In this manga adaptation of the popular light novel series, the world's strongest sage will stop at nothing to get stronger...not even reincarnation!
Once the world's most powerful sage, reborn Matthias has gained the optimal crest for magical combat many thousands of years in the future. But with magical knowledge at an all-time low in this new era, no one recognizes Matthias's crest for what it is, and it will be an uphill battle for the twelve-year-old sage to prove his greatness to everyone! Fortunately, he's well on his way, having enrolled at the Second Royal Academy as a scholarship student and begun his new school life with the lovely Lurie and Alma in tow!
This definitely improved in the second volume as Matty gets down to the business of figuring out what went wrong while he was reincarnating. Also, it has my favorite new dumb shounen line: "Maybe Devilis is the demon...?" Subtle this isn't, but it doesn't really need to be.
I'm really intrigued by the world that is being developed here. There are some interesting developments that I wasn't quite expecting. I'm also loving these two girls, they are just so eager to learn and I love their spirit.
Pretty Nice Cover, Nothing Over The Top Just The Three Main Characters Which Is Enough The Start Of Matthias's School Life Begins & There Are Alot Of Eyes On Him, Especially From The Facility, Just Showing How Powerful He Is For A 12 Year Old Pretty Awesome Battle Scene In This Volume Too, I'd Really Love To See It Animated One Day! The Plot Develops Quite Quickly Through This Volume Showing Reasons Why The Magic Level Is How It Is While Seeing Growth With The Charcaters Around Matthias. The Reasons Behind The Decline Isnt Surprising Or Unique But Yet Still Really Intresting & Has Me Hooked For The Next Volume!
This book has me hooked! The world-building is intriguing, filled with unexpected and exciting developments that keep me turning the pages. But what truly shines are the two main female characters. Their eagerness to learn and their energetic spirit are infectious, making them a delight to follow.
The first book was the oddest story, but now we are in book two I love it. A rpg players dream in a manga. But of course it finally read the credits and I see square enix. Of course.
I'm still really enjoying this, the premise is strong and the story itself is intriguing, I'm interested to see where the demon stuff goes! The art is also a high point, it has a clear style.
Matty has proven to be one of, if not the, strongest student at the Second Academy. The teachers ask him to lead a class on wordless magic casting, and his condition is being able to train with the two sisters, Lurie and Alma, in the dungeon below the school. He teaches them more wordless magic, but also fighting and weapon styles that compliment their crests. The headmaster enters the three into a battle with First Academy, something they haven't won in years, but with Matty's special skills and the sisters' extra training, they trounce the First Academy. But, Matty also discovers one of the Magical Chosen Ones, special extra strong sages, is actually a demon in disguise. He theorizes that the reason magic and knowledge has been derailed in this time period, is from demons messing with human society. Now, he has a few months to get everything ready for a potential demon onslaught.
