Kitten, you’re in way over your head—

SLY—

As treasurer of the Kings of Carnage MC, I collect protection payments from local businesses in our small Georgia town, and one business is behind on payments. When I show up at Mooney’s Pub to collect, I find her—the gorgeous new manager with hair the color of pale fire and a body made for sin. I’m instantly attracted, and when she turns that sassy Irish mouth on me, I’m damn near obsessed. She’s not what I expected, to say the least, but when it comes to club business, I’ll deal with her same as any man. She will bend to my will, one way or another.
Because one thing is law in our town; anyone who wants to do business here is either owned by the club, partners with the club or protected by the club—for a price. In this town, no one rides for free.

Michaela—

At twenty-two, the last place I expect to find myself is back home running my father’s bar, Mooney’s Pub. But when he dies suddenly and suspiciously, I’m determined to find out why more than the accounting books don’t add up. I swear I’ll find his killer.
Seems my father has secrets he’s been hiding; the mortgage is in arrears and now the bank is breathing down my neck, ready to foreclose. All that’s holding my family together is my sheer determination and stubborn Irish grit.
Then he walks in—a badass biker, demanding payments my father owes the club. I’m beginning to realize where all the money’s been going.
Oh hell no!
Determined to hang on to my family’s business, I wonder just how far I’ll go when I’m beyond desperate.

Sly by Nicole James was the sixth and final book in the Kings of Carnage MC series. The series was written by six separate authors and although are all part of the MC storyline, the books can be read in order or as stand-alones.

Sly was the money man, the Treasurer, of the MC. One of his responsibilities was to collect from the local businesses in exchange for security and protection. He was also the last single officer in the MC, which to his way of thinking suited him well.

Michaela Mooney came back to her small hometown after her father died. She needed to keep the her dad’s Irish Pub afloat, which had been in her family for over 100 years. Protection? Why would she need it? In her mind, it was a waste of money, which she didn’t have, and the only protection she would likely need would be from the bikers themselves.

James provided a sexy and fun storyline. Michaela was fiery, feisty and independent and the perfect match for Sly. And although Sly was massive and fierce, he was a softy at heart for those in his fold. James also included a suspenseful vibe, which added dimension to the storyline.

All in all, it was another quick but well written addition to the series. Although Sly was the conclusion for the series, the authors have announced a spin off series, The Kings of Carnage MC Prospects. Bring it on!

Best Book EVER!!

Sly is the sixth book and the last installment in the Kings of Carnage MC series. The first five consist of contributions from other amazingly talented MC authors: Chaos by Hilary Storm; Bash by Sapphire Knight; Jinx by Chelsea Cameron; North by M.N. Forgy; and Bouncer by Kim Jones.

It’s no secret that Nicole James is and has always been my favorite author. It’s impossible not to get sucked into the world of her characters when she all but pulls out a barstool in one of her clubhouses, smacks the back of a leather tattoo chair, or hits the throttle of a big ol’ Harley and invites her readers to hop on, relax, and enjoy the ride. And what a ride it is.

Simply put, SLY is one of the BEST books I have ever read. Nicole knocked this one out of the ballpark ten times over. The main reason? Michaela and Sly.

Michaela is one of the most likable female characters that I’ve read in such a long time. She’s young and has reluctantly been handed Mooney’s Pub, a longtime fixture in the small town of Uprising, Georgia, and expected to take over her family’s legacy. Michaela is smart enough to know she’s in over her head but even smarter in her determination and drive—along with some Irish stubbornness and sass—to make a successful go of it. She’s down to earth, doesn’t let anyone walk all over her, and has a huge, beautiful heart.

Sly is just one-hundred percent of hot alpha biker badassness. He’s loyal, extremely smart, bossy as f#%k, never says something he doesn’t mean, and I gotta say, full of stamina! How could Michaela not fall for him, right? The things that come out of this man’s mouth are not mushy, and because of that, he’s actually funny as hell. Nicole made him a man’s man, and he couldn’t be more mouthwateringly perfect! The banter that ping pongs back and forth between Sly and his club brothers is entertaining yet shows the depth of their loyalty and respect for one another.

Let me just say this—there is so much more to this storyline that captivates and engages. Nicole adds in well-thought-out original subplots and flashbacks that, of course, create more wonderful side characters, and it all blends into one big, worldbuilding story. Each chapter flows effortlessly into the next, and I couldn’t put it down.

I’m enthusiastically giving Sly ten shiny chrome stars. A MUST READ from the one-and-only Nicole James, the queen of all things MC.

Sly is the sixth and last book in the Kings Of Carnage MC series. Nicole James is a new author to me, so I’m hoping something new will have me loving this one. We shall see!

Sly is the Treasurer of the Kings Of Carnage MC. Meaning he’s the one in charge of going around and collecting annual dues. He handles the money and makes damn sure every business pays their protection fees. Sly is swoony as hell but if you threaten those he cares for, he can turn on you in a heartbeat.

Michaela inherited the family bar ‘Mooney’s’ when her father committed suicide. Though she doesn’t quite believe her father’s death was a suicide. Nevertheless, the bar is now in her possession and is her given legacy. Having a bar in the family for over a hundred years puts a lot of pressure on her shoulders, especially since everthing that could go wrong is now, in fact, going wrong. And as if it couldn’t get any worse, she finds her father left her with an unkept bar and a pile of debt, including a hefty sum he owes to the local MC for business protection.

I freaking loved Michaela’s attitude throughout this novel! I loved how feisty and real she was. This woman was made for the MC lifestyle and she’s got the backbone to prove it. I loved her stubbornness and her strong need for independence. She’s a woman who wears her pride on her sleeve. She’s not afraid to speak her mind… but that’s all external. Beneath the surface Michaela is scared to death of failing her family. This bar is the only source of income her family has and little by little she’s watching it cave in all around her. Her pride is telling her not to ask for help, but the situation is… she needs help.

I loved the premise of this novel, and I love how in depth everything was. Nicole James definitely took me on a wild ride with this one. I loved the back and forth banter between Sly and Michaela which added to the already ignited chemistry. It’s no surprise I have a new favorite in the Kings Of Carnage MC world!!! My new favorite king is SLY!!! This man is everything and so much more! I loved it!!

When Michaela finds out her dad has killed himself, she heads back home to take care of her Ma and siblings. She never wanted to run Mooney's Pub, it had always been a sore point with her relationship with her Dad. What she didn't expect is to find out that her Dad had been paying the Kings of Carnage MC protection money.

Sly is in charge of the club's finances he sees that Mooney's Pub has reopened and he needs to meet with the new manager to set everything in order as it was. What he doesn't plan on is the sassy Michaela who makes it clear she doesn't plan to pay. However Sly can't seem to stay away and he begins to wonder if this woman could be his future. That being said though danger is lurking and Michaela is the target.

Entertaining. I liked the chemistry between Sly and Michaela was sizzling. Michaela has the weight of the world on her shoulders, I thought the way her character went through everything was spot on. Terrific story.

4.5 Sly Stars🌟

Sly is the final book in the original MC KOC series and I’m certainly looking forward to reading the next Prospect series and hopefully getting a glimpse into these characters and how their lives changed after they found their old ladies😁

Michaela comes back to Uprising when her mother calls her to say that her dad has passed away😢 But when it becomes clear that she’s going to have to stay and help her family run their bar Mooney’s, she runs into more trouble and is struggling to keep her head afloat…and her heart and body from running off with Sly😉

A good story that I did really enjoy❣️

♥️🌼Sly Was A Perfect Ending To This Series🌼♥️
Marcus “Sly” Gates is Treasurer for Kings of Carnage MC, and he is typical of these bikers in that he’s smart and tough and alpha and has no problems getting women..But Sly spent 5 years in prison for protecting his mother, and he’s not looking to be tied down again...♥️🌼
Michaela Mooney left Uprising for the big lights of Atlanta, but when her father dies, she is forced to go back home to try and save her family’s pub, and she’s in over her head...Money problems is a tame word for what’s going on with Michaela...When Sly comes into the pub to speak business with the owner’s son, “Michael,” he finds Michaela...and even he sees he’s never gonna be the same...♥️🌼
I loved Sly and Michaela...I loved their chemistry...I loved their vulnerability with each other...and I loved that Sabrina didn’t cause “jealous woman” problems for Michaela...How refreshing!! Good book...But it’s a MC...and Nicole James...what did you expect??♥️🌼

Sly by Nicole James is part of an interesting series. Each book is written by a different author and covers the same Motorcycle Club: Kings of Carnage. The books are written as stand alones but are written about different members of the MC as romantic thriller books. Sly is the sixth book in the series.

Michaela has had to come back home to run her family’s pub after her father’s death. Things are hard and the pub seems to have serious money issues including a big balloon payment due to the bank. Michaela also needs to give the Kings of Carnage their monthly take for protection. Sly is the treasurer of the club and picks up the money monthly, but immediately is drawn to Michaela. There are a lot of problems with the bar and Michaela is reticent about sharing her problems, but she knows a couple of things: her father did not commit suicide and she needs more money fast.

Sly by Nicole James is an interesting read. I was unsure about reading only the last book in the series, but I like reading Nicole James, so I thought I would give it a try. I did enjoy the book. I liked the characters of Sly and Michaela Mooney. As always in books like these, there are conflicts and problems but it is always interesting how they are solved.

Sly by Nicole James is a good read.

Wow! OMG! Best book ever!!!! Loved every word of it! Read it straight through without stopping! It reaches out, grabs you, and refuses to let you go to the very last word! Handsome, hot bikers, beautiful heartbroken woman, bikers, BFFS, family, a bar, and a dog who needs more! Hot sex, loyalty, a murder, a mystery, greed, and an all consuming love! Yelp, has everything, you become so involved solving the mystery you find yourself right in the middle of the story with them!

This didn't work for me

I love Nicole James and have been reading her for years but Sly missed the mark for me. Sly and Michaela are enemies one minute then lovers then enemies again then married.
It all happened to quickly. I had a hard time with their chemistry and relationship

.

I have really enjoyed this series I got to read some authors I hadn’t before and some old favourites. Nicole is definitely the latter.
Sly is a hero in leather, he saved Michaela and her Da from a fire when she was just 10 and he saved his mum’s life when his stepfather was beating her to a pulp… unfortunately he killed him and served time manslaughter.
Michaela returns home after 3/4 years away after her father takes his own life. She hadn’t spoken to him since he stole her college fund.
It’s understandable she was angry and her by his actions and now it’s down to her to run the family bar that’s been in her family since the 1930’s. This is not future she envisioned for herself.
Financially the bar is in trouble big trouble so this poor woman is stuck running a bar she doesn’t want to, living back in the town she grew up in , grieving and regretting the lost time with her dad and to top it off the local MC wants their ‘security’ payment and the last months too.
The attraction is there from the start but would you want anything to do with the man adding to the financial woes you find yourself in?
Sly is like a dog with a bone though, he pops up when least expected like all the KOC men once they have a woman in their sights they are determined to make them theirs.

What A Great Way To End A Series!

Sly and Micheala's chemistry set the pages of this book on fire! I LOVED every moment of it and I hated seeing it come to an end. This book not only had romance, but it had a touch of a mystery element to it, too. Which I found very enjoyable.

Michaela had a sass to her that I enjoyed reading so much! Plus, Sly's alpha tendencies ran a bit to the extremes, but I loved it, it worked for him very well.

Michaela came back home after her father died to run the family business which is in trouble of going under and she has a limited time to pay the bank off before they for close and take it.

At the same time Sly enters the picture, he's the Treasurer for the Kings of Carnage MC and as such he collects protection money from each of the businesses in town and this is how he meets Michaela. To say she isn't too happy about this meeting is an understatement, but at the same time the sparks that fly unnerved her.

This meeting starts a whirlwind romance, that had not only hot as hell sex scenes, but scenes with touching conversations that blew me away.

I HIGHLY recommend this book you do NOT want to miss it!! Nicole James is a new author to me, but I cannot wait to read more of her books!

SLY: Kings of Carnage MC. I bought this book/series because of Nicole James

SLY came up on my Kindle and I immediately purchased it because Nicole James is an author I follow and have read all of her series. I am so glad that I bought SLY because it introduced me to the five other authors in this six book series. I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed this series. Please start with CHAOS by Hilary Storm, the first book in the series.

This is Sly (Marcus Gates) and Michaela Mooney's story. Michaela is destined to be the head of the family and the Queen of Mooney's Pub. Why/how did her father, Cullen Mooney die? Murder or Suicide? So many unanswered questions, so much debt. The last thing Michaela is looking for is a relationship, but Sly is it for her. Who is the bad guy? Love this story sooo hard! Thank you Nicole James for sharing your alpha biker and his kickass lady with us.

A great way to end a series but it appears it's not the end of the King's Of Carnage. There's a spin off series I'm going to start next.

Sly is the last of the main club members who is still single. At times he would love to have an old lady to go home to but he is enjoying the single life too much. He is used to women throwing themselves at him.

Michaela is called home because her dad has committed suicide and ends up taking over the family bar to support her mom and brothers and sisters. She is their only hope being the oldest. When a sexy biker shows up for the protection money that her dad is behind on she refuses to pay it. There's chemistry between them and when he tries to help her out she thinks she has finally figured out the "why" about her Dad's death but is she getting the whole picture or is something else going on?

This was a page turner with lots of hot steamy moments. Glad it's not quite over yet,....

Sly and his Kitten Michaela

This is my 1st book by Nicole James, and I really enjoyed it. I couldn't wait to get Sly's book. I knew by all of the sneak peeks we got of him in the previous books that there was a lot more to him than being the tattooed, sëxy, biker that all of the women fawn over. He has had a rough upbringing and was förcëd to grow up quickly. We get a view of his backstory, and we meet Michaela, who is trying to live her life and live her dreams. But life throws her a curveball, and she has no choice but to return to her hometown and look over the family business when her dad passes. She meets Sly, and there's an immediate attraction between them. So much happens between them, and they have to work for each other, but in the end its all worth it when they get their HEA. I definitely recommend this book and the rest of the series. I can't wait to see what comes next.

Sly and Michaela don't meet under the best of circumstances. She has just lost her father and finds out that his Club wants protection money every month from her family's bar. She is over her head and feels that the weight of her entire family has been placed on her shoulders. It did seem a bit of a stretch that her aunt couldn't step in and help out. Also, she is very naive and trusting. Her age is a factor and it seems some people are out to take advantage of her. Sly is intrigued from the very minute he lays eyes on her. He is smart enough to know that he has to take things slowly, or she will bolt. He shows patience and even a lot of support to her. It takes a while for her to see things clearly and it was an interesting journey to see her get there. A good ending to this series.

A definite must read book & series

This was a fantastic series, and this was a perfect ending to it all. I really wish that there had been stories about Poe and Church as well, especially after the situation with Chaos' sister in the first book. Lol! I really enjoyed this story, and loved how it all played out. It's certainly not a story that you are going to want to miss!
I enjoyed reading these stories from some of my favorite authors, as well as some new ones too, and can't wait to see what they come up with next.
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding authors.

Great MC series. Very good book. Well written, as always for this author. This book is longer than the other series books. I have many of this author's books. The main characters have amazing chemistry. Always love an intelligent, sweet Alpha brute of a man. Sly's character had lots of depth. Unfortunately, not so much a fan of Michaela. While she showed tenacity, it seemed only to come out when challenged. The rest of the time she seemed defeated and wussy. And not too smart. I wish she would have looked into here father's death with more intent than she did. Ending seemed a rushed to tie up loose ends.
No matter, the book is well worth your time and $$

I've read this author before and love her. This one did not disappoint. So, I got this book thinking it was the first in a new series, bah, I'm a ninny and it's actually the last in a series. So, that was fun. Lol

Sly and Michaela are the couple in this story. Michaela has come home to help her family after a tragic loss and Sly meets her at the family pub. Sly is taken from the get go and Michaela is trying to keep her head afloat. There's some bumps along the way but they make it. The scene with the "kitty, kitty" is too cute.

Great

Michaela was a employee at TR Ross, Private Investigations until she's called home when her dad passed out, she now has to run the family business.  Sly is the treasurer for Kings of Carnage MC. Michaela and Sly meet when he comes into her family bar. They attraction is immediate but Michaela doesn't trust the MC. Will they get a chance at love? What will happen when Michaela finds out her dad's death might not be what it seems? Will there be a HEA?

Sly is the last book in the Kings of Carnage MC Series written by the amazing Nicole James. Excellent biker romance story that will keep you hooked until the end and you seriously want more. Marcus “Sly” Gates & Michaela Mooney meet when he comes into Mooney's bar, after she inherited her father's bar. They have great chemistry and the plot has the perfect amount of everything; action with mystery, bit of banter and a hot biker romance. An awesome finish to a wonderful series.

Was it murder or suicide? This is a well written story of compassion and love for family and finding someone to love you ! I recommend this book with a 5 Stars rating

Really Sweet!

This one was really sweet and I fell in love with the happy couple. I loved the woman's determination and stubbornness. But it really matched his willingness to not give up on what he felt in his heart. I love how he didn't give up and she stayed true to her feelings in the end! I teared a little when he had a heart to heart within mom. What big bad biker does that? LMAO Great read overall!

Great standalone story

I really enjoyed the characters of this story, their personalities and charm made for a great read. It was a little odd reading about Bouncer, since he was pretty antisocial in his standalone story, but this one he was flirty and charming. There were also a couple moments that "lined up too well", making it less realistic. But overall, it was a good read. I could see a movie being made from the story.

Sly

I absolutely loved this book. Sly is every girls dream guy. I loved how he opened up to Michaela about his past. I loved how he was there for her when she found out the truth about her da and went to speak to him. The chemistry between them was off the charts. I'm so happy they got their happily ever after.
