A CHANCE TO REDEEM HIMSELF...At the age of 18, Bo Wingman was full of hope, eager to soar in the sky as a member of the United States Air Force. His dream looked like it would come true... until he was involved in a terrible accident, which cost his two best friends their lives. Everyone in town blamed him for it, and it was hard not to believe them. The Air gone. His gone. His life as he knew gone. All that was left to do was leave town, change his identity and start a quiet, tortured life working in an underground mine. And so the years drifted by.
But one day at work he is approached by a captivating scientist named Juliet Benedict. She knows about his past, and knows far more uncanny things than that. She coerces him into coming with her to a secret lab. She believes that an intergalactic civilization visited earth in eons past. She believes that they left something behind, a powerful artifact that is the key to bridging the stars. And she believes that Bo is not an ordinary, nameless mine worker. She believes that he is... THE SOLAR KING!
The only problem is, for as bright as Bo's power burns... the darkness of space is endless. It contains horrors that could destroy planet Earth entirely, or doom it to an even darker fate.
If Power Rangers, Gundam, Voltron and warrior goddesses all strike a chord in your heart, then this is the epic tale for you!
This book features city-crushing battles, mystical unions through physical passion, harem relationships and a monarch coming into his own power. For adults only.
This is a great first book and hooks you from the very beginning. It is a bit like the new(ish) power rangers movie in that it is not written for kids and has action galore in it. The fight scenes are great and the harem building is not over the top. As the blurb says, this is a cross between the power rangers, Gundam and Greek mythology built onto an adults only litrpg sci-fi book that is well worth the read. Starting book 2 now!
As always Marco puts out a fun tale. True to his description, you can tell it's a slightly more adult take on the tokusatsu hero stories we grew up on, but let's be honest here: do we seriously believe those shows would have a bunch of athletic, spandex wearing heroes facing possible death every other day weren't blowing off steam with each other afterwards just to feel alive? Marco, you keep writing them, I'll keep reading them.
I can't recommend this book enough. The pacing was very nice, I felt like we were fed just the eight amount of lore as we went along. Bo is a fun protagonist to follow along with. All the characters are bright and vibrant, and I felt as we got to know of them quite well. Looking forward to book two and beyond to book twelve.
After a little confusion , you get to understand the crystal setups quickly. The story keeps you antsy to find the rings and the rest of the Zodiacs..Can't wait for 2....would read it now if available..
I am a huge fan of Power Rangers and Voltron and shows like those, Marco has done an amazing job of writing a book that combines it all in a fun way. This is an action packed roller coaster ride of a story and I hope he continues with this series!
If you’re looking for a fun, action packed story that also has crazy attractive woman...this one is for you. Easy read that is perfect for a lazy afternoon.
