USA Today Bestselling Author Caroline Fyffe was born in Waco, Texas, the first of many towns she would call home during her father's career with the US Air Force. A horse aficionado from an early age, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications from California State University-Chico before launching what would become a twenty-year career as an equine photographer. She began writing fiction to pass the time during long days in the show arena, channeling her love of horses and the Old West into a series of Western historicals. Her debut novel, Where the Wind Blows, won the Romance Writers of America's prestigious Golden Heart Award as well as the Wisconsin RWA's Write Touch Readers' Award. She and her husband have two grown sons and live in the Pacific Northwest.
Found this to be a very enjoyable read! Several different story lines and characters all flow together to bring us a marvelous story set in Logan Meadows in the late 1800's. A long awaited reunion, secrets that surface and new found love are just a few things happening in this tiny town. This wonderfully talented author always brings us a heartwarming story line filled with amazing characters. This is a must read!
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book; all opinions expressed are my own.
This is a very well written story of finding love, lovely secondary characters, and standing up to a very real evil.
It was such a joy in catching up with and finding out what characters from previous books have been up to and how their lives have changed since falling in love. There are a few nail-biting moments, as well as a few tears and fun laugh out loud moments. These characters are strong, their back-stories are interesting and the plot keeps the reader guessing as to what is going to happen next. Ms. Fyffe has done a wonderful job with the addition of this book to the Prairie Heart Series. She is definitely my favorite author for this type of story.
In Winter Winds of Wyoming we take a trip back to the town of Logan Meadows and get to catch up on what all the previous characters have been up to, how the married couples are doing, check in on the engaged couples and get to fall in love with characters who may have a chance at their happy ever after.
The story opens with Dalton Babcock wondering where his next meal is coming from. Since moving to Logan Meadows he hasn’t had much luck with making a living being a private investigator, as this small town doesn’t have much going on to need this particular service. As luck would have it though the sheriff wants to go out of town with his family for a few weeks and he has asked Dalton to be a temporary deputy. So the story unfolds as Dalton keeps an eye on the town. It’s Christmas time so there is a lot of love and good will among the towns’ people. However, evil shows up to try and ruin Christmas for the lovely people of Logan Meadows.
Jake Costner’s sisters, Adaline and Courtney are settling in after moving to Logan Meadows to be near their brother, Jake and his wife Daisy. Both girls are adjusting nicely and becoming a part of the town and making friends. When Courtney’s past is about to catch up with her she is afraid her life and all her new friends will change forever. Adaline has her own bit of excitement when she has to do something she never thought possible. Also, since it’s Christmas there is a miracle or two included in this wonderfully written love story. What makes this book different from the “run of the mill” romances is there are several couples who get their happy ever after and each one is different but the reader gets pulled into each one, excited to see the relationships of each come together quite nicely!
Winter Winds of Wyoming, A Prairie Hearts Novel, By Caroline Fyffe
In Logan Meadows, Wyoming Territory, December, 1883.
It’s winter, early December, freezing cold, snow is flying. Christmas is in the air.
“A place to live out her life, the hominess wrapped around her like a thick wool coat, making her feel treasured.”
Newcomers are settling in and loving their new home, where kindness and welcoming abound. Except for a new arrival who is determined to ruin the reputation of a young girl. Dalton, after being rescued from a horrible fate in San Francisco by Jake Costner and his sister Adaline is happy to return, he’s jobless, broke, a bit of good luck happens and he’s offered the job of temporary deputy.
Another new arrival, sickness, sadness, mixed with much happiness and love, Caroline writes with her heart and soul. She adds so much passion to her story. I absolutely loved it! Maybe it’s my new favorite. The whole town of Logan Meadows is a special place to live. Mrs. Hollyhock especially is the heart of Logan Meadows.
Please do yourself a favor, read Winter Winds of Wyoming. I’m so happy to have the opportunity to read this story. I recommend it, because it is well written and left me wanting more. If you love a clean western story, and even if you don’t, do yourself a favor and please read Winter Winds of Wyoming by Caroline Fyffe.
I love everything Catoline writes and this was definitely another wonderfully written story. I couldn't stop reading. So much emotion, and feeling intertwined throughout I am always in amazement by the reality of the stories. Revisiting Logan Meadows was a joy. We get to see all of our much loved characters and see what their dates are. Dalton and Adaline are so sweet getting to know one another. Adaline has secrets she wants to keep hidden. They may ruin her, but Dalton is finding his feelings to be stronger than even he ever thought they could. Mrs. Hollyhock is always such a joy to see! She speaks her mind and is one of the most loved characters in this series. There were some moments that I was actually talking to myself regarding her! I couldn't believe what happened! She has put up with so much. I was so surprised by the ending of the book! I love everything about this series. The families are so engaging, so loving and the descriptions are sometimes absolutely gut wrenching. But in the end love conquers all and even the hardest and most bitter of hearts can be changed for the better.
Another wonderful and adventurous story by Caroline Fyffe in Logan Meadows one of my favorite places to visit. This one continues from the last book when Jake Costner and his new found sisters came back to Logan Meadows with Dalton who was a prisoner being sent to Alaska to the mines. Not at all a good situation but Jake recognized him in the prisoner camp and he and his sisters planned to break him out and get on the train to Logan Meadows. Now this story picks up with them back home in Logan Meadows where things go really good until bad news shows up in town. This is a good story with a lot going on, trouble enters town, one favorite character gets very sick and all are worried about her. Romance of course is always around just about every where you look. This in another fantastic story by Ms. Fyffe. It is a must read. I would give this more than 5 stars if I could. I received a copy from the author without any asking to review but to read and look for mistakes. I am doing this review because I loved this story and this is my honest opinion.
Realty good. Except the end kind of dragged and was uninteresting to me.
Well written.
Two romances are in play and both are given equal time. A third romance is given less time, but is a good second chance tale. Two of the romances deal with age differences, the other deals with secrets. One has separation but it is with the minor romance.
All is pretty safe. One romance, the H was previous in love with another but has gotten over it and doesn't pin very much except a little at the beginning.
Good conflict which kept the pace moving.
Can be read as a stand alone but would advise reading the others.

I loved this story about Dalton and Adaline. The book tells you the back stories of all of the couples that have fallen in love in Logan Meadows and updates you on everything that's been going on senses the last book. This book starts off with Dalton wondering where his next meal is coming from. He's unemployed but wants to stay in town. Albert the town sheriff wants some time off and asks Dalton to take over for him.
Dalton is thrilled to have a job for the Christmas season and he's fallen for Adaline, Jake's sister but he's afraid Jake won't except him because of the age difference. He knows is was a problem for Jake's sister Courtney and Wil. But Dalton can't stay away from her. Violet has adopted Dalton and wants him to come to supper all the time and Adaline is living with Violet.
It was such a pleasure to get some more news from one of my favorite little fictional towns, Logan Meadows! This new installment from the Prairie Hearts series by Caroline Fyffe did not disappoint! It was great to catch up on old friends from previous books in the series and to learn the stories of some characters who were left in limbo at the end of other books. There were several surprises, some sweet romances, and a a really evil bad guy (just to keep things interesting). There is enough background information to allow a reader to enjoy this story even if they have yet to read the other books but I encourage you to get them and read them--you'll be glad you did! I hope there will be more to come in this series! Highly recommend!
I'm not usually a fan of Romance or Western genres, but I make an exception with this author. I love this era of history, but most novels fudge on accurately reporting social history. Fyffe is reasonably accurate, and the few details I question are forgiven because she is an excellent writer. I get drawn into her characters and her stories. Her descriptions of scenery and situations have me feeling I'm part of the scene, right there with the characters. I did get the feeling that the ending dragged on in this story. I will not, however, leave one of Caroline Fyffe's Prairie Hearts novels less than a 5 star rating! I feel it would be an insult to my Logan's Meadows friends.
Life goes on in Logan Meadows, Wyoming Territory, and it’s almost Christmas, 1883. I wondered about Dalton Babcock and how his life turned out after his life-threatening events on the Coast of California. He’s made a new life here in Wyoming; many friends; and, the current challenge of a job. I loved this book! It was cold; there’s snow and ice; fireplaces burning; and, good food at the local cafe. I could literally smell the gingerbread; see the steam from the laundry; and, felt comfortable that Violet was still “running” the town. This author made me feel I was right there inside that bookstore. Thanks for a great read. I appreciate the early ARC so I could enjoy the visit to Wyoming.
The residents of Logan Meadows know how to celebrate Christmas! Those with evil in their hearts, like Wil, must be dealt with. Romance is in the air. It's quite an enjoyable read.
I had to take off a star for an error that I'm amazed was not caught by author, beta readers and editors. Remember the evil Hexum from the previous book? He is mentioned several times in this one as well except spelling is HEXIM. I checked the prior book and that spelling, it turns out, crept in there as well. Guess I didn't catch it in because the story was so gripping.
I loved this book and the people of Logan Meadows in Wyoming Territory. This is a sweet little town with many activities and storylines. We have people of this town starting over, baby’s being born, personal secrets coming out, and someone from the previous stories that returns home. Caroline Fyffe is an amazing author and writes awesome books. I love all her books and each one is better than the last. I highly recommend you read this book. You will Love it.
This is the story of Dalton Babcock. Earlier in the series, which I highly recommend reading, you will learn how he came to be in Logan Meadows orginally. After escaping a harrowing experience, aided by Jake and Jake's 2 newly discovered sisters, Dalton is back in town, nearly broke and looking for a way to stay there. This story will keep you guessing what happens next and to whom because it involves the whole town. Caroline is a master story teller and Winter Winds of Wyoming is no exception! This whole series is absolutely delightful to read and I, for one, recommend reading all 7 books!
Another great story by Caroline Fyffe, her 7th of Prairie Hearts located in Logan Meadows. This story is about Jake's sisters and Dalton with side stories about the Lings and Violet's missing son. Adeline is in love with Dalton, he is love with her, but he is without means of living and Jake is against the age difference. Courtney is in fear of being pregnant of Wil's child and him. How does it all come together? I really enjoyed the storytelling in this book. The characters are well thought out and developed. I highly recommend this book and series.
Way too many characters and due to their lack of maturity & faith in themselves the characters had no depth. Did not get interesting till half way through the book. Maybe next time the characters should be older instead of 17 & 18 years old. They just were not interesting. I expected way more out of Ms. Fyffe. She is actually one of my top 3 favorite authors. Was so excited about one of her new books being released. This is why I was so disappointed.
Sigh... So wonderful to see so many loving resolutions for wonderful characters in this Prarie Hearts series. Characters that we have come to know and love over the years contribute to this beautiful Christmas story of love, hope, and strength. Adaline and Courtney prove to be spunky and have the backbone to take on the challenges life has presented to them. Dashing heroes stand up for and strengthen these women when they need it most. Another heartwarming and uplifting story from Caroline Fyffe!
Another really good book from one of my favorite authors! Logan Meadows has a lot going on this Christmas. Dalton returns to town flat broke, but life is about to get interesting and much better. Adaline and her sister Courtney have just arrived in town and one of them has a a terrible secret. Does Adaline get her wish? How about Dalton? What’s the secret? Will everyone get what they want for Christmas?
This is another great book by this author and is #7 in the Prairie Hearts series.. The character development is excellent as we meet some old friends from other stories in the story, namely Dalton, as well as meet new friends in Logan Meadows. This is an action packed story with a competition, a scandal that comes to light, busy bodies, and romance. I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it.
I really enjoyed reading this book. Being that it is part of a series of tells a new story while catching up with old friends. Carolyn writing is wonderful! I feel like Logan meadows is a real place that I could actually visit, and the characters are so well developed they feel like friends. I would suggest you read the whole series. You won't be disappointed.
I am so happy Dalton got his happy ending! I have enjoyed Dalton's character since he was first introduced in Under a Falling Star. Dalton's character is great! He is strong but humble. Adaline is sweet and a perfect mate for Dalton. I was also happy to see Violet get her happy ending! Beth's character is explained better and we get to see a different side to her. I will miss everyone in Logan's Meadow.
What a wonderful trip back to Logan Meadows! Caught up with so many beloved characters and met a few new ones. As with all of Caroline's books, great storyline and character development. She has created a community that I would love to live in with a strong sense of family and friendship. Such a pleasure to lose yourself in this book and the entire Prairie Hearts series.
A lovely round up to the series with Dalton and Adeline and to a lesser degree other couples in Logan Meadows. Dalton and Adeline met each other in the previous book to this one and their story carries on. Christmas approaches and everybody's spirits are high, so what will mar the good feeling? No matter what it is, happy endings are in the air in more ways than one.
I loved every book in tge set and was looking for the next one. But this is it . Such lovely heart warming stories and entertaining and the characters were well. It is a wonderful story of love courage and Gods grace in difficult circumstances coming through the whole tale. I really loved this story and couldn't put it down Its so true to life and very interesting
Welcome back to Logan Meadows and the fine families that live here. This is a great series and this is a great addition to the series. This story has a great lesson to always tell the truth and take the power away from those who seek to destroy you. This is book seven and I highly recommend you start at book one and follow this grand adventure. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💝💝💝💝💝
Fabulous characters, I felt right at home with them! Such a wonderful story of family, love and friends. A great story that keeps you turning pages, so much to love about this little town. The story takes you on a personal journey with all of the many characters. Love, hopes and dreams are found on every page along with some nail biting moments. This is definitely a book you just can’t put down!
Following all the characters in these books has been an absolute delight. The twists and turns of all the personalities fit together perfectly…much like a good jigsaw puzzle. I would recommend the series to anyone interested in good, clean, romantic old west stories where the good guys always win!!
It was so comforting to take a trip back in time and visit with dear friends. This was another heartwarming tale that involved strong women and men of faith.
My favorites were Mrs. Hollyhock and Chase. Chase is such an amazing role model. His reaction to the confession made me smile.
Winter Winds of Wyoming is a continuation of the Prairie Hearts series. I have waited such a long time for this book, and now that the waiting is over, I cannot wait for the next installment! Highly recommended!
Great ending to a truly memorable series! Loved it and couldn't stop reading! It has been a while since I read these books, but it started to all come back! Logan He does was a wonderful town! Great read!
