The Heights Crew #2

Arm Candy Warrior

Rate this book

I don’t belong in the Heights.

Truth be told, no one does. It’s dirty, grimy. Riddled with crime, the destitute, and the desperate. Where the family unit doesn’t always mean a mom, a dad, and two-point-five kids. It’s whoever gives you the time of day.

That’s how the Heights Crew came about. The only relationship that counts in the Heights is if you’re a part of the Crew. There, gang ties are thicker than blood. More important than money, safety, or any other promise we’re supposed to have in this life. Even more important than yourself.

Me? I’m in, and I can’t get out.

Some days, I’m not even sure I want to.

Arm Candy Warrior is the second book in The Heights Crew series, a dark high school enemies to lovers reverse harem.

So bonds and connections strengthen in this second instalment.
We also get much more of mag this time and I felt like I got to know him so much better here.
He’s slightly older and has a real protective streak when it comes to Kyla and I could definitely sense his evolving emotions when it came to her.
He’s also fully aware of her unconventional relationships with both Brawler and Oscar even going as helping them and being complicit in hiding what they are up to.

Johnny is also definitely evolving and though he is still very much under his fathers thumb you can see him trying to break free even at times questioning his own blind loyalty.
But it’s really just baby steps for him at the moment and I’m seriously worried he’s going to go completely postal when he learns the truth when it comes to kyla and her boys.
I mean the man is seriously psycho when it comes to who touches his girl so I think Kyla's definitely going to have her work cut out bringing Johnny into her fold.

So can I say that ménage scene between Kyla Oscar and Brawler was so majorly hot and also when Johnny totally loses it and tries to order Mag to take care of his girl, Man that was messed up, fabulous but totally psycho.
So this again finished on a dozy of a cliffy which means I will be starting the next book like straight away.
This series is seriously addictive and I’m having a blast with it all I really enjoyed this one a whole lot.

What an AMAZING book! I promise you, if you don’t read this series, you will be missing out on an enjoyable and heart-wrenching roller coaster ride built of love, violence, and vengeance.
Arm Candy Warrior made me feel all the emotions beginning with anxiety, happiness, rage, and definitely the best “oh my god” moments!

What I love most about this book is how we get to read the growth of each character, and how they are making us question our initial impressions (whether good or bad) of them from Uppercut Princess. Kyla continues to be the badass fighter in and out of the ring with her fierce determination and pride, yet there are agonizingly beautiful moments where she questions her humanity while seeking her revenge. “I might be the monster in this story,” is one of my favorite quotes, while also presenting a true focal point of THE question everyone asks themselves at some point in their lives. When is enough enough? Where do you draw the line in how far you will go for loyalty and to exact your revenge? They say when you seek revenge, make sure to dig two graves. I can’t wait to see how Kyla continues to battle her dark side while having all these men envelop themselves around her heart.

The Heights crew guys are all incredible in their own ways. One guy, ultimately, sticks out personally for me for which I feel readers will melt over and that would be the complicated Johnny Rocket. He has gradually grown on me from someone I wanted to punch in the face in Uppercut Princess, into someone I now want to hug or maybe snuggle in Arm Candy Warrior. Johnny is a beautiful disaster, there’s so many layers and depth to him that you can’t wait to see how he will finally unravel! Brawler, Oscar, and Magnum are each awesome with shadows of tragedy marking them. However, I will let you make up your own minds about them. I am confident they will be not only give readers all the feels, but take up residence in their hearts as well!

You need to read this book! Arm Candy Warrior is more dangerous, intense, and heart stopping with every moment getting closer to big finale. Kyla is a warrior and she’s prepping for war, I can’t wait to see who wins!

Safe to say that Johnny's still on my shit list. Though I MAY warm up to him over time. Brawler and Oscar are forever gonna be my number ones. Magnum's good too. Kyla...I wasn't really feeling her as much in this book. She's not really being coy or smart about her revenge plan and it's kinda getting old now. But imma keep reading cuz I wanna see where the story goes :)

The title of this book is so accurate but may turn so many readers off!
First, I love that the heroine is strong but has moments where she is human. Moments that I can relate to her. She gets jealous, but she is not crazy. Kyla is loving, but she dies not allow people to take advantage of her. I am so glad I did not give up on this book.

I love that Kyla is a fighter, but is feminine too.
I just love all the characters.
The writing flows and the story is very interesting.

I did not see that cliffhanger.

Read other books by this author in the future: yes

his review is about book one and two, as I binged both of them within two days. It was a buddy read with the #cakeeaters crew. And I enjoyed the buddy read.
The FMC is called Kyla, she moved to the Heights where the Heights Crew rules. And she is on a mission. First day in school she meets Oscar a member of the Crew. He pulls her in his trouble with a girl, who wants to be his girlfriend. And this ends in a lot of trouble for Kyla. She also meets Browler, how seems to be a tough guy and the outside, but is actually a good guy on the insider. Her trouble ends in her fighting a girls in an underground circuit. And because she pretended that she is the underdog with no muscles everybody is pretty much caught red handed, when she wins the fight and shows that she has a lot of muscles but she also gains the attention of Johnny Rocket, who claims her. Rocket is a real special guy. On one had, he tries to be good to Kyla but then he mishandles her and treats her badly, but for her, he is part of her plan to get close to the leader of the crew. And she succeeds here. And the leader makes her his top fighter, and makes a deal with another gang that if she wins a fight for him, than he gets the right to run the fight circuit and the other gang has to leave the city. This ends in Kyla winning and the crew killing the leaders of the the rival gang. And here ends the first book, which is a train wreck really. And the ending really asked for the next part, which was luckily already release.

The next part moves on like the first book. Kyla is living with Rocket, but her relationship with Oskar and Browler gets more intense and also the Bodyguard Magnum seems to be interested in her. So this book is about hiding out, because they have to find out if the leaders of the rival gang survived the shoot out, then moving the relationship on and randomly Kyla tries to move on with her plan to kill the leader.

I liked both books very much it’s my kind of train wreck. There are triggers, because Rocket is abusive, and Kyla makes too many excuses for him. But still at the end of book 2 I am pining after book three!

So overall I liked the series, the nicknames of the crew are a bit crazy and I really like Magnum. Definatly a 4 stars read!

Well..this series died quickly

I loved the first book. It was so good! So much so, I jumped on this one the day it released. I was sorely disappointed. It took me 3 days to try to read this when I usually read 2 books a day. I just couldn’t get into it and found myself skimming which I hate to do. Kylas behavior is so immature and hypocritical. God forbid one of the three men in her life be seen with another woman, yet she’s constantly talking about her feeling for wanting to sleep with all three and even goes so far as fooling around, but they better not do the same. And her thoughts and relationship with Johnny are disturbing. The guy is scum in the beginning and abusive and scum still, yet she feels for him. Ya, I’m sure in a Stockholm syndrome way probably! And let’s not forget Magnum in this either. He’s the normal one, most realistic, yet we know nothing about him...hmmmm. Then the final scene is so far fetched, it could easily be worse than a B rated bad cop movie. Not once was she asked where she was the night of the shooting, just her prints are on the gun and she’ll be arrested. No questions at all..where were you, why your prints, do you know her...nothing..
it was all just laughable and corny, thus, I won’t be reading any farther on this series as I’ve lost my interest and it’s a shame because I usually love this author’s books!

Pageturner!

Arm Candy Warrior starts up right after where Uppercut Princess ended. If there’s anything that this book is proof of, it’s how talented the author is. The way she develops the plot and characters is a joy to read. Once you start, you just can’t help but keep on reading. I love Kyla and I love spending time in her head as a reader. She’s very relatable as a heroine, or at least someone we all wish we could be, as far as her personality and strength goes. I loved getting to know the guys better and to see the different aspects of their personalities too. It really adds a certain je ne sais quoi to reading this series. Plotwise, the story unfolds at the perfect pace, making it never feel like it’s dragging or going to fast. That ending definitely left me wanting so much more. To me, it isn’t that bad of a cliffhanger, but it undoubtedly left me reeling!

Review - 4.5 ⭐ book 2

FML. That ending!! 😳😳🤐🤐
This book continues on from book 1, once again it's another brillaint page turner. I was hoping in this book I would be able to determine how I feel about rocket, but I'm still not sure wether we are meant to like him or not 😂 I mean, he has improved in ways and is trying in his own psychotic way! I was also hoping to see if Magnum comes out of his shell and work out if he is interested as friends or more! I definitely think there is something there between the two of them, he is very protective of Kyla. I think maybe he is seeing how things play out with the other boys before throwing his ring in the game! E.M Moore definitely likes to keep us on our toes!! I don't have anything to say about Brawler or Oscar apart from ❤❤❤ I'm off to read the next book!! 😁

This is literally the best!

These cliffys are a torture of the sweetest kind! Either that or I’m just a masochist but who cares!!!

This series is giving me life!

Full of dark and mysterious intent, heavy tension that leaves you taught as a bow and a kick ass heroine you can’t help but imagine yourself to be.

I love how with everything going on, the relationships kyla is forging but also the drama and obstacles that come up don’t faze her away from her ultimate goal. Usually when feelings get involved especially to someone so close to your goal lines get blurred and missions get aborted. But with kyla, she doesn’t let it stop her from reaching that moment where she takes back her life and that is admirable. So different from all the other dark books that start off like that only to turn a blind eye in the end. I think for me personally that’s what makes this story even more riveting!

The web gets more tangled in this book with games being played all around and unknown agendas hung in the air. Definitely steamy yet some heartwarming moments also which I love. The flow of the story and placement of light and dark moments really make the experience all the more engaging.

The characters and their growth progression matches the story perfectly. Brawler!!! I’m calling dibs!!! Truly a captivating read that transported me to this world and I cannot wait to see how it all comes to head in the next book!

I loved every moment!

Must read!

I started the first book in the series yesterday and couldn't put it down. When it was over with I needed this book like I needed to breathe. I'm not sure how she did it but this book was just as good if not better than the last. And now I need the third book like yesterday. I need more of my guys! Especially Brawler and Magnum! Not sure when I'm going to learn to stop reading books with Cliffhangers when the next book isn't out yet but this series is definitely worth the wait for the next book. I'm kinda really upset I didnt read them before now actually. This cliffhanger wasn't really as bad as the last book since I had a feeling it was coming. So even though it left me with one heck of a book hangover I dont mind waiting for the next book. If you haven't started this series yet then your missing out for sure!

More re-reading. I really am enjoying how hostile and possessive all the future members of Kyla's harem are acting. Usually, RH guys have some connection or even a pre-formed group before the heroine comes in to complete things, but these guys would all gladly kill each other at first.

Johnny Rocket continues to be my problematic fave. He's almost cartoonishly possessive and grabby, but since his gang lord father has forbidden him from sleeping with Kyla, his frustration manifests in... unusual ways. Kyla now for sure wants him to be part of her endgame cluster, but at this point, he's making that seem impossible. I kinda love him.

*Cue Britney Spears singing Oops I Did It Again here* I started book three before taking the time to stop and write a review for Arm Candy because I couldn’t wait again! I’m not even sorry. Book two was a whirl wind of twists and turns and I couldn’t not rush to start book three and find out what happened! Such a fantastic series and certainly worth the lack of sleep!

I’m enjoying this dark series with lots of blood and murder, but none of these characters seem like they’re high school aged. I wish there were more chapters from the guy’s perspectives. Let’s see where this story goes next.

This was such a fast read. I like that there's a little more insight into the characters and that we're learning more about the business dealings of the heights crew. I'm looking forward to the next installment, which will be out in a couple of days!

Danger, hurt, love, laughter, lies & tourtured souls!

An explosive start to book two in the heights crew series but i needed to know they were all ok!! Kyla ia one tough badassary chick but underneath the hard exterior is a lost soul. Once i had my heart calmed down amd could breathe and think, there is so much more within this book & characters- bundles of danger, hurt, love, laughter, lies & tourtured souls!

𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬.
𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐝, 𝐧𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬. 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐲, 𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐲. 𝐑𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞

Johnny has me torn still, but there undeniable attraction is laced in every conversation & interaction they have. Johnny can be a complete ass but damnn i am drawn to him!

Magnum, Oscar & Brawler have my heart and soul they've all completely grown with the story & their feircly loyal to Kyla - it will have you swooning. There friggin chemistry is strong and leaves your heart pounding as a reader!

There were so many moments my head was shouting OMG & nooo as i took in each chapter.  That ending damn Moore loves a cliffy and i am fully friggin invested within the heights crew❤

An explosive start to book two in the heights crew series but i needed to know they were all ok!! Kyla ia one tough badass!

I love the characters. Kyla is such a strong, intense character who’s gotten herself in a situation which is far more complicated than she expected.

Johnny - I love the chemistry between them and I absolutely loved seeing their relationship develop in this book. God is frustrating how he won’t give into his desires though and still listening to daddy k🤬

Love how you get to know more about Brawler and Oscar!! How her relationship has developed with these two! And I love how she trusted them😬

Magnum is a great character too. I love how their relationship is developing, but they haven’t crossed that line yet. I’m looking forward to Magnum taking that leap, and giving into his feelings.

I still can’t see how this is going to be a non choosing story unless one of the main characters has a major personality transplant

Book two is centering around Kyla and her relationships between Johnny, brawler, Oscar and Magnum.

Showing how much she genuinely feels for Johnny, despite the issue of him being Daddy ks son and having the big secrets from him. She doesn't know how that will pan out in the end.

In contrast brawler and Oscar now know her secret and stand by her. She's determined to get them all out of the Crew and safe together.

The relationship with Magnum is in the air. We're not sure how it's going yo go. There's something but it might be a really good friend or something stronger...

The cliffhanger is a doozy, leaving us not knowing if Magnum is safe. If Oscar was OK on his motorbike, and what's going to happen to kyla now......

Let me tell you how much I LOVED THIS BOOK!! Oh man ACW is by far the best book I’ve read this year. (with the exception of Uppercut Princess)

I love how Kyla is the strongest FMC EVER! She is faced with so so so many obstacles but she powers straight through them with her head held high. Kyla is struggling with her feelings towards a few characters in this book and I hope she comes out of this with her heart still intact.

Johnny is working hard to redeem himself in Arm Candy Worrier. He has completely stolen my heart for sure.

If you’ve been on the fence about reading The Heights crew books you definitely should! They are amazing and complete page turners!

There will be I know at least another book added but hopefully it will not end so soon! I want these books to go on forever!

Thank you E.M Moore for giving us readers pure gold! You’re AMAZING!

Oh man have I been waiting for this one. Ever since Uppercut Princess ended I have been needing to know if my boys were all right. I am not going to say much, just in case you haven't read book one yet. But after the ending we are left if wondering if the boys are okay. Well we do not find out right away, which had me reading faster until I did. I just honestly devoured Arm Candy in one setting.

Kyla is such a complex character and is so much fun to read. She has a mission but things are not going as planned. And to see her take hit after hit, how she changes direction, and how she deals with things. I am just in awe of her.
The guys, some I want to love, some I want to hate but don't.

Overall the pace of the story was fast, the plot of the story is crazy, and is just really a great read. After that ending, I was heart broken for Kyla and I need to know how she is going to tackle this.

I've been waiting for so long on this book. I had high expectations and E.M. Moore fulfilled every one of them. there are a lot of questions, which are answered in this book. you get to know more about Kayla ‘s past and more about the boys. She just has been on her own for a long time now and finds it hard to trust anyone. Which is why i am so glad she starts to trust Brawler and Oscar, and all the time spend with Magnum and Johnny gave more insight on the whole gang system. You get to know more about the past of the boys and why they are stuck in this life. My heart truly breaks for each of them. This book, being a slow reverse harem and with boys whom are not keen on sharing her, really brings out a whole new perspective to the harem. They have to learn how to share and be around each other. I’m curious how Johnny will react to the harem thing, because he is one hell of an alpha male. Kayla, being in the center of Big Daddy K’s plans, puts a big target on her back. Trying everything to survive, keeping her boys save, take Big Daddy K down and get out. She has her work cut out for her, but if there is one thing we do know is that Kayla is a major badass chick. She just needs to learn how to depend on her boys because she has no choice now than to put her life in their hands, mostly Johnny and Magnum. i can’t wait to see how this series ends in the next book!

I keep seeing the clues the author has left us throughout the books! But OMG things are getting intense. I felt so awful for Oscar in this book. Everything we learn about him and how he was hurt. I just feel so bad for him. Let’s talk about Magnum for a moment. I absolutely love him (such a dreamy sigh towards him). I really hope this all works out for Kayla in the end. She has really set herself up for some emotional and physical pain if it doesn’t. Book number 3, here I come.

I find this contemporary RH series a very entertaining and fast read, which is nice in between my longer, more serious books. As I said in my review for book one, the only downfall to me about the series is there not being enough relationship development on page between the heroine and each of the harem members; it really needs more to justify the emotional feelings they profess to have for each other - and for reading enjoyment since we all like to see that falling in love process!

I really like the story, the dynamics of FMC relationships she forms with the “crew” is great & the spice is leading up to about to get extra hot ❤️‍🔥 but the female narrator on audio is hard to listen to 😣I might have to read book 3 instead of listen.

Omg the second installment of the Heights Crew blew me away. I love Magnum. I need more of him. And Johnny is growing on me. Kyla is such a kick ass heroine. She's so strong in light of everything she's been through. I just want her to ride off into the sunset with her happy ever after. I can't wait for the final book to see how everything plays out. So many secrets and you just have to wonder who knows what. As always Ms. Moore has created another hit.

Good second book in the series

The plot thickens plenty in this second book as Kyla builds her harem and her reputation in the Heights Crew, but it also felt a little like the plot was being stretched out to fill a second and third book. Hopefully Beautiful Soldier will move a little faster.

I was so anxious to get my hands on Arm Candy Warrior after reading Uppercut Princess. I'm happy to say that this was an excellent addition to the series. I devoured this book! There's so much chemistry and sexual tension between Kyla and the guys.

The guys...swoon... I still completely adore Oscar and Brawler. And I love that we got more Magnum in this book. I can't wait to see where that relationship goes in the next one.
As for Johnny... I'm starting to like him more and more, but he still needs to work for it in my book lol.

I'm so excited to see what E.M. Moore has in store for us in book 3!
