Not only will she join the team being formed to deal with the threat, but she intends to be its leader. She’s strong, powerful, and knows she has what it takes to handle the other witches. Yet when a surprise turn of events lands one of the smoking hot dragons in the midst of her team, everything’s shaken up.

Dragon shifter Altair has never felt at peace. The war has left its mark on him, but not in any physical way. Beset by perceived failure, his mind is slowly turning against him. With symptoms growing worse by the day, he knows it’s only a matter of time before someone is killed because of him. Again. Seeking a way to redeem himself, he volunteers against orders to join the fight against the demon lord, placing himself under the command of a curvy, powerful witch.

Christine thought that having a dragon on her team would make it stronger. Instead, he’s trying to do everything himself regardless of the cost to the team. If they’re going to succeed, she knows that finding out what’s driving Altair is paramount. But spending time with the dragon has her feeling emotions that she wasn’t expecting. The two of them will have to give in to their desires if they have any hope of defeating the demon lord. Can she finally get Altair to open up to her, or will his past ruin everything she’s working to build?

Riley is one of those early-morning people you love to hate, because she swears she doesn't need caffeine, even though the coffee-maker is connected to her smartphone. She lives in a three-story townhouse by the good graces of a tabby-cat who rules the house, the couch, the table, well, basically everywhere. When she's not groveling for forgiveness for neglecting to pet her kitty enough, Riley is strapped in to her writing chair coming up with crazy worlds where she can make her own decisions of when feeding time is and how much coffee can be drank without her friends--of which she has three--holding yet another intervention that they threaten to post on the internet.

The drama continues in Dragon's Chosen Mate which is book three in the Storm Dragons series.

The series follows a war where many lives are lost in the dragons world. A war against a foe that destroys the mind. Now they are forced to leave their world in order to protect their species. Now they find refuge with witches who are weary of these new beings and often hostile. What they find is women who they learn maybe their fated mates.

The story is full of action and suspense as humans and dragons navigate their way through relationships neither are sure about.

This is the third book in the Storm Dragons Series. This is the first book in the series that I've read and there was no problem reading it as a standalone. This is not the genre that I usually read but I found it to be a well written and enjoyable book. Full of fantasy and fairy tales. Throw in some witches, dragons and demon lords. This is Christine and Alstair's story. They have great chemistry and make a great team. Plenty of action and suspense as they battle to save Winterspell. I read an arc via Bad Boy Update and voluntarily chose to read. If you like fantasy romances, you'll love this book.

Need MORE books about these dragons

Dragon’s Chosen Mate: Storm Dragons (Book 3)
A Winterspell Academy Novel
By Riley Storm
Kindle unlimited purchase
Altair is having difficulty dealing with the devastation of his planet and everything he saw. But who would not have nightmares, keep seeing it in a loop over and over? When he hears about Lord Berith, demon lord from the Abyss, one of the witch's biggest threat to Winterspell Academy he knew it was the right thing to do. So he was the ONLY dragon that volunteered to fight with the witches.
Christine felt ready to take on the responsibility to head a team to stop Lord Berith she knew she was ready. But Altair was proving difficult. Every time she turned around he was getting in the way, messing things up and it was hurting her chances.
I loved this book. The only thing that I question is the dragon's involvement. Why was Altair the ONLY dragon to volunteer to join the witches on their fight against Berith? In my opinion, it made the dragons look in a bad light. I mean the witches are putting them up letting them LIVE at Winterspell Academy and this is the thinks they get. Also, they live on earth don't they want to protect it from the bad that can destroy their NEW home. Love this world, love the dragons, love this series.
Wounder if there is going to be more books?

Altair and Christine are having a hard time working together. She feels as though he is acting as a lone person on the team and also not watching what he is supposed to. Christine is also guilty of doing things as well.

Christine Sinnclare is part way through a test when the witches of Winterspell are old that the demon Lord Berith has come back to Earth. They need to train their teams to fight him and protect the humans in the world. Christine wants to be the leader of the team, and will do all within her power to earn the spot.
Altair volunteers to train with them - the storm dragon has demons from his past, and is prepared to give his life to save everyone else - after all, that's what the last witch who beat Berith had to do! He finds it difficult to work within the team structure - it seems that he and Christine
share a connection, and he will do anything to protect her.
Will he be able to beat his inner demons and be of real help to the witches when the time comes? Will he and Chrisitine manage to have a life together - are they really fated mates? I am loving this series!

While this is the third book in the series you could read it has a stand alone but you will enjoy it far better if you have read the previous two books Like all Riley's books it flows well and is a wonderful combination of shifters witches and magic

Christine Sinnclare is a strong witch and when the demon lord Berith escapes the abyss she sees a perfect opportunity to prove her value she not only wants to be on the team to battle him and return him to the abyss but she actually wants to be the leader. When she has the chance to add a dragon shifter to her team she jumps at the chance Altair is battling feelings of failure he blames himself for losses suffered during the war and sees this has his chance at redemption. What he didn't expect was that he would find his mate in the powerful witch leading the team that is about to go into battle. Have they each found their perfect match and will that give them the strength they need to win this battle

OUTSTANDING READ!!!!!
Storm Dragons Series
Christine is a witch and she dreams of becoming a master and had been working very hard at Winter spell Academy.
But they are in a war with the demon lord Berith. But they are not ready for him so they ask for help from the dragons.
Altair is living a nightmare. He still blames himself for a past lost in a war he couldnt win But Altair will not forgive himself. So when he hears of this battle he puts himself forward knowing he will sacrifice himself if needed. None of the other Dragons can get through to him but what about a witch???
Wow this read is so emotional. My heart went out to Altair I just wanted to give him a big hug. I couldnt put this book down, there is so much going on I didnt want to miss a second of the action.
A Brilliant read!!!!

Love those dragons!

The dragons have come through a portal to a version of Earth. They are struggling to find their way, when they know their world Dracis has been destroyed. Altair believes that he has badly failed his people. He volunteers for a job that.might get him killed. Christine wants to be the leader of this crew badly, but it is a very difficult situation. Both characters have believable reactions to their situations, but both manage to get beyond that. Their journey is most impressive. The pace is breakneck, the tone is hopeful and intense and the storyline is character oriented with some action and some steamy scenes. The characters are vibrant, complex and strong. Read this series in order to really understand the complexities of this world. It is quite amazing.enjoy! Enjoy

I received this ARC from Bad Boy Update. Altair has not been the same since the war and coming to Winterspell and is looking for a way to redeem himself, at least in his eyes. Christine is a high ranking witch just itching to show what she can do and she gets that chance when a demon lord escapes the Abyss. She is leading the team looking for him and accepts Altair's offer of help. Having a strong, and hot, dragon with them should increase their odds, but she begins to worry when she she his reckless behavior. She has to deal with what is best for the team and Winterspell and what her heart is telling her to do. The chemistry is there and soon they realize they must give into what they feel or they will lose everything and everyone. Loved it!

The Witches announce the formation a task force and Christine is surprised when a Dragon volunteers.
In the middle of her test an announcement calls everyone to an urgent meeting and when Christine arrives she is surprised that the Dragons have been included. Their leader Circe informs them that a Demon Lord has been sighted on Earth and that Winterspell will be forming a special task force to deal with him. Circe then request volunteer and Christine is shocked that one of the Dragons does. Altair feels he failed in the fight before the Dragons left their home and hopes the task force will help him make amends. Christine runs after him to ask why he volunteered.

The people of Winterspell are being attacked by creatures from the Abyss. Christine, thinking this is part of her testing, begins to organize a team to fight the creatures. However, this is not a test and the people of Winterspell, as well as humans, are in danger. Altair, dragon, volunteers to fight the Lord Demon alongside the witches even though it could possibly be a death sentence. Christine wants to be head of the response team but must prove herself at the training sessions. As Altair and Christine work together, they realize that there is more to their relationship besides colleagues.

The storyline was amazing and fantastically good. It was well written and had an amazing flow to the story. The characters were developed well, however, Christine was kind of hard to relate to for a time. She was had an ego that really needs to be adjusted. She does grow throughout the story and this makes her much more likable. Altair was one that tends to be self punishing and as the story progressed he also grows. It is a story that is action packed and full of drama. It had an amazing ending that just drew me in. It is most definitely worth reading.

An angsty action packed read. As Winterspell faces a huge threat, literally, senior apprentice Christine is brought together with dragon shifter Altair who wants to be on the assault team with her. I love these characters, Christine is so smart and confident she knows what she wants and is going after it. Altair is somewhat damaged. The war on his planet has taken its toll on his self awareness. There is plenty of action between the witches and their foes, a good bit less between Christine and Altair, but they have enough angst and romance to make up for it. And the HEA is sigh worthy.

Christine has been studying at Winterspell Academy for many years and wants to become a Master. The Lord Demon who is coming for Winterspell will be her biggest challenge yet. She teams up with the dragon shifter Altair. He has his own agenda for the demon due to what he perceives as his failure to save children when they were escaping their home world. Can he work with the team as a member or will he cause their failure because of his actions? And the feelings developing between Christine and Altair added greatly to this story. Loved it.

A romance with plenty of magic. When a great danger forms the witches and dragons will join together to defeat it. But nothing is ever that easy. Christine is a witch and has studied combat magic for years. She has the potential to be a great leader but will learn it doesn’t come easy and we don’t always get what we want. Altair is a dragon shifter. Because of his past he feels a need to right a wrong. This will lead him to take too many risks. Can the two join together and be part of a great team or will it end in disaster. The story really builds the team and leadership of the group. And then there is the romance. Things can heat up at times but the chemistry is great.

Now he's volunteering to help the witches of Winterspell fight a demon from the Abyss. Will Christine be able to help Altair beat his demons? Will Christine and he other witches along with Altair be able to take down the demon from he Abyss ? Will they get their Happily Ever After? You'll have to read to find out but you won't be sorry you did. I read an Advanced copy with NO expectation of a review.

Part three in this series, but you can read it as a stand alone.

At the beginning of the book I sometimes wanted to scream at both Christine and Altair to tell them to grow up and not only think about themselves.

But luckily soon the story changes and they get to know each other and care for each other while preparing for a dangerous mission.
Can they defeat the demon lord together with the help of their team?
For that you have to read the book.

If you like a dragon shifter book with action and some hot scenes, this is a book for you for sure.

A dragon shifter, feeling guilty of having lost his homeland to invaders and a witch in training have a common goal - fighting a demon lord and sending him back into the Abyss. But they are also fighting the attraction towards each other from the first moment.
More Fantasy adventure than romance it has a nice blend of both, add into it the psychology of guilt and bad timing for a romance and you have a near perfect blend. The book is well-written and at times difficult to put down.

PTSD the worst thing to have. (At least in my option.) A trauma that you always relive and can't think of anything else to do to prevent it. This story is about trauma and trying to live with it or to get rid of it. Working hard to overcome it also. I like the way they came up to help combat the PTSD. An excellent story. It took me a little longer than usual to get into the story and feel connected to the characters. Once I did, I enjoyed it. I felt like they both supported one another and helped one another become stronger. I liked that they weren't perfect and made some serious mistakes. They have a strong chemistry. I really loved the bonus scene.

Christine, a witch and Altair, a storm dragon unite with a team to try to send Berith, a demon lord, back to the abyss. Altair is still lost over his last big assignment in which he lost some very vulnerable people. Good story with strong and engaging characters and strong world building. Good read!

Awesome

I have really really enjoyed this series. Met Altair in the second book. He was very troubled, a loner. But with the help of Christine he was able to forgive himself and find true love all while preparing to defeat a very powerful enemy.
