Earpedia by Due Perkins has 13 episodes. This one I am writing the review one is just one. They are all about 10-15 minutes long. Each covers a specific animal. Each one is very informative and funny. I found myself taking a drink of tea at the wrong time and ended up snorting up tea through the nose! She is hilarious! I am not sure which was the most informative but I think the news was my favorite over all! I am so glad I found this audible book!
Tiny short stories/listens/episodes. Free. Audiobooks. Yes. Yes to all of that. :) "Earpedia: animals" was so much fun and I loved it. Each little episode discussed a different animal with fun facts and humor. Sue Perkins, our writer & narrator, brings so much life and comedy to these little bites of education.
I highly recommend for fans of audiobooks and humor. This is a great pick if you're looking for a bit of non-fiction. :D It's fun and it's educational, so it'll make you feel smart, lol.
This small collection of facts about 13 different animals was a fun and engaging listen. Sue Perkins is an a delightful narrator with very creative puns for animals. I loved learning about these weird creatures and it has given me a greater knowledge of nature and what I can do to save it.
The only reason it took me 6 months to finish this is because it’s so entertaining that I wanted to make it last. Several I listened to twice, like the Anaconda and Bees. I miss seeing Sue on the GBBO, so it was great to find her on Audible.
This podcast is about animals. Each episode is about a different animal and Sue Perkins shares facts about each one and there’s also comedy skits about each one. I enjoyed listening to this podcast and learning about the different animals but I didn’t think the skits were funny. I understand that she was trying to make the podcast more entertaining for people who are listening to the podcast but I think it would have been better without the comedy. The reason why the comedy didn’t work for me in this podcast is because Sue would share some facts about the animals and then there would be a skit and then she would share more facts about the animals and I feel like it didn’t flow very well that way.
Sue Perkins, former Bake Off host and comedian, presents thirteen episodes about some weird and interesting facts about the animal kingdom. These short but informative episodes were packed with weird and disturbing facts about some of the world's animals, such as the kangaroo or capuchin monkey.
I learned a lot of weird and interesting facts from this audio series. Capuchins are weird. Kangaroos are a lot scarier than I realized and have three vaginas, which is weird. The Mexican Salamander, aka axolotl, is cute but also apparently tastes good. Also look up a Pink Fairy Armadillo and see how weird it is.
Each of these episodes was fascinating and I wish there was more. I loved Sue’s narration and quips throughout the series. I also loved the clips of comedy in the episodes. Overall, this was a fascinating and fun look at some very weird animals. I loved how this was presented and hope she does more fact based series like this.
A riotously funny and informative podcast about some of stranger animals which populate this world of ours. Sue Perkins provides an amusing commentary about the natural world, interspersed with sketches about these animals. Bitesized at 11 minutes each, I got through this series in a day and throughly enjoyed it.
My favourite episodes included 'Anaconda' 'Common Cuckoo' 'Naked Mole Rat' and 'Pink Fairy Armadillo'
I would definitely recommend this episode to any fans of Sue Perkins, natural history, comedy or indeed all of the above.
The format of this book is to pick an animal, discuss a few neat facts about it, then fill in the rest of the time with over-the-top skits and sound effects akin to a low class radio comedy show.
The only people that I could conceive enjoying this listen would be people that write exclusively with Crayola branded writing utensils and are always willing to tell you about their favorite dinosaur (not at all a bad thing).
I’ve listened to this a couple of times now and I cackle out loud every single time. Sue has such a calming voice, I could fall asleep to this, and I mean that in the best way! It’s entertaining, informative, and hilarious. I definitely recommend!
This is just chock full of that intelligent comedy brilliance that Sue Perkins does so well. The information provided about the chosen animals is really interesting and the cut away sketches throughout are hilarious.
Listened to the whole earpedia collection at work today and honestly it was so hard to keep a straight face and not burst into laughter lmao anyway i know many things about very specific animals 10/10 would recommend
audible has many good free shows. but this is my favourite. it's funny and it's smart. it offers cool fun facts about really interesting animals. I'm hoping there will be more episodes.
It’s very good. The skits are a little too much. But it’s very adorable. And full of facts. really fun and short chapters each dedicated to a very odd animal!
In this series, Sue Perkins gives facts on 13 different interesting animals. I liked this series it was quite informative and funny and also well produced and narrated.
