Definitely in Trouble

Adie and Julian are definitely in trouble. Victor Hesse is looking into the disappearance of Domnall and he seems to be a zealot convinced that Domnall was saving demon kind from witches and Hunters. He seems rather determined to take Adie and Julian down and definitely sees Adie as the weak link. Tobias is going to be their representative, but first, they have to get rid of that last part of Domnall Julian has been holding onto. We're they seen? It sure appears to be that a certain mortifier was watching them.

The Summon is the second book in L.L. Frost’s Succubus Trials story arc of her Succubus Harem series. This book picks up where things left off with Adie being summoned to a hearing that she could have avoided if she actually took the time to read. But it seems that things are only going to get sticky from here as she learns that she’s got some big problems to try and get out of.
The Summon is not one of my favorite additions to the series. It has some good moments with Tac especially and Philip even showing some range, but the storyline is really slow with this installment. Despite Adie being expressly told by the guys to NOT speak at her summons, she goes off and starts running her mouth. At this point…what can you expect from her?
While this installment is slower and not as exciting or gripping as the previous it does have some good suspenseful moments sprinkled throughout. You get a hint of history/backstory on how the demons have been impacted themselves by humans and their inability to keep quiet about things themselves. I also like that we get a bit more of Julian and Philip in this book. Adie’s immaturity makes an appearance again, in more ways than one. I need her to really get some sense and stop with the childish behavior of targeting people out of petty jealousy/insecurity.
I’m rating this book 4 out of 5 stars. It’s not the best of the series. It has its good moments, but the pace is slower than I’d like. I am curious to see where the author is taking things with Adie and her power development so we’ll see where this goes. I’m hopeful to get some backstory soon on Victor Hesse. He’s both creepy and intriguing.

Even dead Domnall is causing trouble. Victor Hesse of the demon clerk's office is investigating Domnall's disappearance and he's centered his focus on Adie and Julian.

Yes, this is a good storyline, yes the suspense is high but what makes these episodes so entertaining to me are the extras. The repeat imp encounter in the clerk's office, Phillip's eulogy, and Tak (always) It's the random ridiculousness that catches me by surprise causing the unexpected giggle, sometimes snort that makes this such an enjoyable serial. I did take issue with Kellen. He is on my list, not the very understandable termination list for his triplet interest. No. Then that last sentence... leaves me anxious for what happens next.

This was an interesting installment of this series... while not filled with the fighting and near death that the last books, it is no less stressful. Adie, and her demons, are dealing with the aftermath of the last few books and the enemies that were made. Currently being questioned about the disappearance of Domnall the group is attempting to ensure that they are not going to get caught in the crossfire of what occurred. while i enjoyed the fighting over the last few books it was a different and enjoyable change to place the characters in a situation where fighting wont really help - they have to use their wit to solve this problem.

Oh So Good!

Please ma'am I want some more! I love this series. However, I stumbled upon this series when the third or fourth bundle came out so that ment I got to read installments 1 - 22, which was great and then I waited for the next bundle containing 23-31. I then made the mistake of reading installments 32 and 33, not waiting for the next bundle. I'm know craving my next Succubus fix!!! I can't wait for Inquest to release on 04/05/2020, I've already preordered!!!! So Good !!

Wow, now an investigation against her...

I’m actually in awe of the author’s ability to come up with all these off the wall situations that Adie seems to find herself in.
Damn that Domnall! Still being a pain in the butt even after he’s dead. But the teamwork between all of the demons and Adie & Julian is impressive. I forgot how cute & cheeky Philip is! Love his character!
Looks like Hesse is going to be a royal pain! This investigation is gearing up to be pretty interesting.

💘

I absolutely love this series!! And if y'all don't like the how small the 📚 are the author has combined some together to make longer one's! Adie your amazing and I cannot wait to see 👀 what you get up to next! And her men are 😋, I love how they are being more affectionate and protective of her! Tac and her imps are just adorable! Can't wait for the babies to come and since she's basically been remade from the lay lines it kinda makes sense that she can have babies of her own with Emil, Kellen ,and Tobias....🤔😉

Adie, that was not what I expected! Demon trial, saucy librarian, devoted demons of destruction, and baked goods. Why is this serial so amazing?
