Love & Deception is a spinoff novel from my Satan's Sinners M.C. series. A piece of this story first appeared in the Ridin' Dirty Anthology, but has now been made into a full-length novel. The timeframe of Love & Deception takes place between Night Sky and Returning Home. Cody For as long as I can remember, I've had this plan, a goal to become number one in the PBR. I've never let anything or anyone come between me and my dream until that one weekend I had with Sonya Collins. Now, I'm wondering what's more love or those eight seconds. Sonya "Shug" Collins I've always known my place within the M.C. world with Satan's Sinners; I'm a club whore. It's who I am and all I'll ever be to them. I want more. I don't fantasize about becoming an Ol' Lady. My dream is to escape the life I was born into. What's stopping me? I owe the club and Hanger, and until that debt is paid, I'm stuck. Or so I thought until that one weekend with Cody Sterling, the bull rider who rode into town and showed me what love could really be. Chayser I'm in love with Shug, and she can't even see it. I thought that one day she would open those pretty amber eyes and realize what was in front of her, but Shug's hate for my world runs deep. I watched as he drove away, leaving her standing there crying. I'll pick up the pieces that he broke and put her back together. Maybe then, she'll love me too. This book is for 18+ due to subject matter (less)
Sonya had accepted the hand that life had dealt her, and she made the best she could of the situation even if it wasn’t her first choice. She never expected that attending a rodeo with her friend would be anything more than a fun time and that meeting Cody would have her wanting a different future.
Cody is a rising star in the rodeo and that has been his entire focus. Spending the weekend with Shay he realizes the rodeo may not be enough, but will he feel the same once her secrets are revealed?
Their journey wasn’t without its obstacles, but I was happy with how it all worked out in the end.
Sonya Collins is a twenty-two-year-old college graduate working in a clothing store but as Shug, she is a club girl for the Satan’s Sinners MC paying back a debt. She meets Cody Sterling, a bull rider, at a rodeo in town and they feel an instant chemistry.
Sonya is very hard on herself, making herself pay back her mother’s debt, but this shows what an honorable person she is and although how she does it may not be morally everyone’s choice, for her it was the only way. I really liked her character but hated how hard she was on herself and how little she thought of herself.
Cody was a decent enough guy yet we can say ‘double standards’ apply to him and that really annoyed me. I mean I did understand his surprised reaction but if he was that much in love he would have been more willing to listen. Perhaps his character was representative of the ‘typical male’ and what their reaction would be. It reinforced Sonya’s fears tenfold.
This lighter story is very entertaining and enjoyable, a quick read that leads you into book two, I have to know what happens Sonya’s best friend.

I LOVE me some talented Colbie Kay, so it really hurts my heart to not give this story 5 stars, and for the things I'm about to say. Sonya/Shug is a girl with a double life. In public, she's Sonya, a college student who works on the side at a clothing store, and Shug, a club girl for the Satan's Sinners MC, because she feels responsible for a debt which isn't her own. While she's Sonya, she's happily trying to make her life better, as Shug, she's just surviving. Sonya/Shug is so hard on herself throughout that I really wanted to hug her in the worst ways. Enter in Cody, a man who I really never liked, because he was totally a double standard type of douche, which reinforced Sonya's belief in men and/or self worth. He never redeemed himself in my eyes, which is why I couldn't give this story the perfect rating. However, I couldn't rate it less than 4 stars though, because Sonya was great. Here's the deal, just hit your one click button to decide for yourselves, because everything I said was only my opinion, and I'll continue reading this series. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
So Colbie has done It again with Sonya and Cody story. This is a short story with and ending that leads us into book 2. Sonya is living her life in two different worlds. A young college graduate with goals. Then a mc club girl named Shrug. She doesn't want to be in the club as a old lady. Yet she is trying to pay back her family debt in favors not money. Until she meets a up and coming bull rider named Cody at a rodeo with her friend Pudge. Pudge also meets Codys friend Jace. These friends couple off and find so much more for a relationship. Just when things are going well for Sonya, Chayser a member of the club wants Shrug for more. She loves him as a friend nothing more. She wants more with Cody until the truth comes out. Cody is hurt and leaves. Love will find a way for these two. Love is worth more then eight seconds. Then a year later life continues. Sonya and Purge are cheering on Cody and Sonya passes out cold. Going to hospital the readers will have to wait for story 2 to find out about Pudge, Sonya, Cody, Jace and Chayser. I know all of are question will be answered. Can't wait.

Title: Love & Deception Author: Colbie Kay Genre: MC Romance **RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW** I adore Colbie Kay's work. She takes you on a ride with a character to the depths of their soul and brings you out on the other side with that character come what may. That's what we saw and felt with Shug/Sonya. We felt her pain, her determination, her perseverance, her loyalty, her love, her endurance, her drive, and her need to be more than what fate seemed to set her up for.
Yet, with all that I feel the book lost something on the other characters; Even Cody our supposed hero. Shug saves herself. Just sayin. Cody was flat and a hypocrite. If we read this book more as a novella with insta-love then the lack of depth would be okay but to put such emotion into Shug and then the love of her life be so lackluster just felt wrong.
It is still a good read. I enjoyed seeing some of the old gang. I have read this series since the beginning so it is like coming home.
Love and Deception is the first book in the Beautifully Twisted series, which appears to be a spinoff to the Satan's Sinners series. You do not need to have read the Sinners series to enjoy this book.
Shug is a reluctant club girl in the Sinners clubhouse, believing herself indebted to the club. She basically lives two lives; her public life where she can be anything she wants to be and then her club life, where she just survives. Meeting Cody was an accident but a serendipitous one. Just one weekend will change the rest of both their lives.
While I'm a fan of Ms. Kay, this book wasn't my favorite. The story felt a little disjointed (and suffers the need of editing) and the characters were too one-dimensional. Of particular annoyance was Cody's hypocrisy, given how they met. Finally, the ending was rushed and ends on a cliffhanger. Despite these issues, it's good to see Shug get her HEA and to see the boys again!

Shug is a rare thing. She's a club girl with no desire to raise to ol lady. She has a debt to pay and she'll be in the MC until it's paid. When Cody enters her life, she wonders if that is all in store for her. Could she really find love with a Bull Rider?
Chayser thinks she's more and wants to be that for her. Why is she with that cowboy when he's wanted her for so long?
This is a short read with a lot going on. While Cody and Sonya had the chance for something special that neither thought they'd have. I was sad for Chayser who'd been good to her and seems left out.
The end is a lead into the next story, however, I didn't feel the end completed the story leaving more a cliffy than a lead-in. I loved her best friend Pudge and Jake and want to see more of them.
Finally getting Shug’s story! I was so excited for her story as it filled in the background from other books. It was so interesting to figure out why Shug was at the MC and what her debt was to them. I loved to get to know Shug as a person rather than the role she played in the club, and once she meets Cody, I could see her changing. While I liked Chayser and he had good intentions towards Shug, there was nobody for her but Cody. But when Cody finds out her double life and connection with the MC, the question remains if it will pull them apart. I really enjoyed this storyline and the end I couldn’t get enough! I am interested to see if this sparks a new series for Colbie because I would love to get Shug’s best friend’s story after the teaser we got in the epilogue! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This was an interesting, intriguing, and exciting story about one of the club girls, and her wish for a normal life. It's completely different from what the other girls usually want, and unfortunately someone is going to get their heart broken because of it all. There's a lot of information about the club in this book that explains so much about what happened in the club, but I would strongly suggest that you read the Satan's Sinners MC series prior to beginning this one. It's not necessary, but you will have a better understanding of what's going on with the characters and club. I'm not thrilled about the cliffhanger that ended this story, but hopefully the next book will be released soon. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
Holy fudgesticks! Whaaat?! As always, this author delivers a book that hooked me from the first page. I could not put this down! My heart went out to Shug, Cody and Chasyer and I wondered how it would all play out. To say I was blown away, is an understatement. Vague, I know but I dislike spoilers with a passion, so I won't give them! What I will say is, hold on, it's going to bumpy. *shouts really loudly ' F*** You Ghost!!!' Make of that, what you will. And that ending?!!! Another fantastic read by this author!! Imma gonna pour a large glass of wine and go rock in the corner for a little while!
Wow I love how you switched it up. I love your MC books, but this one was absolutely brilliant in my opinion. I loved Cody and Sonja aka shug. I’m glad she got away and started over. Was great to see her as someone else, not just the club life she lived. I just freaking loved it. No hope you continue to write more books about cowboys and the rodeo. Thank you so much for writing this one! Simply amazing. I don’t have enough words to describe my feelings. I definitely recommend anyone getting this one!!! Thank you so much for Love and Deception Shug and Cody’s story!!!
