Ashlyn: I need protection, but I don't do love. All I want to do is provide for my little girl. We're hiding from my violent ex and jobs are hard to find. When the landlord tosses us out, I figure all is lost. Until my sexy neighbor comes to my rescue. He's a hot lawyer and former soldier capable of keeping us safe. He wants a fake relationship in return, and that's fine with me. I won't get close to him for real, because I know he's a womanizer. He thinks our fake family could become real. But I need to protect my heart while he protects my life.
Bad Neighbor is a standalone fake fiancé steamy romance. Jamie Knight promises to always bring you a happy ever after filled with plenty of heat. And never any cheating or cliffhangers!
This series has been a hit and miss for me. This was a decent read but it too felt like so much more could have come from the story and the characters.
Ashlyn is a down and out single mum trying to keep a low profile from her abusive ex, her money dwindled to nothing and about to be evicted she’s in despair, thinking that she had till the end of the month she’s distraught when she comes home after yet another failed job interview to find her belongings being tossed in the street. But nothing in life is for free so she agrees to help her neighbour Chase convince his conniving ex he’s off the market. But can Ashlyn keep her feelings at bay especially when her daughter seems to adore him, can she keep her heart in tact or has she already lost it and is Chase really over his ex?

Don’t get me wrong it’s a good read but with potential for an amazing read. Safe read I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book 3.5🌟
Chase and Ashlyn will heat up you Kindle in this fake fiance steamy romance. It's a standalone with no cheating and an HEA. They both need each other. She needs protection from a violent ex and he needs protection from his gold digger ex who just happens to be his sister's best friend. Oh and have I told you that he's inheriting billions? Their chemistry is off the charts and they are so good together. It's sweet to watch Chase with Ashlyn's young daughter Katie. A cute story with no cliffhanger and an HEA. My only complaint is that the formatting of the book has some major problems. There are wide gaps and spaces. This needs to be corrected and I'm surprised that the book was released with these problems in place. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review.
2 1/2-stars. Title Misleading. Bad Neighbor(Story briefly describes his commanding appearance and his savvy lawyer skills who knows the heroine as her apartment is across the hall), NOT THE ENEMIES TO LOVERS that the title suggests. Fake relationship yes. Quite a superficial story, it was a short read but I have read other authors who seem to know how to pull off a short novel with full novel impact. The opening scene of a struggling young single mom was very well written and rang true sadly. The sex omg, another fiction novel penis which is 10 or more inches and the hero stating 'you don't have to' as the heroine prepares to unhinge her jaw because of his girth (haha). Oh yeah, I could see a man saying that. All said and done, I actually liked the story. I was able to listen without having to concentrate while the words flowed freely entertaining me.
ONE EXCITING ADVENTURE!!! Wipe out! Jamie delivers one incredibly thrilling storyline with 100% on point realism, skillfully laying out this tangled plot with all the action, intrigue, misgivings and mounting suspense, hooking you from the start and reeling you in for the duration. Rushing through the trials and tribulations, witnessing the delectable twists and surprising turns, tempting our characters through stunning lengths of which they never envisioned. Producing vividly detailed descriptions intertwining each scenario with all the exuberance and gusto bringing them to life before your eyes. Trudging through the inexplicable inconsistencies and disruptive events brings its own boatload of misgivings, blasting this little fella into a tizzy with a life altering, block busting culmination. The characters blend and flow smoothly transforming into genuinely relatable personalities. The scenes are abundantly detailed and descriptive to give you a full understanding of the impressive backdrop that meld this baby together brilliantly. Remarkable job Jamie, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
For starters, this needs a better editor as there were numerous typos and errors.
Chase is an attorney who just inherited money from his grandfather but is concerned his gold digging ex/sister's best friend is going to try to reconcile. Rather than say he's not interested, he takes a suggestion from a friend to be in a fake relationship.
Chase happens upon his neighbor, Ashlyn, as she's getting evicted and decides they can help each other out. He offers to let Ashlyn and her toddler live with them. Even though Ashlyn is hiding from an abusive ex, she has no problem moving in with a man she doesn't know and then agrees to be his fake fiancée.
Chase's sister and ex arrive and are stunned to discover he's engaged. His ex then says its gross that he's with someone who's had a kid because her vagina is probably all stretched out. I stopped reading at that point.
The ex seems awful. Why can't Chase just tell her no? Why does an attorney who wears Armani and drives a Jaguar live in the same building as a diner waitress who can't afford rent? The story doesn't make sense.
Sometimes when you least expect it, yet most need it, you meet an honorable man. Such is the case for Ashlyn, whose bad day turned in to a bad week, and is on the verge of becoming a bad month when Chase steps up and instead of offering charity proposes they help one another.
This story does a great job of showing, of showing a mother willing to work, hard, to care and provide for her child, of showing a man who has been damaged by war, and life, and is just surviving, until he meets someone who may not trust men, but holds in her arms a child who challenges all around her to be their best selves simply by being young and seemingly defenseless.
The Right Place At The Right Time: By Korkoi - This book was so captivating that I couldn’t put it down. Fate brought Chase and Ashlyn together, at a time when they needed each other. However, it appears their destiny was always that they were meant to be together. This is a story that I enjoyed immensely and will recommend everyone reads it.
I received a copy of this ARC and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Now that is a story I really enjoyed. Seemed short but it sure packs a punch. Ashlyn needs help Bad. She is being evicted and has a toddler to bring up. Thankfully neighbour Chase is at hand and offers to let her stay with him. Now the fun begins. Add to the mix a crazy ex, a caring little sister, a cute toddler Katie and one sexy mama called Ashlyn. Chase is so meant for Ashlyn in so many ways. All in all a good story .
The story was so unrealistic I don’t know how to start the review. If Ashlyn had no money and worked at a diner how could she afford to leave next door to Chase? Who is a rich lawyer? They fall in love within like 2 chapters. Chase’s ex girlfriend tried to get money from both Chase and his sister. That was it. Ashley’s abusive ex husband never showed seeking revenge. It had no real storyline. IMO
Chase lived across the hall from Ashlyn and her daughter Katie. He came home one night as Ashlyn was being evicted from her apartment and he offered her to stay at his apartment. Then he asked her to be his fake fiance to help get an ex off his back. Katie really took to Chase right away and he took to her. After a few run-ins with his ex things seem to turn around and they find a happy ending.
I absolutely love this read. It was really good. I loved Chase and Ashlyn together, they had so much chemistry I really enjoyed it. Katie was so adorable.
I was given a copy of this book but this is a true and honest review
This rating is based on two things.1- book too short. 2-this book was not proof read at all. I would not recommend this book to anyone. And save yourself money.
I loved all the characters, how all the good and bad in the world was incorporated into their personas . This was a story that got me thinking about all sorts of things.
I do not know but something was missing. Hmmm Love? i think... i just could not feel it in the pages and i need to feel that flow! The plot was okayish, just the love left me feeling deflated.
