quiet spot for yourself. This was such an intense read. The action starts from the very start. I can only explain it as riding that brand new roller coaster for the first time. A surprise with every turn of the page. We get the answers we've been waiting for, but with it comes new questions. There is suspense, drama, danger and of course romance. Ms. Montgomery has once again given us something wonderful. Her ability, at 8th in the series, to still be able to provide a True Mate pair with an original story...….it really is remarkable. I didn't think anything would be quite as good as the TM series that started it all. I was wrong. I'm going to stop here so I don't spoil it for you. This is a must read! I'm sure what comes next will be just as amazing. I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy and this is my honest opinion.

I really enjoyed this story! It was a fun read and I was very happy to finally get Cross's story. We have seen quite a bit of him throughout the True Mates Generations series and have gotten teases of what is going on with him but he has stayed a pretty big mystery until now. Cross has had to deal with a lot in the 2 years. He has been investigating the mages and learning about the artifacts while also trying to stay away and keep his true mate safe in order to keep his brother's vision from coming true. Sabrina has been dealing with a whole in her memory for almost 2 years. She can't leave the house anymore because she has extreme anxiety about leaving the house and being around strangers since her accident. Everything comes to a head quickly as it has been discovered that Cross knows where the last artifact is, the ring. He starts scrambling as he is trying to figure out what to do with things moving very quickly. I really enjoyed this story. It held my attention from beginning to end. There are a lot of twists in this one as we learn more about these artifacts and what they can do and what the mages might possibly be planning with them. I am really excited for the next book in the series as well and where this series is going!

Like any fan of this series, I have been waiting for Cross’ story for a long time. We have watched him behave strangely towards his friends and family, keep secrets and look miserable. The twist at the end of the last book made us anticipate the rollercoaster which we were about to go on and what a ride it has been.
Cross has found her , his true mate- Sabrina. When we first meet her, she is struggling to leave the house and doesn’t talk to anyone. There is a reason for this and it’s a great twist. Sabrina feels a connection to Cross even though she doesn’t remember him. Cross tries to stay away but the pull is too strong. He is trying to keep her safe from everyone especially as he was tasked with finding the ring and Sabrina wears it. As to be expected, the mages are in this story and trying to get Sabrina and when we find out why, it’s a shock. I don’t want to spoil the story but you wont be able to put it down. The addition of all of the other characters is important and makes for this to be such a great story. Their love is so strong and you will do anything for love rightx

Everyone wants the ring of Magus Aurelius. It’s a powerful artifact that can be used by the mages to defeat and enslave the lycans. It is owned by Sabrina who doesn’t know that it also holds the power of life and death. Cross has been keeping her a secret from his clan. Not only has he been protecting her from afar for 3 years, she is also his true mate. When danger comes calling Cross has no option but to risk everything, whisking Sabrina away to safety and revealing who he really is. They soon realise it doesn’t matter how far they run they can’t escape their destiny. With the mages closing in on Sabrina, will Cross be able to save her and his clan or is she destined to bring about the destruction of everything? I didn’t know whether to be hopeful or fearful for Cross during his story. Not only is it dramatic, powerful and suspenseful, its also a breathtaking, heart stopping magical read and not one to be missed.

99% good

Was a bit too much and not enough of certain parts. Did like the premise (will not spoil readers by spilling plot).
But I was not a fan of the big fight. Would have been better if she ended all of them with ring. Then revived them after they all had silver bracelets, etc. or not at all.
What I will never understand is why the did not destroy the knife first. Then nothing maters. Can get others and destroy, negating the powers. (By way the 300 is not logical, since the knife was used by many more, the necklace used by mages to kill others after reaching original 300. Same with ring.

But the vast majority of the couples story was very good. One thing I was curious about is the painting his best friend wanted. Maybe I missed it, but would like to know what it was.

Finally we know who Cross is mated with! And it's of course a unique and unusual situation. I like how even at book 8 of a series, every couple has such a different meeting and love story. But each progresses the fight against the mages. The build up at this point is INSANE, and I really don't recommend starting here because there is so much before this.

Cross drove me crazy. He just kept doing what he thought was best, instead of turning to others, opening up, and kept everything so secret. He even makes decisions without consulting his mate. But it all works out, and it's partly in THANKS to her. Of course now I just CAN'T WAIT until the next book. The epic conclusion of all these stories is so close, I can feel it. And I'm so ready for more.

💋💋

I swear EVERY fan of this brilliant series has been waiting for Cross’ story, I’m telling you now It’s the best.

Cross is a secretive man , he’s been flying under the radar for years , difficult to pin down and alway elusive in his ways.
Wait till you find out what he’s been doing, who with, and why.
This one really sets the cat amongst the pigeons.
His True Mate is sweet and wonderful, has a heart of gold and someone that Cross truly deserves. He’s having a tough time.

If you love this series, don’t miss this . If your a newbie you’ll still enjoy it , but better to go back and start at book one , you’ll better understand the plot.

Five very well deserved stars for a wonderfully satisfying and addictive book.

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

Good story

This is Cross and Sabrina's story.

Cross accidentally meets his mate when he catches her scent and follows her into a coffee shop years ago. His brother, Gunnar, had a vision of her years ago and after Cross confirms it, he'll do anything to save his mate; even make sure that she doesn't remember him.

The mages have been blackmailing Jonathan Strohen since they brought his infant daughter back to life after both she and his wife died in childbirth. Sabrina has the last artifact that Cross has been searching for, but for her own protection, he's lies to his clan and family about it's whereabouts.

Now that her memories have come back, she knows in order to save the Lycan race, she has to face her fate. Whether or not Cross likes it or not.

So I was really interested to see what was going to happen with Cross. Sabrina and Cross are a sweet couple. I think that there connection and history is interesting.

I do have a few things that brought this book down for me a bit but these are just personal opinions. I think the jumping back and forth between past and present so much pulled me from the story a bit more that I would have liked. I wish there was a bit more passion fueled moments between the two. I also feel a bit let down by the ending a bit. I guess to me something was missing.

I think that this story does a good job of advancing the series! I think that the characters are interesting. I loved that we got introduced to a bunch of new characters which I hope that we will see going forward! I can't wait!

Finally we find out what Cross has been hiding !

These books just continue to get better and better! We FINALLY learn why Cross broke his BFF's heart thus sending her into the arms of the Dragon king. My oh my is this story filled with secrets and twists and turns. Worth every single moment!! We also get a possible idea at who is the father of Isabelle's baby *wink*. If you've not ready any of the previous books in this series yet, I HIGHLY recommend doing so before reading this gem. Otherwise you'll be completely lost at the backstory and all the relationships. Trust me it's in so worth reading them all!

Amazing! I don’t know how she does it but each story is always so unique but brings back characters from the previous books as we meet new ones. The book is filled with action as the lycans try to stop the mages from taking over the world. Sabrina is a great character. She is willing to lose everything to save others. Then there is Cross. He is a Lycan warlock hybrid with the amazing ability to travel anywhere he has been before. And he takes full advantage of it all the time. This is a True Mates story so of course there is plenty of romance and some heat. I so can’t wait to see what she writes in the next book to this addictive series.

Lots of hopping about

I am not a huge fan of lots of remembering or jumping from current to past events, then adding in the warlock popping from place to place... And his brother seeing future and past stuff as well as his dad who also pops from place to place... It is an interesting story but I was kinda thinking that freak wolf in the MC would be a great story... And Isobel has her unfinished story not to mention there are a few others... It was interesting how the ring bonded to her but it could been fun if the necklace and dagger had bonded to her making her more powerful than the mages.

Finally we get Cross story it was so worth the wait. If you've been keeping up with the series, you already know that Cross was keeping secrets. Well we finally get to uncovered all the mystery surrounding Cross. Let me tell you it's a marvellous exhilarating tale filled with plenty of intrigue, suspense, action, and of course steamy romance to keep you hook from beginning to end. Can't wait to see what else is in store for this series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.

It was great to see Cross's story since so much of it has been hinted at in previous books. Although I did spend much of the book wanting to smack Cross in the back the head for thinking he could do it all himself.
Touch of Magic feels like the point in the story where you are about to go crashing over Niagra Falls in nothing but a wooden barrel. You spend so much of the book waiting for the axe to fall only to realize that there is a bigger axe out there. Can't wait for the next book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.

Sabrina and Cross. So happy to finally have Cross’ story, and what a story. The whole thing is full of mysteries and you will gasp a few times. The first chapter sees cross on the run from his family and tbh you have no idea what is happening and then over the next couple chapters his relationship with Sabrina is slowly revealed and you start to understand. But you do t get to know the whole truth about what happened 3 years ago straight away and I kind of loved that. The whole time I’m guessing and I wasn’t disappointed.

Throughout this series Cross has been a mystery. He's also been that character you want to knock some sense into. You know the one....the one that thinks they can do it all....the one that won't ask for help. Well, this story will explain a lot. It will also raise some new questions. All I can really say about this one is "Wow!". I will also say that this story should NOT be read as a standalone...read this series in order.

I read an advanced copy of this book

I have loved every single book in this new series, but I have wanted to read Cross's story from the start. The story starts the same way the previous ended, with a shock I thought was unfixable. I was wrong. This is a true story of endurance because I don't think there was ever anyone who has suffered so much for love. And to be in that place where he was, it was horrible. Tugging at my heartstrings is just what I wanted but didn't expect it in such a way in this story.

I loved it all. And I will love it again.

Count on Cross

Each of the books in this series is better than the last! Learning about Cross fills in so many pieces of the puzzle, while keeping up with favorite characters from the earlier books. The suspense keeps you guessing about who can truly be trusted. Ms. Montgomery has once again crafted a story that draws in the reader so that one has to know the outcome. Just so sad that there is only one more story in this series. Eagerly awaiting the next book.

Another great book in the True Mates Generations series. The fight against the mages to prevent world domination continues... This is the story of Cross, powerful warlock/lycan hybrid, one of my favourite members of the second generation. Very good book, with some twists and turns that go beyond Cross’ storyline. Loved it!

FINALLY!!! We get Cross's story. Most of our questions are answered about him. Sabrina (his mate) was so understanding. Oh not me I'd have to make him grovel just a little. It feel I wasn't worthy or something.

But oh my god there are a few easter eggs in this story and I can not wait for more books.

Cross is caught in the middle of his obligations. He has to protect his True Mate, Sabrina and that means he has to keep secrets from his Alpha and family.

The story is full of action. The pace is fast. It will keep the reader glued to the story. This is another great entry to this series. I can wait to read Isabelle and Ransom's story. It's one I've been curious about for a while.
