I guess I am one of the minorities here.
I did not really enjoy the book.
While the blurb promised to be enticing one,
the characters were too bland (hero too plain, not quite the brooding hero I was hoping, while the heroine was just well .... she wasn't distinctive in anything so I can't seem to find any suitable word for her),
the storyline was lacking in any tension and climax,
and lastly, there wasn't any connection between the couple. The whole story was just too 'blah'.

Heroine came back to her hometown as her father was dying from cancer.
She'd been avoiding her hometown because of the hero, whom she dated 6 years ago ... and the only man she ever loved.
When they met, they could not stay away from each other.
Heroine's father passed away, and just as she was planning to leave, hero approached again to tell her he loved her.

Wow this book get so hot you may need a cold shower I absolutely could not get enough of this I was hooked from the first page great writing job bravo loved it and if anyone is looking a steamy wonderful read then add this one to your list you will not be disappointed I was not, I loved it

When you’re born into the mafia there are certain things that are expected of you, especially when you’re a man. Like taking over the business once your dad has died or retired. Should you HAVE to do it even though you don’t want too ? Obligation or Not ?

That’s the situation Maximo finds himself in. His father passed when he was younger and was expected to take over the business when he became of age. But Max was in love with Nat, who was the other boss of the mafia’s daughter. When she turned 21 she said she was leaving the town, state and most importantly the business and neighborhood. What she didn’t want to leave behind was Max.

Nat left Max stayed....

Six years later she returns for her dying dad. One look at Max everything came rushing back to her. One touch from him and she was done. Could she leave him again after her dad passed away? But there was a problem...Max was seeing another woman !!

Will Max choose Nat and more importantly will Nat choose Max and stay ?

Natalia, her brother Dario and his best friend Maximo grew up together in the same town. Maximo's father was the head of the local mafia and Dario and Natalia were children of his enforcer. From friends as children, Maximo and Natalia becomes sweethearts and then lovers. When Natalia moved away to college her views on the family business changed and Natalia gave Maximo an ultimation either the family business or her and she left. Six years later she returned to the bedside of her dying father, she knew she loved Maximo still but nothing had changed. Maximo still loved her and she could not live with the pain of a mafia man. This was an emotional read, the pain of lost love had never gone away from either of them, will he go with her when she leaves, read the book to find the answer.

“I will never forgive myself for letting you go.”

5 stars. It was beautiful written and kept my interest the entire time. There is so much love and passion that it bleeds off of the pages. Max is just amazing.

Nat decides the Mafia life isn’t for her, so she moves thousands of miles away. Max won’t leave the Mafia, so she has to leave him behind. It nearly killed them both.
Nat comes back after 6 years because her father is about to die of lung cancer. Sparks fly when she sees Max again and neither know how to proceed. Nat doesn’t want the kind of life Max leads and Max doesn’t know if he can actually leave it.
Nat has a life back in California and Max has a son with a random woman that lives in a different town and a steady hook up going on with a girl they all went to school with.
Can they find a way to move forward together, or do they have to find a way to let go and somehow move on from an epic love?
I highly recommend you read to find out.

Love hurts

This is the most intense book I have read so far.
I can understand not wanting to get involved in The Business anymore than what Natalia already knew about.
Maximo and her brother Dario were heavily involved since the older generation were no longer around.
Natalia left 6 years ago because she didn't want to know anymore about it.
Now, back because her dad is dying from lung cancer (brought a lot memories back for me).
No matter how much they try to ignore the love they have for each other, there is just no way to deny the intense love that is there.
This is another fantastic book written by Alexa Hart.

I have loved this entire series and this is no exception The books flow well and keep yopu engaged as you go through the angst and drama with the characters.

Maximo(Max) and Natalia(Nat) knew at a young age that they loved one another but Nat broke his heart when she walked away after deciding she wanted nothing to do with the families Mafia business. Now six years later she has returned as her father is dying of lung cancer. She still feels the same about the family business but she also still loves Max. With a love that is as strong as what they have there is no way they can deny it but are they going to be able to find a way to have a HEA. Absolutely loved Dario and I hope he gets his own story

This was a great book! It was a fantastic second chance mafia romance. It had been six years since Natalia Angelone had been home. She wouldn't be home now but her father was dying...stage four cancer. He was on limited time and she planned to stay until he passed his last breath. One thing Natalia did not want to see was Maximo Fanucci. They had been in love since she was a teenager. After years she asked him to choose between her or the mafia business, he chose the business. That didn't mean he loved her any less. They both love with their whole hearts even the six years they were apart. Maximo saw this time Natalia was home as a chance to make things right. He refused to let her get away from him again. This book is a must read and I highly recommend!

Coming home for family but maybe getting a second chance with your first love

Maximo is the third book in the Mob Daddies series by Alexa Hart. This is the story of Maximo (Max) and Natalia (Nat). As with the other books in this series this really what I would term as "Mafia Lite" but there is a lot of emotion in this book. This is a story about second chances, first loves, family, honor and duty, leaving what you grew up with but then finding yourself coming back home and to some things the same and others changed and of course some hot and steamy chemistry with someone that your head says no to but your body just craves.
This is a nicely written story with a good story-line and great characters. I enjoyed this book in the series and look forward to reading the next.

Maximo and Natalia were bound by loyalty but also separated by fate. This was a great story steeped in mafia tradition, so much drama and tension yet the romance side of the story very strong. I found the flash back part of the book in the beginning a little off putting but eventually caught up. The development of the story and the significance of the characters and their roles in the plot let the story move along nicely. Certainly had a great deal of heart felt moments too. Well done to Alexa Hart for greasy writing too!

Maximo is the third book in Alexa Hart’s Mob Daddies series and is a second chance romance. This is the story of Maximo (Max), who becomes the head of his family’s mafia business, and Nat, a psychologist who left her mafia mob boss father but returns when she learns he is dying. When Max and Nat meet again after six years the sparks fly as they once were in love. Will a second chance for love occur for this couple? I recommend this well written novel which has wonderful characters and a plot with an emotional rollercoaster ride which the reader will find addictive.

I was on a emotional roller coaster with Nat and Max. Their love stood the tests of time. These two were stubborn, I could have knocked their heads together so that they could see the stars that were in their eyes for each other. You really don't have a say when you are born into a mafia family, knowing one day you will have to take over it. The book is romantic at heart with the drama thrown in. It was entertaining. It was sad because of the loss of family but overall you still had you happily ever after. Looking forward to Dario story.

Ugh

The book is a decent read it’s just frustrating when you see characters that should be strong be be put into situations that make them look and act stupid.

Even knowing this was a second change book and would have a HEA, I got upset that Nat would get back with Max and upset that Nat would act the way she did. Max cheated on the girl he was seeing with Nat when she returned. Nat even knew Max was seeing the girl that girl they all hated as kids. Even if it’s not complete commitment there is still a level of trust there and did anyone think or talk about possible STD’s? No!!

Alexa Hart has written a story that tear at your heart. The journey Maximo and Natalie go through is is filled you pain, sorrow, longing and love.

Max and Natalie grew up close to each other, they knew what "the family business" was and what was expected. After being apart of years, Natalie returns to be with her father in his.last days. Reconnecting with Max was as if no time had past. They both have to choice of what they want this time around.

Maximo is a moving story of family love that will having you gabbing a tissue as your heart breaks.

This would have been a wonderful, touching story but it hit one of my triggers. Nat and Max grew up together and fell in love. When she discovered that her brother and Max were in the mafia, she couldn't accept it and left. Nat has a wonderful career but now her father is dying and she's not only going home, but she knows she'll have to face Max. There's where it falls apart for me. Max has a child with someone else in another town and there's a girl he's seeing, but he cheats on her with Natalie! Just no... Even though they have their HEA, it's not satisfying for me. The writing is excellent and I will definitely try another one of Alexa Hart's books!

Maximo and Natalia were so in love before it was torn apart. Natalia did not want to live the life that she had been raised in, however, Max was determined to remain in the life. She leaves for the West Coast and severs all ties to him. Six years later she returns as her father is dying and is unable to stay away from Max. The question is whether they can rekindle their love and have their happily ever after.

This is the second book I read in this series and I found it romantic and full of drama. The story of Maximo (Max) and Natalia was heartfelt and enjoyable to read. Max and Nat grew up together and fell in love but Max and Nat's brother Dario were in the Mafia and Natalia wanted nothing to do with it so she left. Six years later Natalia returns home because her father is sick and dying from cancer. When Max meets Natalia, he wants a chance to win her back because he still loves her. An exciting second chance romance

Nat, a psychologist, returns home after six years and runs into Max, her first love and boss of the neighborhood business. As the story progresses rehashing the past opens old wounds, feelings in the present could cause a change, and if they both stop running from the truth they just might have a future. Alexa Hart’s Maximo is an exciting second chance romance with a mafia flavor. I would love to see Dario get his own story.

This is the 3rd book in this awesome series and is Maximo and Natalia’s story. Max is Nat’s brothers’ best friend and was always set to become a mob boss, and she leaves town as this is not the life she wants. Now that she is back the chemistry between these two is explosive. This is a well written 2nd chance romance, which is filled with drama, emotional, passion, and love which all lead to an all-consuming, intense and steamy read. I was hooked throughout and highly recommend for all.

Loved the book, the story was well written and the characters were intriguing. Once I started I could not get enough, from the start till the end I was engrossed I was even on the edge of my seat with twists and turns, hot and steamy, lust and passion, strength, happiness with a happily ever after.
